Sandy’s Famous Hot Dogs

Absolutely nothing fancy. I’m talking your basic chili dogs or slaw dogs. The ice cream is great, though. But it’s a bit pricy. For a lunch of 2 chili dogs, a bag of chips, and a drink, I paid $ 8.

Man, it seems like for years I’ve been looking for an opportunity to try Sandy’s Famous Hot Dogs. For years I’ve been receiving the weekly fliers in the mail, even down in Sumter, and have made a mental note to try them one of these days. I love hot dogs.
I finally spotted one yesterday that was easy to get to from work so came for lunch today and feel like I’ve been robbed. Not of value, per se, but of time. All those years I wasted wishing for one of Sandy’s «famous» hot dogs… for what?
The only real options are ‘chili dog’ and ‘slaw dog’, in the ¼ and 1/​8lb sizes. That’s it. I was expecting, for someone’s hot dogs to be so ‘famous’, more choices. Like at a Der Dog Hause, or something similar. Oh, I do remember seeing a Chicago Dog on Sandy’s menu as well, but it didn’t even have celery salt on it.
I got the ¼lb chili dog and, to be honest, I wasn’t impressed. It tasted like something you’d get at a gas station — which isn’t inedible, by any means, but it was pretty lackluster.
And the bathroom felt like I was in a horror flick… I kept checking the mirror to ensure there wasn’t someone standing over my shoulder.
