The restaurant is beautiful and always clean. It is a very nice environment. I don’t eat here too often, but when I do I’m reminded why I don’t. I’m never really satisfied with the food. The food it’s always just EH. And the bill is always WOW, EEK. I’m paying this much for that??? Never worth it. The food has never been horrible just not worth the price and the menu ISNOTVEGANNORVEGETARIANFRIENDLY. The mocha latte= not worth trying either.

Worst service I have experienced at any Mimi’s. Waited over 10 minutes to be seated. Had to go find someone to see if they have noticed that over 8 people were waiting. The attendant finally started seating people but when it was my turn she said I had to wait 5 minutes. When I asked her why I had to wait when there were open seats, she said it was so they could provide me with better service. I don’t think that adding 5 minutes to my already 10 min wait is good customer service so I just walked out. I will never be back to this establishment with the worst customer service.

I cannot believe what reviewer Karla just posted. We had made reservations! We were seated immediately. The hostess and our waitress, Frannie, were excellent. Our food was exquisite! We were going to the movies after our dinner and we were in and out in an hour and 20 minutes. The cost including 2 glasses of wine and an appetizer was under $ 60. If there were more than 5 stars, I would have done more.

We decided to visit this restaurant even though most of the reviews weren’t favorable. We found that the menu that was quite varied along with some interesting nightly specials. All of the food ordered was enjoyed by our entire party. The two ladies who waited on our table were timely and non-intrusive. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Great salads and sandwiches, and everyone in our party was happy with their food. Quiet atmosphere for conversation. Our server Karen was prompt and attentive without being obtrusive.

there was only one waitress for breakfast she was trying hard but it was too much for one person so service was lacking the manager was weird and hardly helped they didn’t bring all the food and the pancakes were not cooked well. their mixed fruit is grapes and a orange slice and the muffins in a box that were given to go had hot sauce all over the box yum!(not)

Okay food for the average not so foodie customers. Very slow service both times we came here. Once for lunch, once for breakfast. They seem very short staffed and disorganized both times. Don’t get it either, cause it is not very cheap to eat here.

Horribly slow service. Came in at 12:45PM on a Sunday and the place was less than half full. We finished two hours later. Waitress kept disappearing. We had to flag other people down for water, iced tea, status of food, status on missing food, our check, getting someone to take our credit card, getting someone to bring our credit card back. Very frustrating.

Upon arrival, I was greeted just fine. Then I waited to be seated, which it was odd because there were no other people waiting. Next, I followed the hostess to an empty seating area, I asked her how come I was not seated in the area where other customers were; her response was, «well if you want a booth, there are none available in that area.» I said its fine. When she walked away from my table, she crossed paths with a co-worker, she whispered something to her and both laugh at the same time looking at me. The waiter comes to drop menu and asked if I wanted something to drink, I ordered a cup of coffee which was served full of grease. I poured two Half &Half s then I looked up and the waitress and other employee talking and laughing looking at me. That was when I decided to get up and check the area where the rest of customers were sitting. There were plenty of tables and booths available. That was when I walked out of restaurant. No wonder why there are hardly any people at this restaurant.

The food was good, came to the table in a reasonable time. One thing caught my eye, the elderly gentleman who seems to be the manager. He seemed to be frantically trying to do everything. Totally missing the point of the restaurant should work as a team. All of the wait staff looked as if they were either annoyed or frustrated with him running around. Calm down and trust the team. If you trained them right and the enjoy the work environment, they will do it right. If you keep stressing everyone out you will push them away and you will have to take on more. Good luck Mimi’s Café.

If you are looking for a change from the old all-American breakfast, this is the place to go. Mimi’s Café truly embraces French culture as much as it is possible to do so in the U.S. and still be a profitable business. If you are looking for a true French experience, buy a ticket and fly to France. But if you would like to get a taste of French culture and cuisine, give this establishment a chance. Every time we have eaten here, we have been satisfied. Knowing French cuisine and having been to France to taste it, we consider it to be a valuable and authentic approach to its original. We’ve tasted Crepes, Quiche Lorraine, Eggs Benedict, and more and found that overall we were extremely satisfied. You might find the Quiche Lorraine’s dough slightly undercooked, or the Eggs Benedict slight overcooked. However, overall it is a great and authentic experience and very much enjoyable overall.

Not to put too fine a point on the whole«well, for Casa Grande…» issue, but it definitely applies here and boosts their star rating. I’m very happy my family replaced the usual Cracker Barrel stop with this! I applaud the new corporate owner’s French-inspired menu that attempts to set them apart from the Denny’s(Coco’s, Village Inn, etc) coffee shop and diner-type restaurants, as so many of those have vanished from AZ(Perkins, Marie Callender’s), They now seem to be working hard to find a balance between the old menu and this new one. Between two trips(going to and coming from Tucson) I tried the chicken pot pie(delightfully flakey, richer gravy and larger pieces of chicken than I expected) and the bouillabaisse(not bad, quite light) for entrees, had the lobster bisque as an app both times(don’t see it on the menu anymore, unless it’s a chef’s choice?), and tried the crème brûlée cheesecake(which really wasn’t big enough to share, nor did it have a thick enough caramelized sugar shell). My favorite dish was absolutely the lobster bisque, which was deliciously rich and creamy despite having barely any lobster meat in it. It was fantastic when i dipped the table bread in it. I would have been happy with just a bowl of this and a large helping of bread! It makes me sad to see that the menu is slowly going back to diner-level, with more and more American food popping up, but at least they’re being smart and renaming the French dishes(the descriptions still have the proper French terms, like beef bourguignon, coq au vin, and pork cassoulet). The friendly male server we had last June said customers are resistant to trying the new French items, which is very sad, so maybe this renaming will help? This Mimi’s is a convenient and affordable stop for a good bite to eat while driving through Casa Grande. Just pull off the freeway and into the Promenade power center/outdoor mall.

Face facts, Casa Grande Az offers very few decent dining options. I am not a fan of corporate food, but this branch of Mimi’s combined with their new menu is pretty darned good. Also, it’s the only place I can get moules et frites! Wasn’t a fan of the bouillabaisse as it was overly salted and the seafood seemed a bit ‘old’. My husband enjoys their burgers. It’s inexpensive and also close to Target, World Market and Sephora. Oh, another plus is the servers are tremendously helpful and friendly.

The menu and service has improved 100% at this location. Love the chicken crêpe with salad. I recommend you give it a try!

Not impressed, the older waitress Becca is always rude and always mess up your order! We always ask to be seated with a different waiter if we got seated at her station.

This place was AMAZING. The entire time we ate, my boyfriend and I were continually looking up at each other in surprise and happiness. I describe our experience with the food but it would seem almost sensual and absurd. I am definitely coming back.

Mimi’s breakfast… My breakfast date cancelled, but the breakfast was incredible! First time at Mimi’s Casa Grande for breakfast: Pommes Lyonnaise sans bacon with fresh fruit and a cappuccino.(Wait, you can get a cappuccino here? Yup.). The server was a little odd, but the service was lovely. The hostess, waitress, set-up and manager all visited my table to say hello! Cappuccino was yummy and presented well. Pommes Lyonnaise was beautifully presented, poached perfectly, and the fresh fruit was actually fresh! And to top it all off — a complimentary muffin to say«thank you». Mimi’s and the stuff are on my good-list.

long day in phoenix and on the way back we stopped over in casa grande to get some grub. the husband suggested this place because he had read about it when we were on a different vacation and said we should try it. i’ve never had french food before, so i was struggling with what i was looking at on the menu. some of the words were just too complicated for me to even pronounce! haha. ended up with the turkey dinner. it wasn’t very hot when it came out. very little dressing. husband got french onion soup, the kid got mac n cheese. had to get up and find the waitress to ask for more gravy and a refill on my soft drink because she never came back to check on us. it’s not like it was busy. maybe had 2 other tables.

The quality of food is still pretty good at Mimi’s, but the new French owners of this chain have made changes in the menu that have taken it off our list of places to eat while we are in Casa Grande. And to clarify before I start complaining, I adore real French food, but this is not it. To start out, the wine list is no longer acceptable in my mind. Even at half price on Wednesday, the only California Chardonnay is mediocre at best and I will be on the wagon the next time I eat at Mimi’s. This is a shame as I recall getting a really decent California Chardonnay here about two years ago(not sure if the Simms family owned Mimi’s then or if this was after Bob Evans bought it) — a word to the French company that now owns this chain — This is the US — California wines are really wonderful and beat your wines as you will recall in that famous contest! The menu has gone through a drastic change. I could not find my favorite healthy choices any more. My bouillabaisse was quite tasty, but with only 3 each of scallops and shrimp and 4 or 5 mussels(one did not open and should not have been included in the serving), it was not really a filling meal. My husband found his salad to be sorely lacking in chicken, so again, it was not really a satisfying meal. The bread pudding was okay, but the petite bread pudding on the old menu was tastier. And to my great disappointment, the chocolate mousse muffin is no longer on the menu. I was hoping to salvage the whole experience with a yummy chocolate splurge, but it was not to be. So I think I will revise my original plan to give 3 stars down to 2 stars as I had planned to have half of that chocolate muffin for breakfast this morning!
