Holiday Inn Express Castro Valley

I’m surprised to see reviews criticising the staff. I found them to be quite possibly the friendliest I’ve run into. The manager in particular was very helpful and funny.
Otherwise, the hotel was clean, the rooms were nice and had reasonably comfortable beds. The gym was small but served its purpose (although the floor was far too slippery for a workout room). The breakfast was, honestly, nothing special but was good in a pinch. Parking was fine — the hotel was completely booked and still there were plenty of spaces available. There are also a number of good hole-​in-​the-​wall restaurants in the immediate area, and access to the 238 and 580 freeways was close and easy.
If I had any complaint, it was that I thought the rate was a little high, but I’d definitely stay here again.

Do not go to this hotel the manager is very rude and instead of treating you as a guest she will speak to you as a child. Be fore warned.

Very clean very hospitable staff and very easy checking in and checking out.
Not a big hotel so rooms hard to find in short notice. Planning ahead is worth the price.
Breakfast included for everyone, warm and fresh.
I keep coming back because they have everything I need for my business trips.
I recommend this hotel to all business travelers.

The rooms are pretty nice, could use a little speuce but overall, its nice, clean and comfy. The breakfast was yummy. I would have given 5 stars if the management was a little nicer. They’re kinda rude and fake

I changed my reservation to a different date. I was unable to keep that reservation. I tried to cancel the reservation 4 days prior to my stay. I have left several messages and was on hold for over 40 mins. waiting on a manager and was disconnected. I am now out a 173 bucks.
Moral of the story. DON’T STAY AT CASTRO VALLEY HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. You will get better service at the Bates Motel.

Damn, this place has some good breakfast!
Haha, me and my family went to a New Years party close by and decided to stay here rather than drive home. Avoid the drunk drivers and such. The room was clean, had everything we needed, and worked out well. The staff was nice, greeting us when we arrived, making sure we had what we needed.
The breakfast… Probably one of the better breakfasts ive had at a hotel. Definitely more than i ever expected from a Holiday Inn. They had cooked hot breakfast. Really? Yep. Eggs, sausage, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, cereal, yogurt, etc etc… Such a nice selection, and refilled pretty regularly.
Will definitely return… great little place.

Rude management never have I been treated so poorly.

The management and staff are very welcoming and caring. I have stayed at this hotel for several weeks. I could stay at any hotel I want and I choose to stay here. I am very satisfied with the rooms and service. The rooms are very clean and up to date. If you want to stay at a safe and clean hotel, this is the right choice. There are plenty of food options near by. The hotel can find recommendations to suite your needs. I would have to say that my favorite part of my stay is the people who work here. They try to make you feel at home.

This is a nice hotel, with friendly staff, clean rooms, etc. For the everyday business traveler (or even vacationer), this is a good hotel to stay at. Convenient to the highways with a nice selection of restaurants in the area. This is a can’t go wrong choice.

I recently stayed at this hotel during my trip to Hayward. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. The room was a good size and was thoroughly cleaned. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were soft. I was not able to partake in the complementary breakfast due to a lack of time on my part, but it looked and smelled delicious.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again!

I thought this hotel had a different name– but I knew my parents had stayed here numerous times when visiting. We had emergency sewage drama– and needed a place to stay for all four of us. Rooms are clean and relatively spacious. There is a hot breakfast included, free wifi, — small gym and a hot tub. Free parking — I think it’s a great deal. Though I can’t see staying here again– we live a mile away… It’s a great place to stay in this area.

Friendly and extremely helpful staff. The room was clean and quiet. I appreciate the helpful attitude of Omar and Shandon. They were both great. I would definitely recommend this fir anyone planning a trip to the Castro Valley area. The breakfast had a good selection (I am not a big breakfast eater) eggs, cereal (hit and cold) muffins, juice etc.

This is a great hotel to stay at if your in the Oakland area. The staff is great, spacious rooms, close to the freeway and nice and clean. This place used to be Comfort Suites and it changed to Holiday Inn. But still same great staff. And it’s close to a lot of shopping areas and restaurants.
