I come here often without issue, but today was awful. I waited to be sat while two servers and the chef walked around or played on their phone. I asked to seat myself and was finally acknowledged. I asked for a mug of hot water with lemon, but received a plastic cup of hot water and a glass of ice. What? I asked again for a mug, three times, in fact. It finally came out, but with food floating in it. Then I was told I could not have the special because I was eating alone. Again, what? She said she would do it anyway, I started to order, and she said to stop because she didn’t have a pen. Upon her return, I ordered again; veggie egg rolls and two sushi rolls. Instead, I received chicken egg rolls, a salad, and one roll that didn’t have in it what was advertised per menu. Whatever, I ate the egg and sushi rolls anyway while I waited for the second one. Then she brought a roll I didn’t order. After finally getting the right roll, I had lost my appetite. I wanted to leave, but she was nowhere to be found. I waited so long, I watched an episode on Netflix. It was an experience I will never pay $ 20 for again.

Interesting enough, I found this place when dropping my daughter off at Razzoo’s. It was definitely hidden. There were not many cars in the area. But I like Sushi, and wanted to give it a try. When I walked in it was ghost city but the décor and ambiance was really nice. This is a hidden gem. The menu was massive and the staff was very nice. I ordered my food to go and was surprised that while sitting and waiting I received a complimentary nonalcoholic beverage. The food was very fresh and tasted really good. There is another Sushi place in Cedar Hill that I frequent and they are comparable. But this is a larger facility and would be great for many different outings. I am just shocked that more people do not know about it and frequent it.

May I start by saying the food was delicious! The sauces that they put on the rolls were amazing to the point my sister & I were tempted to lick the plates, lol. Pricing was super good as well. For four large servings of sushi I believe it was about $ 40. There were only two servers working on a Friday evening when we walked in. At first, it was only about 2 tables that were already seated. By the time we were leaving there were about 5 tables. With this said, I’m not sure if the servers need extra training on efficiency or if the restaurant needs better staffing plans, either way the service wasn’t amazing. The server seemed too overwhelmed with the few tables and couple of to-go orders to actively check in with us. We asked for an alcoholic drink menu and was told they didn’t have anything. When we ask for him to elaborate he said they«only had saki & beer». We inquired about wine & he said«we may have a little cab in the back». Um… okay? We were told he would check however never got a definite answer after reminding him multiple times. After placing our food order ITTOOK50MINUTES to receive our food. Absolutely unacceptable! Unfortunately you could hear people at other tables inquiring about their food as well, so luckily it wasn’t just us. I even noticed the guest leaving with to-go orders were upset(not sure as to the reason why). I will say I am willing to give the to-go order option a try that way I can order at least an hour in advance. Honestly if the food didn’t take so long & if the staff was more knowledgable on the food & more efficient with serving, I would not only return but recommend this place.

I love their sushi, and their costumer service was the best to my opinion, I would love to come often if I lived around here, might exaggerate but exquisitely lovely.

I had the New Orleans and Philadelphia. It could have been a slow night. There were about 2 or 3 tables taken, me and another guy getting to go orders. I was nervous because of some of the reviews but I have to say I enjoy the sushi. The customer service was great and they were really willing to make anything that i wanted. I paid over $ 30 for two rolls which I think is pricey but I would definitely go back.

Portions had small amount of meat. The food was good and the service was great. Price was high for what you get. The sushi was awesome and well worth the price. We will go again for sushi but not for the other food.

Great service and amazing food. Try the Bulogi beef bowl or the Crunch Roll. Also, it’s really nice and quiet but not stuck up, kid friendly.

Great Sushi. Ate here on a Tuesday at 6pm and we were they only ones in the restaurant, needless to say we had great service :) the Cedar Hill roll was very crunchy but good. The complimentary miso soup was gritty I’ve never had miso soup like this before-yellow cloudy color rather then clear. Also had Bugogi Bowl more onions than beef but great flavor. The bowl can feed 2 – 3 people. Restaurant itself has a nice Asian décor with a relaxing setting.

Great sushi! The cedar hill roll was a whole texture difference than I’ve ever had. It was crispy fried and had a spicy kick. All of the sushi was amazing, but the service was slow. Our server was great but was the ONLY front staff there. He was the host, server, and buser. The poor thing was running around crazy. They also only had one chef doing everything, keep in mind this was a Saturday night and how they are staffed. The food was great but I would mention to the owner that they need to be better equipped in handling a dinner rush.

Tried this place today for dinner with my brother and we are happy to say we will be regulars! The crab twist was our favorite but the cedarhill rock and roll was a very close second. Quantity and quality was impressive.- Update, we go here a lot now and still have these two but have since added the Volcano 2… if you like spicy this is a must try!

Visited the restaurant a handful of times after it opened. They were offering free alcohol since they had not yet obtained a liquor license. Maybe it was because they had barely been open for a few months, that the place was near empty. Each time we visited it was near empty. Still that didn’t help the service from being slow and sad. Yes, our server looked very sad to be serving us. The restaurant is clean. Easily accessible. Lots of parking. Sushi is moderately priced but probably should be a lot cheaper. The price doesn’t make sense. It’s not the freshest sushi. There are other places nearby that are better, like and . The cost is comparable and the sushi tastes so much better.

Great sushi menu. I’m always surprised that the restaurant is usually empty. I think opening next to Razoos was probably a mistake. Because of this, there is a high waiter turnover. I don’t think I’ve ever had the same waiter twice. The sushi is great. They also have delicious Korean beef dishes. The chef refuses to serve rice balls to anyone over 7. My 24 year old son loves rice balls and is always sad when he can’t get them. We don’t understand why the chef would refuse any request when we are the only customers in the entire restaurant. Seems crazy. The fried calamari is not good. It’s made with a heavy corn meal coating. The calamari is much better across the freeway at the Hibatchi Japanese Restaurant.

Pretty decent rolls here, especially considering that our SoDaCo(Southern Dallas County — I’m trying to make it a «thing») sushi options are few and far between. My only complaint is that everything was a little too sweet — the sauce on my rolls, the fried rice, chicken, etc. Maybe I should just ask for any sauces on the side next time. But the ambience and service here are top notch. Fast and friendly, just the way I like it! They also have a «happy hour» special on rolls(don’t recall the specifics) so if you get there between 4 — 7 you’re good!

It’s never good when chef denies my request(insisted on white rice for flavor, although I laid $$ on the counter for a brown rice upgrade). Why was I the only patron during rush hour? Maybe we should blame it on the rain. Why didn’t I know this place was here after 2 yrs although I’ve been to Uptown Village several times in that time period. Ordered the veggie bowl(veggies, lettuce, brown sauce, and a whopping price tag) — see pic. I’ve eaten this bowl twice now. Downside — waaaaay too much sauce. Otherwise, the bowl is pretty good, and great for an alternative to the fast food scene. However, it’s not good enough to crave or even eat frequently.

Good sushi reasonable prices. Many roll choices. Great sashimi! Definitely get the white tuna. Also really like that they have Korean and Hot Pot.

It’ll do! It was very family friendly. Not ideal for Happy Hour or girls night out. I decided to venture In her for happy hours with my coworker. I was looking forward to wine lots of appetizers and yummy sushi. It wasn’t bad, I just expected more. The server we had seemed new and like he wasn’t familiar with the menu. The menu had a ton of sushi choices. some traditional some creative. I funny know how to explain it right… but the sushi choices seemed like they were tailored to the community. I expected to see more Japanese inspired choices. The ambiance was dull or kinda boring. It kinda reminded me of an old Chinese buffet. I wouldn’t recommend this place for happy hour because there’s no bar the music is low… And there’s never anybody there. It’s more family friendly… somewhere take a book and enjoy some quite time.

Okay, this place is delicious! I didn’t even know there was sushi place in Cedar Hill until a friend suggested we go here. The atmosphere is nice and the waiter was friendly, occasionally checking on our table as a waiter should. Not to mention it is not very expensive and there is a big selection on the menu. I decided to try the cucumber roll, while my friends got the California roll and the hollywood roll. We all tried each others rolls and I enjoyed all of them. The hollywood roll was a bit spicy but good. We ended our visit with some green tea ice cream. yum! I will be coming back soon.

I really like this place. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was not busy but people people were trickling in. The service is amazing! So polite without being overbearing and very happy to answer any questions about the menu. It’s a nice place to relax. Lights are dim and the music is pretty mellow with a few tunes mixes in to have you bobbing your head. Happy hour is everyday from 3 — 7pm; during this time there are drink and appetizer specials. I started with the house wine(which was great) and egg rolls. Then came the dynamite roll(cooked salmon, avocado, crab) that was so tasty and hit the spot. Udon noodle and fried rice dishes are also available. I will definitely be back.

After reading many positive reviews on this place, I came in with high expectations. After trying the New Orleans roll, egg rolls, fried goyza, veggie fried rice, and pan fried noodles I was highly disappointed. Sushi was a little fishy tasting and the fried rice tasted like it had been over cooked in a rice cooker mixed with oil. My family thought it was decent. Service was great & music mix had it going on. On to the next Sushi place here in Cedar Hill.

On a whim I decided to stop in. We all know that when the sushi siren calls you better answer. So with a smile on my face chuffed to bits at the mere thought that I may no longer have to leave my area to nab sushi, I go in with an open mind longing for a good experience. What I got was a great experience customer service wise through the waiter, but the chef was SLLLOOOOWWWW. I mean Yertle the Turtle slow. I was hoping with all hope that the chef was just obsessive compulsive because I was literally the only order during late lunch. Speaking of ordering, I was disappointed that they did not have Salmon Roe on the menu. That was a big let down, but I just sucked it up and chose from the vast menu in front of me. I must say that when I got my food, I had hush my mouth a bit. The presentation was nice enough, and the miso soup looked very much like miso, but I thought the flavors spoke for themselves and were pretty good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but still really good. Also, there was something I just really liked about the interior decorating. It felt kind of cozy in a strange way. Look, Avocado is not groundbreaking flavor wise, nor it is ultra-chic, but it is a decent sushi joint in the suburbs on the Southside with great customer service, decent décor that won’t offend the fashionable, and decent sushi in the suburbs despite having the slowest sushi chef on the planet. I’ll take it! :)
