I was treated extremely rudely by an employee at this location who said her name was«Angel». While in the process of checking out, she said to me a in a very rude tone that I needed to swipe my card again. I explained that the card reader still read processing. Angel said in the most condescending voice possible«Swipe it again. What do you think I am lying to you?» I had to ask her again what she said because I was completely taken back. I explained to her that customer facing jobs are probably not her forte and left. CVS will be getting my business from now on even though it is a mile further.

This store is located on Paradise and Frederick in the same shopping center as the Pizza Hut and Thai Heaven, the parking is fair, the only trouble is that at times it is difficult to leave due to the traffic. Unfortunately, I don’t frequent this location often. I should though. I love the fact that every time I come in someone cheerfully greets me. It’s also pretty awesome that the pharmacy workers are always available to help you and answer any and all questions that you have. The store is super clean, and organized, staff are amazing. What’s not to like?

This Rite Aid is within walking distance of my house. I have been there several times over the past year to pick up odds and ends and it has always been a pleasant experience — until last week. On my lunch break, I walked over to Rite Aid to purchase a birthday card for my friend. When I walked into the greeting card aisle, two Rite Aid employees were standing at the opposite end of the aisle having a conversation. As I looked at cards, one of them called out to me «have you gotten your flu shot yet?» I responded that I didn’t have my flu shot yet because my employer has a nurse come and give all the employees flu shots for free every fall. To this, one of the employees responded that my flu shot could also be free at Rite Aid and that we could just take care of it right now. I was starting to get upset and told the employee that I did not want to deal with this right now. Then the employee asked me what type of insurance I had — still calling out to me from the end of the aisle. I cannot believe how incredibly rude this was — why are we talking about my private, medical care concerns in the middle of the greeting card aisle??? I told the employees to mind their own business and I left the store. I cannot believe how incredibly intrusive this experience was to me — I was just shopping for a greeting card. I will not patronize this Rite Aid again.

I’m downgrading this place in my estimation, largely because they have no regular pharmacists – it’s a different crew every time I go in. I do like the other employees, and the store is at a very convenient location for me. I also don’t appreciate the fact that they are pushing the new Plenti card on customers, in which they share more information about us more widely. Rite Aid as a whole is showing no respect for customers. My *former* review: — — — — — — — — – This is a small, very friendly, store with an excellent pharmacy. The pharmacists know their patients’ names and once one of their pharmacists caught a mistake made by an MD that would have been seriously detrimental to me. Plus, they’re within walking distance of my house, next to Thai Heaven, and on a decent walking route between my house and UMBC. With the Rite Aid loyalty card, much of the merchandise within the store is at good prices.
