The Boxcar is a great little gem on the back roads of Ellis County. I love going there to hang out with all of my friends… Fred, Robin, Howard, and Ronnie. The owners are super nice, the prices are reasonable, and BONUS… it’s all NON-​SMOKING! Keep up the good work!

Went here for office Karaōke Christmas party. We had a blast! They had a decent selection of craft beers. They do offer snack food, although we didn’t try it. Patrons were young and old, nice variety. Two pool tables and a hand-​shuffleboard table. Decent bathroom. We’ll be back!

Always great drinks and good times. The management has made great changes with the décor and bathrooms. Excellent patio area too. They also help with fundraisers. Just excellent people, place and owners.

Chill atmosphere. Long Island for $ 7 bud light bottle for $ 3. Pool and shuffleboard and a patio all in the area. There was a dog running around inside/​outside which I think was the bartenders dog. One strange thing is they scanned our drivers licenses to check info… Never had that done before. Didn’t really like that. Anyway a very country and laid back place. Would give more stars if they didn’t take all your information I feel slightly violated.

The place to be for good drinks (try Wednesday night when Derrick is working!!), fun bar games, and hanging out while catching up with old (and new) friends while listening to the jukebox. Will definitely be coming back again and again.

Derrick & the staff make special drinks or try your recipes.
The covered patio features adult jenga and the uncovered gravel patio is a relaxing chill out spot.

This is our fifth time or so coming here. I wanted to wait till we came a few times to write a review. My wife and I love this place. The people are nice, the beers are cheap, live bands on Friday nights, Karaōke on Saturdays. Its a lot of fun. Small town dive bar atmosphere.

Kairoke night is a lot of fun at this place. They have a lot of locals and regulars that give this place a homie feel. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone passing through. The food and drinks are inexpensive with a relaxing atmosphere.
