We thought we would try the new restaurant. Bad idea! Sad attempt at Italian cuisine. Music in the background was Johnny Cash singing«A Boy Named Sue» and an ear getting bitten off. Not appetizing. The assistance with paying the bill on a hand held device was a problem. The waitress left the table and it was up to us to figure it out. No receipt since we do not give out our email address and the restaurant does not give out receipts at time of payment. The bread was stale and cold, the pasta over cooked. It was way over priced. Next time we want Italian we will go back to the other Italian restaurant that has authentic Italian food.

We decided to have dinner here on Friday night since it was nearby where we were staying in Takilma. We had an absolutely wonderful experience, and we’ll definitely come back here next time we’re in town. When we entered the restaurant we were promptly greeted and seated. My younger brother is a very picky eater and usually just gets buttered noodles, but he wanted to try alfredo sauce this time around, and they not only said they could put the sauce on the side for him, but they offered to bring out a sample of the sauce so he could try it to see if he liked it before ordering it. They brought out a hot sample of their alfredo sauce, and it was to die for, so we ordered one plate of linguine with alfredo sauce, one plate of spaghetti with alredo sauce, and one plate of lasagna. All of our meals came with fresh bread, and everything tasted home made and delicious. The portion sizes were huge, too! A few days later we went to Crescent City and had pasta with alfredo sauce, and we were so disappointed because it tasted awful compared to the fresh homemade alfredo sauce we had at Fanelli’s. We rounded off our wonderful meal at Fanelli’s with a slice of homemade cheesecake, which our wonderful waitress made extra special by adding chocolate syrup to it for my younger brother! Really, I cannot say enough wonderful things about this restaurant.

Stopped along the way to Crescent City for a bite– it’s a fun, quaint place that’s brightly lit with open windows & ‘winery-esque’ color scheme. Staff is very friendly & prompt in service. About the only thing that feels not so Italian is the music– it’s more folk-country ish lol. Salad’s pretty tame, but nice & green– & their mustard-dill dressing is tasty & refreshing. Then there’s their eggplant parmesan– which comes with choice of pasta, sauce & garlic bread. The eggplant is nice & tender, the crust still has some crunch to it, the marinara has a wonderful freshness to it, & the cheese is that perfect meaty consistency. The pasta on the side’s cooked perfectly al dente & the pesto’s got a great ‘bite’ of parsley, garlic, & fruity olive oil to it. The bread is certainly interesting– more like a savory cake or scone than bread. The tiramisu looks wonderful– I can’t wait to dig into the rum-soaked deliciousness! And everything, including tax & tip, was a little over $ 20! Definitely well worth the experience & recommended for anyone passing through Cave Junction.

Great addition to Cave Junction. Love the rotating specials and seasonal, local ingredients. Happy to see them featuring local winemakers too!

Just got into town on vacation and wanted to try something different. My parents live here so we’ve been coming to CJ for over 20 years. First off the waitress looked over worked so we were not greeted in a timely manner. She looked like the only one serving tables at the time. She was friendly and gave us menus to look at for us to take out. I ordered 4 ravioli plates, 2 with meat sauce, 1 potabella special, 1 pasta with butter and cheese, calamari, cheese sticks, and the stuffed pepper’s. First off, we were given tortilini instead of ravioli because they ran out. But we were not asked if it was ok until we went to pick up(they did have a phone # to contact me when order was ready) marinara tasted liked canned tomatoes, my potabella pasta was over cooked, the portabella did not compliment the marinara sauce, maybe a cream sauce would’ve been tastier. My daughter’s pasta with butter was swimming in grease, the calamari and cheese sticks were greasy. For the price we paid it was not worth it at all. The only thing half way decent were the cheese stuffed peppers. Also the waitress was asked by a customer what the tiramisu was and she was not able to accurately describe it. I really wanted to like this place. Cave Junction needs some decent places to eat, but this one just didn’t cut it. We will stick to pizza next time.
