I have shopped at their garden center before and had a great experience. I recently ordered a pallet of sod. I called for a quote early in the week and was quoted a delivery fee. When I called to confirm the final order at the end of the week, I was told the delivery fee was double what I had been quoted. I explained this, but I was told the previous associate got it wrong. When the sod arrived, the guys unloading were helpful and friendly and unloaded exactly as I needed it.
I worked in landscaping for four summers in high school and college. I installed a lot of sod. There were more white grubs in the sod than I have ever seen, but obiously I only have my own experience to compare against. I pulled them out as I went but will now need to put down pesticide which I normally try to avoid at all costs. The sod was clearly from different patches of the sod farm too because there are certain rolls that look like different grass. I would recommend working with the supplier to quality check the batches.
In the future I would consider my other option that I chose against for convenience sake which was renting a truck, driving to the sod farm and picking up/​unloading it myself.

I have purchased 15 larger trees and too many perennials to count over the last 12 years from The Barn and keep going back. They have among if not the best larger-​tree selection in the area. Perennials almost always are very healthy and typically include unusual species you won’t see anywhere else. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and will refer your question to someone who knows more than they do if appropriate. Pricing is average for the area, plant health is excellent, and if you’re watching you will find various sales throughout the year, particularly at year-​end October/​November. Caveat emptor-​their guarantee is for the amount paid for the tree or shrub. If you buy at a sale price that is the amount of the guarantee and it is not necessarily for replacement of the plant. It has always been made clear to me that this is the policy at checkout. This should be a surprise to no one if you actually listen to what the person behind the register explains to you during the payment process.

Had a landscape architect come out to my house in April 2014 to look at work I wanted done and to offer ideas to improve the aesthetics of my backyard/​patio and front entryway. Said I would receive a quote in two weeks. It’s now late August and I’m still waiting for that email. Ok, so I don’t have a McMansion, but I still would like to have a nice landscape. If my job was «too small» for their big egos, they should have told me straight up instead of ignoring my request. I would not recommend.

We have been going here for years. The staff is helpful, and the prices are good on most things. There is always a sale or weekly specials going on. They also have special events like, ‘Build a fairy Garden’, for kids, or a mother’s day event, even wine tastings! We love to come, browse around, see what’s new, and get ideas. I would recommend coming here.

I love the barn. My family has been coming for years and the staff really knows their stuff. I rarely shop for plants anywhere else because I know I can get everything I need at The Barn.

This morning, two months after my review was posted, I was contacted by a manager of the Barn Nursery & Landscape Center who apologized for my experience and promised to train seasonal staff better.
I decided to offer this as an update because, while my initial review was accurate and I stand by it, I feel like her even less-​than-​timely outreach deserves credit.

W went end of season for sale items, and we got some really nice berry bushes. The cherry trees we got have not done well, and one died, but that could be due to poor weather and our poor soil. Overall we were satisfied.

Awesome place. Gardening needs? They’ll hook you up – from flowering trees to herbs, they’ve got it. The prices aren’t all that competitive, but they always seem to have a coupon circulating in spring/​summer. The staff is super helpful. They’ve got great on-​the-​fly gifts. I find it semi-​therapeutic to just wander around and check out what they’ve got. There’s more than what meets the eye from the road, that’s for sure…

We had The Barn do all of the landscaping work on our new-​to-​us house remodeling project over the past year and a half. They did three large paver patios and a paver driveway, as well as installing nearly 100 trees, regrading the yard, and landscaping a 6 foot soil berm we installed.
They know their stuff, whether it is paving work or plants or trees, they do top quality work, and they try to steer your choices in a direction that will produce a great result. They were timely and courteous and promptly responsive to my concerns when they arose.
I can’t recommend them highly enough.

The Barn installed a massive hardscape and landscape project in the fall of 08 and we couldn’t be happier with the results. As promised by the «Family-​owned» style displayed on the website, we found each team member from top to bottom to be equally courteous, professional, hard-​working and totally accessible. It was a joy to work so closely with real people, instead of just an impersonal «company,» and our yard is now the talk of the neighborhood! Not only would I recommend them wholeheartedly, I will hire them again for all further landscape needs.
