Wow! I ordered macaroni and cheese and a side salad. The side salad was fine, but the Mac n cheese was Kraft style Mac n Cheese(I think it was the sea shell Kraft pasta). I spent $ 10 on this little slice of childhood nostalgia, which is about $ 8 more than I should have spent. Having said that, I was delightfully stunned that anyone would actually serve Kraft Mac n Cheese in a restaurant. I’ll never forget this incredible and weird experience. Unfortunately, I also don’t think that I’ll return for their, ahem, fresh made pasta.

Was super disappointed at this bland and boring meal. I had a Caesar salad which was nothing more than bag lettuce with the little grated Parmesan on top that wasn’t even fresh. Then a pasta fettuccine with frozen chicken slices that look like they were from Costco. It also had some boiled broccoli florettes that were mushy and bland. The only reason I gave it to stars was because of the fresh bread they brought out at the end of our meal. It was warm and tasty and soft. The only redeeming quality, won’t be back.

If I could give no star I would. Not for the food though as this place isn’t too bad but rather for their poor service & utter disregard for parents. This is NOT a place to go if you have children. I have a 6 year old and an 8 month old. After we ordered and paid but before our food came, my 8 mo old needed to have her wet diaper changed. Problem… There is no changing table in the restroom. All of the tables have chairs no booths. The weather outside was about 38 degrees so that wasn’t an option either. I proceeded to put out my changing items(changing pad first) on our own table which by the way has a vinyl tablecloth. Maria the Mgr came to say I could not change my baby on the table because sanitary reasons and thus she suggested pulling a chair into the restroom and changing her on the chair!!! when I said that’s not possible she said push two chairs together and change her. Are you fkm? First the chairs are small with round seats. Second, it’s not safe for a baby. She said they are not required to have a changing table. She’s probably right they are not required but if they consider themselves a family restaurant then the owner needs to step up and provide it. I mean c’mon it’s $ 150 to install a wall mounted changing station! I demanded my money back and left… never to return again and vowed to tell all the mom groups and as many people with kids to boycott this establishment and all others who do not offer a simple changing station in the restroom.

I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was very tasty. I could taste the fresh garlic and the pasta was cooked al dente just like I it. Although not five stars because the bread taster like it had been out for a while. Overall very satisfied though!

We come here often and it is always good. The prices are decent and the staff is nice. I recommend the Spaghetti Pormadoro. There is almost never a wait and the food comes out quickly.

My favorite place in CV. Great as a sitdown restaurant or as food to go. It always has plenty of people eating there because the prices are reasonable and the quality is always high.

Ordered togo the food was cold and the portion was small. It takes me about 5 mins to get home so i see no reason why the food was cold but they cooker it beforehand and left there. Was so not worth 12 bucks. Really regret leaving a tip.

Quite a few of my older friends come here so I thought I’d give it a try. I had classic spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were fine. The sauce however was bland and just a bit odd in flavor. I like supermarket sauces like Prego a lot better. The garlic bread was uninspired to me. For an Italian restaurant I’d hope for more, way more.

First time here. The food was delicious but they really do need to work on customer service. Especially th cashier. The cooks were wonderful and looked eager to serve us!

My gf n i come here often because its such a great deal for lunch. And its delicious! Most of the pasta is really bomb, but my all time favorite is the sausage fettachini Alfredo. Its only $ 8.99 and it comes with a drink and UNLIMITED bread. I tend to cause a bread drought when im there. The portion for a guy like me is not that big, so i ask to add extra pasta for $ 1.25 which fills me up. Although my gf gets full with the regular portion. So if you’re a big eater ask extra. Overall the restaurant is clean and so are the bathrooms. The staff is friendly too.

Summary: painfully bland pasta, promising bread bar, comfortable patio, and decent salad. But the pasta was really… so. blah. After welcoming a puppy into our lives, my husband and I are ever on the lookout for a well-priced dinner date venue that will accommodate our doggy. After driving by Rigatoni’s on Castro Valley Boulevard many times, we spotted giftcards at Costco($ 40 for $ 50-worth of giftcards) and thought it was high time to give this place a try. While we were checking out the patio, a server opened the back gate for us, so my husband could get settled outside with our pup while I ordered inside. Props to the welcoming and helpful staff for bringing us in and getting us ordering right away! The menu is not super extensive, but it covers your Italian-American basics. Husband opted for spaghetti and meatballs, while I went for something lighter(chicken salad). We also shared an appetizer of cheesy bread. The highlight of the meal was definitely the service and my salad. The salad had grilled chicken, which was served with aesthetically pleasing grill marks and not over-cooked or dry. I was a happy camper with my salad. The cheesy garlic bread was nothing remarkable… would’ve been fun to have some marinara sauce on the side for dipping? While I liked the idea of the unlimited bread bar, one can only eat so many small slices of sourdough, wheat, and brown bread before one realizes this is all a ploy to make you overlook the terribly mediocre pasta. Husband’s spaghetti and meatballs looked average. But don’t be fooled by the looks. The noodles were mushy. The sauce had no flavor. The meatball was also really bland. No amount of hot pepper flakes could salvage the tasteless pile of meat and carb mush we were served, even though I loved how much the server was doting on our puppy and was super helpful toward us. You’re much better off buying frozen meatballs and jarred sauce from Trader Joe’s. It would probably be much cheaper, too! Our meal of salad, pasta, cheesy bread, and $ 3 wine was over $ 30. Unfortunately, we still have some funds left on our gift card to spend. I’ll probably pick up another grilled chicken salad takeout? Not planning to come back for pasta. Maybe we’ll be back for more $ 3 wine and unlimited bread?

Recently brought a group of 11 here and their staff was just so accommodating and awesome! Though we were hesitant with it being a chain, they did not disappoint… They’re a chain because they did something right. Parmesan chicken was delish. Also their chicken portobello mushroom was yumminess in the Hubby’s tummy. We are also a fan of their endless bread bar I forgot our waitress’ name but she was awesome!

Great spot for kids. Order at the counter, bread bar is addictive. Serve yourself soda. Lunch specials starting at $ 7. Pasta is basic, sauces are good. We come here to avoid cooking and have not been disappointed. We love their lasagna.

We come here every Monday for dinner. The food is great and fast for a reasonable price. On Mondays, you get a Rigatoni dollar for each meal. The staff are friendly and courteous. Try the Canneloni! It was awesome! They do not have it on the regular menu, just the specials.

Easy place to eat at especially if you have kids. Very casual, can go in your sweats and house slippers. Good quality food. I always get the ½ combo which is a half salad and half size pasta which comes with a drink and all you can eat bread from the bread bar; only $ 9.99. Kids combos cost $ 6.99, can’t go wrong with spaghetti. Decently portioned, not too much where I can actually finish everything on the plate. The Alfredo wasn’t to creamy and rich but still savory.

Not impressed. Food was marginal and service was nothing special. I would rather go to a Olive Garden and that’s saying a lot.

The chicken Caesar is amazing! D or Dee(don’t quite know how to spell it) was an amazing help too. The menu changed just last week and she informed me of what changes were made and also informed me that some of the prices changed too. To say the least from the moment I walked in the door it felt like walking into my own home. Humble people, great attitude and super fast service. Thanks!

Normal service. Seems like a hit or miss place. Pasta shrimp mushroom was Okay. I don’t think i Would return because I feel like I can find something better. Good with the garlic bread because the pasta seemed like it didn’t have much flavor and thats why I ate it with the bread.

This used to be a place I’d frequent in Castro Valley after going to the cinema. I would order their pasta primavera or chicken Alfredo pasta. Over the years, the food has lost some of its consistency. I have been there a few times where the pasta was overdone or the dish watered down. If it weren’t for these experiences, I would have given this place a four star because the cashiers are very friendly and welcoming.

So Amazing! You can never go wrong at Rigatoni’s! The only thing I get is the chicken pesto and pinenuts– I been getting it for over 9 years now and have never been disappointed. Also, they have a bread bar… delicious! The service and staff are great. I’ve came to this location for eat in, take out and in a large party(about 10 people) and have never been disappointed any of the times. I also brought friends here from out of town and they loved it too! You can pay a small fee and get double the pasta.
