The pottery is awesome, but we made a special order before Christmas, supposed to be a present, and it was supposed to be ready in time for Christmas. They called to let us know that their kiln broke, and they wouldn’t have it done in time. We were understanding, things happen. But after Christmas, we had to call to find out that it was fixed, and were told it should be ready in a week. Didn’t hear from them in that week, and stopped by to see if I could pick up. Still not done, told another week, still not done, got upset and told them I wanted a definite finish date, they said they would call back, and no one did. Finally got a call about a week later that it was done. The work was excellent but not great business practices. They did give us a discount for the inconvenience, which was nice. All in all, very frustrating

I happened upon Cary Pottery by chance and am so thrilled that I stopped in! The pieces are exquisite and I told the proprietors that they rival th ever expensive Irish pottery my husband and I collect! As a matter of fact, I purchased two gorgeous bowls labeled as «dinner bowls,» but will be used for ice cream in our house! If you are looking for a gorgeous bathroom sink, stop by – you will not be disappointed! I was delighted to watch the artist work, and it brought tears to my eyes – reminded me of Dublin! I will certainly be back for more! The craftsmanship is stunning and the prices were such that I felt guilty walking out of there with what I paid. I felt I was stealing! Great shoppe!

Functional Pottery. Cary Pottery has it in a perfect setting. Off the main road in downtown Cary, Cary Pottery is in a cute one-story house. It’s much smaller than I expected, but the front three rooms display the colorful pottery quite nicely. When I walked in, I first noticed the fireplace and the shelves surrounding it with the bright pottery. Most of the pieces are the kind with the lighter color glazing on top blending down to the main solid color on the bottom. It’s the solid color pieces that are the most interesting though. They show the patterns in the pottery itself. I noticed it most in one of the vessel sinks. Those are really spectacular. Because it’s functional pottery, it can be used for food. As nice as the pieces would look on a shelf, it’s even better to know they’re useable. Bowls, cups, mugs, plates and large platters, everything is made on site. Cary Pottery offers a good opportunity to pick up a gift«made in Cary» for yourself or for your out of town friends. It’s easier to show them what they’re missing
