Good Lord, jai gives a SUPERB deep-tissue massage. Sorry to hear other Unilocalers didn’t have the experience they were looking for. If you’re looking for serious deep-tissue massage, the kind that leaves your body feeling like its been transformed, than jai is your massage therapist.

I am not someone that takes any pleasure in posting negative reviews. I am an understanding individual that realizes challenges and mistakes happen. One thing I refuse to tolerate are scam artist however and will do what is necessary to expose them. I bought my mother a gift certificate that expires on 7⁄28 on Amazon Local. The owner named Jai told my mother that she waited too long to schedule her appointment and that he would not honor the certificate. He was rude to my mother and was condescending in his tone. After hearing about this from my mother who rarely ever complains about anything, I called this Jai character inquiring to see if there were any openings for my girlfriend that week. Jai let me know that he could make time for her that same day catching him in the hypocrisy of his own words. I proceeded to report this thief to Amazon and because of my long, loyal history with Amazon, a refund was immediately given to me. In all my years buying from Groupon/Amazon, this is the first time I have ever run into a situation like this. Jai might very well be a phenomenal massage therapist that is great at his craft. He is however a con artist and dishonest. I will be reporting him to the BBB as well. There are plenty of other options when it comes to MT providers in this city. Avoid this scammer at all cost. This was one of the best massage experiences I have had. I used a living social voucher for a 60 minute hot stone massage — and it really was incredible. In addition to the massage itself, I loved the atmosphere of the space and their customer service. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a holistic, personalized service.

I purchased a massage through this company and scheduled it for December. Sadly I was informed that morning that a family member had passed and I needed to get home immediately. I contacted this company and talked to the owner/therapist. I explained the situation and he was very nice. I asked whether or not I could reschedule without consequence and if I couldn’t I would squeeze in the massage regardless as to not lose my money. He told me it was not a problem and I would not be penalized and I could just call back and reschedule. I thanked him very much for understanding. Today I contacted him to reschedule. He acted as though our previous conversation had never occurred. He told me that he has had a high number of cancellations and kept acting as though rescheduling was going to be an issue. I don’t appreciate being generalized and I even offered to get him a copy of the obituary. The confrontation alone made me very uncomfortable and this is the same person that would be performing the massage. He was very unprofessional and dishonest. He did not want to honor our previous conversation. A company that leads you to believe that you can trust their word so that they don’t have to actually provide the service later should not be allowed to continue to deceive future clients.

I have heard of Ancient Art and Jai for a while now, and was delighted to be able to purchase a Groupon deal for my first visit. I do get massages on a fairly regular basis, have experience with many different therapists/modalities of massage, am a Reiki Master Practitioner, and have taken a Thai massage course(I am not a massage therapist). I preface my review with the above info to say that I am a somewhat informed consumer when it comes to rating LMTs, and I rate Jai as one of the best. The ambiance was serene and peaceful; the music was lovely and not distracting at all. The space’s energy is serene; I could tell that the utmost love and care had been used in creating the décor. Jai and I talked for several minutes about what my specific concerns and needs would be for our session. As I’ve been living with some back pain for a while now, I was hoping that along with some relaxation, I might get some relief from the pain as well. The massage I received was stellar. Jai focused on exactly the trouble areas we discussed, without neglecting the rest. His use of heat and stones were the perfect addition to the massage and I stayed virtually pain-free all afternoon! The relaxation and therapeutic were seamlessly combined to create a whole-body/mind/spirit experience that exceeded my expectations. I would recommend Ancient Art without reservation!

He had great reviews on how great he was for a massage. So I called him and asked for a same day massage but he was booked(no problem), but he shceduled me next day(today June 2nd) at 5pm! I wrote it on my notebook and I put reminder on my phone. Also, he called me earlier today around 10 am. I was unable to answer because I was at work. So! I listen to voicemail and he is just calling to let me know that«I will see you at 5pm». In the voicemail he doesn’t ask for me to call back. It was just a reminder message. So I do not call back. I get to my appointment at 4:45pm(15mins early) Front door locked(think to myself«maybe he doesn’t have a receptionist) Knock… Nothing «maybe his with another client» I go back to car. Try to call him. No answer I wait 5mins. I go back. still locked. KEEPINMINDTHATIS90degrees outside I stay by door for 10mins. I called him another 3 times,… «maybe he is running late» I leave first voicemail Wait till 5:15pm. I call again… «maybe I am wrong» «I must be wrong» Call again at 5:20 pm still no answer and no respond… I tell him in voicemail to at least call me back so I don’t wait for him. It is now 6:11pm… NOCALLBACKFROMANYONE I was a first time client, I was looking forward to this. I will take my business elsewhere more organized and with MANNERS

Now this is a story all about how i my life got flipped turned upside, now i’d like to take a minute just sit right there, about how i became the Prince of a town called Scamaire… I called a few months ago to schedule a dual massage, for my gf and myself. The gentleman said, «i’m booked for 2 weeks and about to do a massage, you’ll have to call back to schedule.» Ok! So this guy is sooo busy and booked! He MUST be awesome! Well, i was quite busy for the next couple months, didn’t really crave a massage at the moment, AND my coupon(yes, i had purchased a coupon. Even though this place is soooo busy that they don’t have any available time for weeks, yet they offer deals on just about every site?! Odd. Peculiar.) does not EXPIRE till December 2011. I still have about 8 months to cash in. Well this week i’ve been working out more and feeling ready for a great ancient art massage. Well, my gf calls to schedule the appointment, and Mr. Jai(pretty sure his real name is Jimbo or Rick or something) nearly made her cry by being sooo rude and stating that we don’t offer ANY coupon that could be valid for more than 6 months! So i have the pleasure of speaking with him, and he says he doesn’t recall having any coupons from this specific site. I told him, well you do. I have it in my hand. He tries to pull the ol skibbidy skameroo and keeps denying its real! He then states that he can’t talk to me any further bc i can’t have an «intelligent» conversation. RULE #1 of great customer service, call the customer an idiot. I say hold on, i’ll go online real quick to prove exactly where and when i bought it. Maybe that would jog his hippy memory. Well, he hungup on me. RULE #2 of great customer service: when you don’t have an argument or valid leg to stand on, Hang up! That will always solve the problem. Well Mr. Jai, i didn’t ask for you to bend the rules, do me ANY favors, i just asked that you HONOR the coupon deal you’ve already cashed in on. Just bc you already got paid for it, doesn’t mean you can avoid doing your job. I really am glad i never came in once i felt your NEGATIVE energy over the phone. And honestly, who whould want to go to a place that has to defend every negative Unilocal review? If you were a decent person and busines, i would have loved to give you a fantastic review. Namaste my friends… not you Jai. You WILLNOT be receiving a fruit basket this year.
