I hired the company to build my playground. It was supposed to take 1 day. They showed up late and didn’t finish. The next day they came back to finish and still did not. They left trash and cigarette butts all over my yard. The playground is crooked and has screws sticking out of it every where. They also didn’t follow instructions and some how built a picnic table out of the parts and the set doesn’t even have a picnic table. The next day they were supposed to come finish and didn’t show up, call or email. They won’t respond to any of my calls or emails either.

Great if you like shady business practices. Not so good if you value your time or money. I made an appointment to have my Ikea bed repaired, paid in advance, and got an appointment confirmation saying that the tech would arrive at 11am(within a 1-hour window). I moved around work plans to accommodate the appointment, and when the tech didn’t arrive by 12:15, I emailed to check in. Soon after, I got a call saying«the technician was supposed to check his schedule, but I guess he didn’t.» They offered to reschedule, but I didn’t want to lose any more time to this(nor did I want to do business with a business that operates this way — they didn’t even call me to let me know, I had to email them myself!) so I asked for a refund. I later emailed to follow up, and was told that my refund would be processed that day. Fast forward a week(and another ignored email), and I got a call today telling me that they’d issue a refund, minus $ 50 because I(???) cancelled the appointment(which is funny, as I didn’t realize that their employee not checking their schedule and never showing up would mean that I’m at fault). They wanted to charge me $ 50FOR A SERVICE I NEVERRECEIVED. Filed a chargeback with AmEx as I don’t want to spend any more time or energy dealing with this, but wanted to warn folks who are considering doing business with them: be careful.

Bad Experience! Beware! Poor customer service and communication! Dishonest pricing! Based on Unilocal review, I decided to give this company a try and submitted a request for a price quote on their website late in the evening. I included a link to the webpage showing the piece of furniture to be assembled, so they could know exactly what the specs were. It was a simple, quick job. The next morning there was a response with a quote of $ 90 and an offer for a 10AM appointment the same day and a request to confirm the appt. I wrote back and accepted. I also took the extra step of phoning the company and leaving them a voicemail, as nobody picked up, to accept the appointment and ask about payment options, which were not mentioned in their email. Ten o’clock came, but Furniture Assemble Experts LLC did not. I waited, called again, but no answer, then I gave up. Later in the afternoon, I rcvd a second email with a price quote of $ 120 for the same job! I phoned again, and this time got a person on the line. I explained what happened, and the confusion over the price. The customer service rep was pleasant and apologetic and offered me another appointment time for 6PM tomorrow. She explained that it was actually a one-hour window, and that somebody would arrive between 6 – 7PM. While that makes sense, the one-hour window was never mentioned in the email offering me the 10AM appointment today. I asked which price, and she said the original lower price of $ 90. I said that I had already been burned today by accepting an appointment that was not honored, and requested a discount for my trouble. She put me on hold, presumably to get approval. Denied! After a long hold, I was told that the first email offering me the 10AM appointment had been sent at 7:49AM, and because I had not responded within one hour, the appointment«was not put in the system». This policy of appointments being timed out within one hour was never mentioned in their email to me. Furthermore, it was explained that $ 90 is their minimum service fee, just for coming out to the house, which tells me that they were able to tell from the weblink I had sent that it was simple, quick job, not worth the $ 120 of the second price quote they sent today. If they really wanted me as a customer, they would have taken responsibility for the lack of communication and offered to make it up to me for wasting my time this morning by offering even a nominal discount, which the customer service rep I spoke to was not empowered to do. I decided to pass on the appointment that was offered for tomorrow because the company has already lost my trust by giving me the run around over what should have been a simple transaction. Between the 3 phone calls and 3 emails, this was a big waste of my time, and saving time was the whole point of hiring them to do a simple job in the first place! Boo!

To say I was impressed is an understatement. I am thoroughly happy with the service I received. Dave was on time and competed the assembly of my television stand very quickly. After the assembly was completed, he offered some commentary on where to place the tv stand to help maximize the space in my living room. I first decided I wanted the stand in one location so he put it there, but then I decided on another location moved it. Of course I apologized for being such a pain. But if you really want to talk about great customer service, I haven’t even mentioned the most impressive thing. I seriously had cables and cords running all over my place. It was the most unsightly thing you could imagine. Dave helped minimize the visible cords and he even stapled down my cable cord so I wouldn’t trip over it as much as I did before. It’s one thing to get what you paid for but to get more than that is amazing. I haven’t been able to stop admiring my tv stand and the nonexistent sight of cables and cords everywhere. 5 stars just aren’t enough for the service I received. I would certainly recommend Furniture Assembly Experts to others and I will be using them again.
