So the other day I was driving to Centre, AL and went through the little town of Cave Springs, GA. Typical little GA town, not really anything special until I saw a sign that said FUDGE. I love fudge and stopped for a bite. While walking down the street, I saw Linde Marie’s Steakhouse and looked inside to see a nicely appointed little place. I thought that if I was ever in the area, well, I would stop back by. Something bothered me though, for some reason I decided that I really wanted to try this place out. So, on Friday the 13th of November, I started the trek from Atlanta to Cave Springs at 6PM to eat at Linde Marie’s. After and hour and a half drive, I was there, walked in and promptly seated, greeted and served my first class of Wonderful sweet tea. Then the fun began. First thing on the table after tea was their Steakhouse Crostinis. Nothing can be said about this item that does it justice. It was perfection. Flavorful and amazingly pleasing. Highly suggested if you want to enjoy something unique from very common ingredients. The second act was the so common filet, baked potato and coleslaw,(I know, coleslaw? What can I say, I love the stuff) The problem was that nothing about this meal was common. The filet was prepared to my rather difficult standards. The tiny line of pink was an indication of the chef’s flawless technique. This was a thick cut of meat, properly prepared and the chef did it without the common technique of butterflying the cut. To me that indicates someone who has reached a level of skill that is to be admired. The main course and accompanying sides were no less than amazing. Probably the best combo I have enjoyed this year. I love steak, I have been known to drive 12 hours on a weekend to enjoy the a good steak. Now, I know it is just an hour up the road. You have to try it, you’ll hate yourself for waiting so long. Desert, cheesecake, not homemade, but still a very good item. My dinner companion’s meal was also prepared to an amazing level of excellence. Bottom-line, this is what a dining experience is suppose to be, flawless food, served by a wonderfully friendly server who knows her companies product and presents options for optimizing your meal. My server, btw, was as flawless as my meal with her service. I would rank this a this years premier dining experience and it did not break the bank. This is not the Capital Grill, the atmosphere is totally different. But the meal is every bit as good if not slightly better than the Capital grill for half the cost. You’ll hate yourself if you do not go.

Snuggled in an historic building in quaint Cave Springs worth the time to enjoy a great steak, fresh salad, and comfort fare. Well prepared and beautifully presented. Friendly service. I look forward to coming back.

We went to Linde Marie’s with friends last weekend and it was so good we went back again tonight. The rib eye steak is one of the best I’ve ever had(second to only my wife’s). I’m sure this will become our favorite restaurant in the area as the appetizers are just as good as the entrée’s. The people are wonderful as well. Warm and welcoming. Great job!
