Out of the three thai places in castro valley(i believe there is three) this one is the best ! Great service and fresh food.

I thought the soup was very good. Onions, Green Onions, Carrots, Tofu, Cabbage… all really quite delicious. The Calamari Fritters were good. I was pleased to see big pieces of squid with light breading. The sauce was slightly sweet. The tofu Pad See Ew was tasty and fresh, but some of the noodles were stuck together in lumps. Still, the flavor was delicious. We haven’t eaten a lot of Thai since moving to the Bay Area. I think we may need to make this a new focus. Look for a new Thai list coming from me after we check out a few more.

I dont know about the 3.5 stars but this is almost a 5(less 1 for being a little pricey). They are so much better than the one close to CVS is CV Blvd. Their crew is way too friendly compared to that Thai place mentioned. Food is fresh, very well prepared and tasty! LOVE this place, except they are short staffed at times.

They were nice enough, the place was kinda empty for a Friday night. But 3 stars because allmthe noodles were soggy! Deal breaker, the rice was ok nothing great about nothing. The wine glasses were tiny like a sample from Costco lol! The thai tea was better. Over all I wont come back.

Not only is the food exceptional, so are the people who run it. I went to Thailand and when I got back I was a Thai food snob! But this place is fantastic!

We came here for a daddy/daughter date night and feel like we picked the perfect place. The food was flavorful and authentic, the staff was very friendly, and the interior was bright and welcoming. We recommend the chicken satay, delicious soups and garlic fried rice.

I love thai food, I’ve tried all the places in this are a and this is by far my least favorite. I say this because the sauce for the friend tofu was really subpar, too sweet, no spice or chili flavor as you would expect. The tofu satay was good but the sauce was peanut and VERY sweet, inedible. Peanut butter is sweet enough, they should thin it out with a bit of coconut milk and add some spice to it so it has dimension of some sort. I ordered the pad thai vegetarian style and it was full of noodles and zero sauce, I didn’t even have one piece of tofu on the entire dish and this was supposed to substitute tofu. The final thing I ordered was the tofu salad which has the sickly sweet peanut sauce again, gag. I won’t be returning. Also they don’t have to go menus, online menus, I was told to take photos of their menu while I was waiting for my food. Hmmm… no thanks.

Food was flavorful. Service was extremely friendly. I have ate at multiple Thai restaurants and I’m not going to say this place blew my socks off but it was worth what I paid. Got green curry and it had eggplant in it which was ok but maybe next time I’ll stick with the yellow curry

This is fair to middling. Not great. Not bad. $ 28 before tip for two people for lunch — with water and lemon to drink — kind of off putting. The yellow chicken curry was yellow. The brown rice was brown. Beyond that the flavor was pretty nondescript. The pad thai was good but a bit sweet for my fancy. Not sure we would come back. But if I was starving and had to choose between this and the nasty Shari’s restaurant next door I suppose I would.

Situated in a busy strip mall across from Starbucks and a Sushi place is this sweet little spot in Castro Valley. Easy to enter with no pretensions. Clean with some outdoor seating as well. For this strip mall the options for non-franchise are few. So this tends to be a go to place for me though not my favorite thai For lunch I went with the green curry. It had a fine taste, the rice was right. Price average. The soup they served before the meal was the highlight for me. A nice kick to it on a cold day. I’ve eaten here a couple times and it gets a 3 because I’ve had better thai in other cities. But if you know thai, it’s tricky — there are a lot of varieties.

Not good. Not bad. Just misses the mark for Thai food. Very bland yellow curry. It was not at all spicy and I had to ask for salt. The vegetables tempura should have had a lighter, crispier coating of batter, rather than the heavy, grainy batter I associate with fast-food onion rings. Beef BBQ or satay was okay but just got three small pieces per order. The décor is colorful and charming. Too bad the decorator isn’t doing the cooking.

On the night I went, the owner was sweet, but the help was not so sure of herself and what she was doing. Place is clean. Food was good but nothing special to me. I personally have a love of Panang curry with pork. They only have salmon panang, so I opted for the red curry with pork. Again, ok, but nothing special to me. I will probably go back to try other dishes.

My family enjoys eating lunch here. The seating is comfortable, and there are always a few patrons. Never crowded. We frequently order the chicken satay, green curry, and the spicy eggplant dishes. Friendly service every single time.

I’m not a big fan of Thai food but this little store always fought my eye, decided to give it a try and did not regret doing it! Got the pa Lee moo(or whatever you call it) was absolutely delicious! Also the peanut souce so good! Highly recommended!

Cozy, sweet, and always open! This has quickly become our go-to spot in casto valley for thai food. The food is great(I’ve ordered all the noodle dishes and soups — they’re superb) but it’s the service that puts this amongst the best. The crying tiger is one of my recent favorites as it hits the mark with it’s citrus and vinegar punch. The restaurant keeps dishes simple and none go over the top. Noon(the owner’s name) is SO friendly. Her and the staff make coming to lime leaf an enjoyable and comfortable experience every time.

I tried this place for lunch once. The menu had great choices but when the orders arrived the portions were small. To top it off, the waitress acted like I should inhale my food and be gone, even though there was only one other guest there and she was a teacher grading papers! I gulped down my meal, left the obligated tip, and haven’t been back.

Food = 2 stars, Staff = 1 star The staff here was very nice and accommodating but everyone in my lunch party thought the food was bland or overcooked(really soggy broccoli). Either that or it wasn’t the freshest veggies, not sure which. In my opinion, the spices of Thai food are one of the reasons I love it so much; so for me to find the food bland is a real let down. Definitely not worth the price. I will not be returning. I do however agree that a «kid menu» is not necessary. Even if your kid won’t eat veggies in sauces they’re not used to, you can still give them white rice and bbq chicken or tofu if vegetarian. You should not go into a Thai restaurant expecting them to serve hot dogs and nuggets with fries.

I am familiar with thai food and when I enjoyed their Tom Kah soup with prawns I could help the slight disappointment I felt. The portion size is smaller then hot pot size and the recipe is sweeter than anticipated. I’ll order it spicy next time. A bonus was that the soup was thicker than expected. All in all it satisfied my hunger. Neither amazing nor horrible. Great for a quick lunch. Meh

Wow, I’ve left a review before that was all good but I have to add that I just tried the calamari and it is perfectly cooked and spot on for flavor. Their dipping sauce is also fantastic.

I really enjoy this place– I stop by when my husband is not available for dinner because he does not enjoy Thai food like I do. There are a couple of outdoor tables for those nice east bay nights– not the best view but I love enjoying my food with a nice breeze. I love larb chicken– I think they call it the mint leaf salad with minced chicken. They make a great one here that has a nice flavor and not too much lettuce. I have also enjoyed the curries, especially the green curry because it has eggplant. Even though I am a beef girl, I usually add chicken because it seems to soak up the flavors better.
