My boyfriend & I were in the mood for Mexican food today & didn’t feel like driving to Uptown for our fav so we decided to give Campuzanos a try. The restaurant, originally a house, was indeed tight. I was pleased with our seating location but some of their other tables were a tad too close to one another. I was uncomfortable for the people sitting at them. For a Saturday late afternoon lunch I was surprised when we were immediately seated. Their staff was very friendly but the service was slow, too slow for Latin Cuisine. Took about 30 mins for the food to arrive &20 mins for the check. Food wise, Delicious! I’ll pass on their queso next visit(not very flavorful), but I would definitely order their steak tacos again. My boyfriend had their shrimp enchilada dinner & he said it was really good as well. If you live in the area give them a try. Pros: Great Food Friendly Staff Cons: Slow Service Cramped Dining Area Limited Parking

Came here to try it and was a huge let down. The waitress forgot our appetizer and when we got our food we were not impressed. It’s was not worth the price for what you got. Sorry.

Awesome food and service. I review this restaurant a couple years ago. Something has changed. The food isn’t as good as it once was. I won’t be back.

Horrible experience. Waited over an hour. Everyone got seated before us. We finally asked when we were going to be seated. Nothing. No apology no excuses no seats. Piss poor hostess stand. Unprofessional. Rude. Wasted an hour of my time that I can’t get back.

I am sorry but this restaurant isn’t all that great. Not for me. Parking lot is super tight. They close kinda early at 9 pm. They’ll turn u away if u show up at 8:45. We’ve tried it. Yes I know it’s a terrible thing to do and might have deserved it but we were working late and wanted to have a margarita. The service has sucked each time I’ve been here. I’ve been here about 7 times. The food has always tasted the same so continuity is there. It always tastes lack luster and bland. Nothing special. Half price fajitas on Thursday I believe. They skip out on giving you beans. Best part of this place are the big red margaritas. I will visit again for the delicious big red margaritas. Otherwise it’s not a gem. It’s not special. Its cramped inside and out. There are better places to spend your hard earned money.

Very good food and the portions are huge. I always end up taking half of my meal home.

Ehhh, it was okay! I was excited after reading the reviews. I was definitely not impressed afterwards. Just average. Service wasn’t that great. Food was so-so. My husband said his Chili Relleno was lacking flavor.

MUYBUENO!!! We’re in Dallas visiting friends and said we were in the mood for Mexican. They brought us here and boy, SO glad they did! The food was EXCELLENT!!! I got the Chile Relleno with ground beef and it was FANTASTIC! My husband got the Carne Asada and said it was great! I LOVEDLOVEDLOVED the homemade salsa and chips! I don’t know why other reviewers would say the food«doesn’t have flavor» or «everything is bland and tastes the same.» I thought the food was very flavorful and definitely satisfied our Mexican craving! I got a Campuzano Margarita and holy cow– It. Was. So. Strong! Literally was able to drink, maybe an inch of it throughout the whole meal. Might or might not have gotten a «to go» styrofoam water cup, chugged the water and brought my drink with me. ;-) Service was good. I don’t think our server spoke much English because another one of our guests had a dietary request(no bun on his burger) and he got a bun. No big deal though. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!

Damnit everything here is so delicious! I love just about everything I have tried here but the chicken fajita quesadillas are by far the best I have ever tasted! The drinks are very strong as well.

Prompt service if restaurant is over-crowded, usually after 7– expected to wait at least 30 minutes on weekends. Food is delicious! Shrimp tortilla soup, spinach quesadillas, and fiesta fajitas are our favorites and never disappoint! Margarita selection is decent-sangria swirl or top shelf is plenty! Looking forward to trying brunch menu at another location.

This is great spot to go to in cedar hill because it’s a small restaurant with great lunch specials. Today is Wednesday and its $ 9 fajitas all day. The staff is quick, yet lacks the personality waiter I’d like. Everything came out timely, and they give you a lot of food. My waitress didn’t introduce herself so I can’t recommend her, and she did the bare minimum.

I think this is the best Mexican place in the DeSoto/Duncanville/Cedar Hill area. My family comes here all the time and it’s always good! The place is located in what looks like a converted house. Don’t let the small size fool you, the place can hold a lot of people. However, if you come on a Thurs-Saturday night be prepared for a wait. I’ve never had bad service here. The drinks are strong and yummy. The food portions are large especially the fajita dinner. I recommend getting either the fajitas, enchiladas, or the carne asada entrees. You will be full and happy.

Best fajitas in DFW! In the past 8 years we have tried every Mexican place around and this place is seriously the best! We had the steak and chicken combo fajitas. Wow, they are really amazing!!!

I went here for the fajitas which were excellent. The fajita combo for two is enough for 3 – 4 people. The flour tortillas are tasty but not made in house. The refried beans have great flavor. The chips are served warm and salsa is tasty. The steak nachos are amazing. Steak has great flavor. It is a large person even when you order the small size. Plenty for one person with the small size. Topped with shredded cheese. The margaritas are super sweet. Service was friendly and efficient. There is a parking lot attached to the back entrance of restaurant. There is a patio with a/c. It is an old house so it has neat ambiance.

I have been here way more times then I have checked in. Been coming here for years. It is a cozy little place in Cedarhill. They also have locations in Dallas, and Waxahachie that I am aware of. The margaritas are yummy and the food is pretty good. It can get pretty crowded on on the weekends. So expect a wait they move fast however. The fajitas are tasty and I Love the shrimp quesadillas! The staff is very friendly and the food comes out fast. This location is a house that they transformed into a restaurant.

Came here last night with family to celebrate August birthdays. Called ahead to see if they took reservations(they don’t). Was a little nervous pulling up to the restaurant cause the parking lot is tiny and it looked packed. Surprisingly we were able to get right in with about a 5 minute wait. Started off with ordering a Big Red Rita to go with their awesome chips and salsa, sadly the Rita was not that grand! I think they pulled a margarita glass out of the dishwasher that was still warm and poured a frozen margarita in it and it immediately started to melt. It looked like he was handing me water with margarita ice cubes in it. I asked for a new one and the exact same thing happened, so I ended up going with my go to piña colada. The waiter was extremely nice about the whole thing! Piña colada was great, sweet and topped with whip cream and a cherry(my favorite!) I ordered the chicken flautas. They are always so good. Plates here are huge so be prepared to come with a hungry appetite! My mom ordered he shrimp nachos and raved about them the entire time she ate them! She kept saying how much shrimp there was on her nachos and how the definitely don’t scrimp on he shrimp! I really like Campuzanos and will most definitely be back soon! It’s a little hidden and I wish Cedar Hill would highlight it more, I think they would get a lot more business!

This restaurant is a cute little hole in the wall spot in Cedar Hill that use to be an old house. I ordered the chips and queso for an appetizer which was ok, nothing to brag about . For my entrée I ordered the enchiladas/rice/beans. The enchiladas won me over! The best enchiladas I’ve had in a long time. Man were they good! :) They came out hot and covered in cheese(my weakness). The entrée combined with the delicious mango margarita will definitely have me coming back to this restaurant for more. Note: The portion size is huge, you will definitely need a «to go» box.

Campuzano is a place I’ve driven by several times and bookmarked on Unilocal after hearing good things from a friend. I’m so glad that I finally dropped in. Campuzano is located near 67 in Cedar Hill but it’s in the more historic part of the city. The restaurant is an old house that has been converted into a restaurant and it is so cute! My aunt suggested we have a girls night and this was the spot chosen for dinner. We were seated promptly and the waitress wasted no time getting our food and drink orders. I like that. It’s always awkward when you want food or drinks and then when it’s time to order the waitress is nowhere to be found. The food itself was pretty good. I enjoyed the chips and salsa. For my entrée I ordered the enchiladas, one chicken and one beef. Enchiladas are typically what I use to judge a Tex Mex restaurant. At Campuzano, get the beef enchiladas. They’re delicious and you will quickly get full from the chips and salsa plus the decent sized dinner portions. Tip: If you go on a Friday, go pretty early because around 8ish it gets pretty crowded. Also, the parking lot is teeny tiny so you may have to park in an adjacent parking lot.

Definitely more authentic than Tex-Mex, which is a nice change of gears; seeing as the Tex-Mex space dominates the state of Texas The chips and salsa are a breath of fresh air. The salsa is spicy and houses fresh ingredients(cilantro, peppers, tomatoes, onions). The corn chips are a nice compliment and much healthier. My Dad and I split the Fajitas for Two which was more than plenty for us both. In fact: there was way too much leftover… Two meals in one! The sweet tea is a perfect balance of brewed tea and just enough sugar. The owner of the six locations is friends with my folks so go and support their food.
