My husband and I were dreading getting a wedding cake/​cupcakes for our wedding. The cakes we had tasted so far were too grainy-​no-​flavor-​sugary, but then we met Kaiya. The Raleigh Bridal Fair was just closing and we were about to leave when we saw her booth. We tried her samples and I swear I knew that instant she was who we needed for our wedding cake. Our tasting was fun and all of her samples were fantastic. I’m pretty sure my husband was licking clean the frosting cups she brought with her our entire consultation meeting. She makes her cakes and frosting from scratch. We wanted a lemon zest cupcakes and a personal cake with buttercream frosting and a little bit of raspberry preserves– which she also makes herself. from scratch. She helped our design to match our simple rustic log cabin wedding. Three months later people are still telling me how good the cupcakes were at our wedding. Snatch this baker up for any occasion, you won’t be disappointed.
I also forgot to add that she made a special cupcake for our sweet grandmother who turned 92 on our wedding day. Grandma Irene loved her little flower cupcake with a candle in it that the entire wedding party got to sing her happy birthday with.

We love Kaiya! My husband and I are big foodies, we live in NYC, yet had our wedding in NC. We searched for a while to find a cake person we loved, and are so thankful we found Kaiya! Our tasting with her was wonderful, she makes EVERYTHING from scratch which really shows in the taste of the cakes.
Communicating with her was seamless. We ended up doing three separate cakes that were each different flavors with different colored icings, so fun! The cakes came out beautifully.
All our guests loved eating cake at the wedding — and we have a lot of picky people. My aunt came up to me and commented on how the icing was so delicious and didn’t give her that usual «sugary icing headache» that she often gets elsewhere.

It’s important to start with the fact that I love cake. LOVE cake. So, when we were planning our wedding, I knew that I wanted the cake to be delicious. So often wedding cakes are beautiful… but dry, with fondant so thick you have to peel it off. Not in this case. Kaiya makes amazingly delicious, moist cakes. They have the wonderful texture of a homemade birthday cake, with the beautiful exterior of a wedding cake. The perfect combination!
We knew we wanted a cake bar for our wedding (I told you I loved cake!) On our first meeting with Kaiya, she was prepared with mini cupcake samples of all the flavors we were considering, plus an entire pinterest board of ideas on how to decorate and layout the cakes. She had great suggestions for frosting types and styles. We met with another bakery that was nowhere near as prepared or tasty; it was no contest.
We ended up with 5 cakes and 1 pie. And all 6 of them were phenomenal! Kaiya made my dream of a funfetti wedding cake come true. We also had a lemon-​raspberry cake, coconut cake, German chocolate cake, vegan hummingbird cake and a key lime pie. Everything was made from scratch, and tasted wonderful.
Her marshmallow fondant is also very tasty, and a great alternative to traditional fondant as it’s not super thick. If you’re looking for those beautiful sugar flowers, or smooth fondant exterior, she is great at those! Kaiya had no problem making a vegan cake for us, and she also does gluten free, lactose free and nut free options. I cannot recommend Kaiya enough. Absolutely delicious cakes!
