Arrived at subway to order dinner there was a manager and another employee. The manager said«you have a customer» the employee argued that his hands were dirty, they both stood there arguing in front of me and no one once took my order or said a word to me. I used to to go here at least once a week. I will never go back, no one even tried to stop me from leaving.

I have mixed feelings about Subway. First. the good stuff. Two years ago I managed to lose thirty pounds on the Subway diet. Yes, it works! I ate two footlong subs every day from the«7 grams of fat or less» menu. This was all that I ate — two subs per day period. Doing so, I stayed around 1600 calories a day, and shed thirty pounds over the course of 6 months. I decided to swing by tonight and have a sub. I ordered my usual«diet» sub — the Chicken Teriyaki. It is a decent sub considering the fat/calorie content. The sub itself tasted exactly the same way it did two years ago when I was on the Subway diet — no big surprise there. However, what was very surprising, was the price. Considering that, two years ago, I ate a Subway twice a day for 6 months, I know what pretty much everything costs. I was shocked when the bill came to $ 11.31. Two years ago, this same exact meal would have been about $ 8.50. That represents a 33% price increase in just two years — WOW! I used to think that Subway was a «cheap» place to eat… but $ 11 for a sub, chips, and drink? I can go to Quiznos, Jimmy Johns, or Jersey Mikes — spend less money, and get much better food. If Subway keeps this up, I do not see how they will stay in business. Charging higher prices for a premium product is certainly well understood — but they do not offer a premium product compared to the competition. Perhaps if they stopped paying Michael Phelps so much money they could get back to the basics…
