This place was very convenient while we stayed down the road at the spring hill Marriott! They stayed open late NYE and delivered right away! the Portion size was excellent and the price was great! The food was above expectation(although other reviews state differently) everything was so good! We will be visiting this place again! Thank you.

We are regulars to this restaurant however the past 2 weeks we have eaten here the food doesn’t taste the same anymore. I think they have changed their cook. The chicken wings still got blood on it, i returned it and guess what? They just refried it, now the chicken wings are all dried up.

Ordered the Orange Chicken, which was supposed to be spicy, and requested that it be extremely spicy, the worst they could do. Got something covered with goop that was not spicy in the least. Terrible. My husband got the Singaore Mei Fun. This was marginally better. Never going back.

Typical American Chinese style. Not enjoyable for a Born Chinese. And please, if you wanna be called China king so be it, I don’t have any problems. Just don’t use the name of my hometown as the chinese translation, it is considered such an insult for a place of greater foods.

Ordered the vegetable delight off of the lunch menu and was extremely disappointed. The food was bland and the ingredients weren’t fresh. It wasn’t a Vegetable Delight, it was a Vegetable Disappointment. Below par for a Chinese takeout restaurant.

Decent Chinese food. Typical American style. Lunch specials are available all week, which is a plus. Tried the lomein. It was wet style, not dry. That’s OK, just different. Wife tried the shrimp with garlic sauce and found it sweet instead of savory or salty. Again different than expectations. Try it, you might like it. Must note that there was a lot of people in and out of this place so that could be a good sign that the food is consistent enough to bring people back. This helps move inventory so you don’t get spoiled ingredients. Not going back as there are more Chinese places to try out in the area.

Very rude cashier — food is inexpensive but horrible customer service I accidently dropped my plate and the cashier actually«dropped» the F bomb Skip this restaurant — there are better choices in the area

Good Chinese American style. No bells or whistles but they get quite a bit of business. They seem to have all the traditional basics covered for a normal takey-outy Chinese restaurant. No frills, fast quick and tasty with satisfying portions. Just skip it on «date-night» if you’re trying to impress is all I’m sayin. Def not 5 stars which it seems some over zealous Unilocalers wish to hand out to this place, but certainly in my opinion, not deserving of only 2 either. Have I had better? Sure. And have had much worse — so on quality of food 3 stars seems justifiable. Maybe because they don’t deliver or are in a very busy strip mall they get some knocks? Don’t know, but how much can you expect from this type of place? Anyway — I give it a thumbs up — just wouldn’t go out of my way to get it.

China King at Crossroads is tucked into a super busy strip mall. Though basically a take– out place, there are a few tables inside and people were dining. Also there are several covered tables outside that the strip mall restaurants share. China King is your basic Chinese take-out place, it has the typical menu with a list of lunch and dinner combination plates. I ordered the General Tsau’s chicken dinner special with pork fried rice and an egg roll. It was a good size portion, not greasy or overly sauced. The egg roll that came with it was very good. If traffic is any indication as to the quality, the phone rang off the hook with orders and a steady stream if people were in and out. Overall, if you are looking for Chinese take-out in the Crossroads are, China King will satisfy that craving.

Not terrible, but definitely not GREAT. Egg drop soup is very bland, but the chicken and veggies weren’t too bad. Pretty cheap and quick so in pinch it’s not too bad!

Stopped in for lunch and ordered General Tso’s and was able to have pork fried rice instead of steamed rice as the side. Food was served fresh, hot and delicious by all standards.

Meh… how come the only decent Chinese place I can find is 20 – 25 minutes away from me?! I’ve been on a quest to try out various Chinese places that’s closer to my apartment, but MAN, it’s hard! China King is located in the Cary Crossroads area next to Coffee and Crepes and in the same section(ish) as Best Buy. It’s your typical looking take-out Chinese place with about 4 tables if you decide to eat in rather than take your food home. The hubby and I ordered Shrimp Lo Mein and General Tso’s with a large order of Hot & Sour Soup all to-go. *sigh* Everything was bland! The shrimp lo mein was okay… tasted edible, but the General Tso was horrible! There was no crunch, the sauce tasted like a middle between Orange Chicken and General Tso… which is not a good thing. The hot and sour soup was probably the best tasting out of everything, still blander than I like, but they actually have strips of chicken in there. For all of that in the large sizes, it totaled to be $ 22…which is way more than I wanted to pay, especially for the taste. I’d rather drive to Morrisville to C&T and get the dinner combo for ~$ 7 and use the rest of money to pay for my gas. =/

Not a whole lot to say about this place. It’s your run-of-the-mill Chinese place that has decent food. Yeah, they don’t deliver, but it’s cheap enough, fast enough, and good enough that if a craving strikes while I’m in the area, I’ll stop by. I’ve had a few different dishes from them, and they’re all pretty good. They seem to sauce their dishes a little lighter than most, which I actually appreciate. No complaints on the food. I walked in and ordered several dishes for take-out, and had to wait less than 10 minutes, which surprised me. Mind you, this was almost 9pm when I did this, but still. I was happy with how quickly that went.

Went here for the first time last night. I was craving Chinese and this is the only place I knew in the immediate area. The atmosphere is definitely old with worn furniture but overall pretty clean. We ordered the same thing we always get — Hunan style. It was not my favorite. I asked for it to be prepared extra spicy but it didn’t really taste spicy at all. The fried rolls were very weird and had some strange pink/purple hue that just looked way too processed so I couldn’t even stomach half a bite. The soup we got was pretty good though. The lady at the counter was nice and helpful but made us come get our food from the order area and did not serve us. I figure this is because I didn’t leave tip when I signed the receipt(because I planned to leave cash on the table after the meal) but I have no idea. Maybe they don’t serve people in the restaurant? In any case, not sure I’ll have anymore Chinese cravings for a while…

I’ve been here twice and both times found the food to be bland. I ordered kung pao chicken the last time I was there and it’s marked spicy on their menu but what I received was a container of dry slices of chicken and lots of celery, carrots and green pepper and barely any sauce and that wasn’t spicy at all! I won’t be returning. I gave them 2 chances and both times received the same flavorless taste experience.

Just called. No delivery. Seriously? If I wanted to go get take-out, I’d go to a real restaurant, there is a TON of good, high quality, Chinese/American restaurants in the area, there is absolutely no need to order from a place like this if you have to go there to pick it up. One star.

I have been here twice now and even though this place is a dive inside, the food is fantastic. I always order take out. The restaurant atmosphere itself does not have much to offer. It’s clean but old and very small. I just wish that they still delivered! BEWARE! Their menu advertises that they deliver and I called once with my order ready only to find that… they no longer bring it to your doorstep– pickup only! I order the vegetable delight when I go because it goes great with pork fried rice– it’s the perfect balance! The vegetables are so fresh and have a not-too-sweet but incredibly delicious sauce on them. Veggie Delight includes all your favorites– bamboo shoots, broccoli, baby corn, water chest nuts, carrots and snow peas! I posted a picture above if your mouth isn’t watering already. If meat is more your style, they offer a general tso’s chicken that is crispy and fresh. The broccoli included is firm but cooked properly, not at all chewy or stringy. I would advise you to ask for it extra spicy because the way it normally comes tastes more sweet than spicy. These people WILL cook to order. That’s the great thing about hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants! Again, picture included above. Their pork dumplings are okay. I’m not a huge fan but my boyfriend loves them, and I think a well rounded restaurant has to have something to satisfy different tastes. To me, they taste like they have pulled pork with bbq sauce inside… lol. Not what I would call an authentic Chinese dish. I’m guessing that the vegetable ones are better, as mentioned by a previous Unilocaler this place really knows how to make over-the-top veggies. Their eggrolls are good, crispy and delicious. I like dipping them in basalmic-vinegar-soy… I forgot what they call that. I think that one of the best parts of all that I listed above is that this place is CHEAP. Literally under $ 5 for a lunch plate, around $ 8 for dinner plate, and $ 5 – 6 for additional quart-size entrees. Would I recommend it here? Hell yeah.
