My daughter went to castro valley performing arts for a year. Her dance teacher was great and she really enjoyed it. However, when it came to rehearsal time my opinion changed. It wasn’t so much with the school itself, but more so with the ownership. I had bought my rehearsal tickets from one of the owners named Janet. I have interacted with her in the past and she isn’t very friendly. When i met her to buy the tickets, I felt as though she was talking down to me and irritated at my presence. I asked her if i could request sitting in the back the day of the rehearsal since I would be bringing my 10 month old daughter and she told me she would strongly request that I DONOT bring her at all. I would never bring a crying baby to a performance and understand when it is time to walk out of a room if an infant is acting out, hence my request to sit in the very back. It was the WAY she said it to me. Then after i pay her 80 $ to see my daughters performance, she doesn’t even thank me. I really feel the owner Janet does not appreciate her clients. As parents, we want our kids to thrive and be active. We pay a lot of money for activities such as Dance which I plan to have my daughter continue for a long time. Her attitude made me change schools where our business is valued. My daughter now goes to Michelle’s Dance Explosion and we LOVE it. Very professional, friendly, and talented staff. So excited for our change. I hope Janet has a chance to read this and understand the loss in revenue she will be receiving simply from being a rude person. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has had an issue with her. Good Luck Janet.
