I absolutely love this place! It’s an awesome gem, and my son loves it too. We’ve been able to create his library with all purchases from here. Whenever he moves on to another reading level, we donate the old books and go back for more! I lose all track of time in there. I’ve gotten quite a few new additions to my record collection from here and the one on Northwest Hwy

This is my go-to book store with my family. I don’t like going to big-name bookstores because more often than not the clientele is just passing through to get to the mall. HPB is always quiet and stocked with good finds. The employees at this location are friendly, the bathrooms are clean, and the store is never a mess if that’s one of your triggers. Only problem, and it’s not really a fault of theirs, but I never know if I’m going to find a specific book when I go. I could call ahead and check, but I’m sure most would agree that there’s something magical about browsing a book store. Probably the smell. Love that smell. So whenever I go to HPB I make sure to put together a list of books on my phone and look for any on the list and I suggest you do the same to ensure you always walk out with something you’ve been looking for. The employees at this location are always really helpful if you can’t find something at their store too. In a nutshell, never had a bad experience here. The Cedar Hill location is a good place to browse for all ages and reading tastes.

Love this place! You can get so many great deals on books, dvds, albums, magazine’s, etc… You name it they have it. Also they will buy back any of your items that are in good shape. So you can return books or items once your done with them. A good way to get a little cash back or to put back on another book. My go to place to pick up a nice little gift for myself!

Great place to drop off your wife while you go hobby shopping. Smells like old books, they also have game and music.

The poetry books only covered half a shelf, which disappointed me. I was really hoping for some E. E. Cummings stuff. The store is a little small, but the young adult section was decent, and I found a few books that I liked. Overall, I was underwhelmed, but this WAS a small-ish store on the side of a highway in the middle of nowhere.

Always good for a thing or two — but not much else.

They have a lot of the popular and classical fiction books at this store. I was surprised to find this specific cookbook that’s been on my wishlist. They don’t have too much to choose from, and if you’re looking for something specific that’s not fiction then chances are they may not have it. I was very disappointed when no one in that store knew who Coach John Wooden was(as I was looking for a copy of his Pyramid of Success book). I assume the staff the works there are more book worms than sports fan. If you’re just browsing around, then you may find something that you’ll like.

Half Price Books buys used books and other merchandise, then turns the savings over to you, the customer. Other than select«rare» items, everything in the store truly is half price. In fact, a lot of stuff is even cheaper. The different sections are setup nicely, and the books etc. are pretty easy to find. However, if you are unfortunate enough not to be able to find something, you’re on your own. The store doesn’t file, so they can’t tell you what’s in stock, and what’s not. It can be aggravating, but it’s forgivable considering the prices here. The selections here are a little lacking from the other Half Price Books locations, but there’s still plenty to choose from. They have a decent selection of DVDs, Records, CDs, and Magazines; and of course, lots and lots of books. I highly recommend going here if you’re used to the insane prices that places like Barnes & Noble make you pay, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Just don’t think you’re gonna make any money by being one of the people selling to them. Unless you want mere pennies per book, I suggest against it.
