Location is great, but coffee is absolutely meh. If you’re taking a train, wait until you get downtown and grab a proper cup.

Stopped here for coffee before grabbing a train into the city. The coffee was not good… i don’t know what else to say besides it seemed old. Seeing as it was 7:45am on a weekday, I expected fresher tasting coffee. Also, the cream didn’t seem like real cream to me. The baked goods were sparse and wrapped in plastic wrap, which is always bad because it makes things soggy and makes me question freshness. I expected more options from a coffee shop right across the street from the train station. Anyhow, I was excited to have an organic café to stop at, but don’t think I’ll be going back soon. Also, the décor is just not very inviting whatsoever. I think they need to step it up if they want to stay in business. The potential is there(coffee shop within spitting distance of the Metra station!!!), but changes need to be made.

We eat here on Sunday, September 6th. I was not even aware this little gem was there. We happened upon it going to the Cary Farmer’s Market. I had a ½ egg salad sandwich and a cup of the beef barley soup. My wife had a ½ broiled cheese sandwich and the beef barley soup. I loved my sandwich and my wife liked hers. We both loved the soup. It was fantastic! Best egg salad sandwich I ever had.

I stopped in this morning to pick up a quick bite to eat before catching a train, hoping for some sort of selection. All they had was pastries. Mind you the banana bread mini-loaf was tasty, but I was hoping for something more substantial from a quick service restaurant right at the train station.

I feel badly giving this place 2 stars because I really want to like it! However, our experience wasn’t pleasant at all. We only ordered drinks, so I’ll change my rating when I go back to try their food. But the coffee was absolutely watered down and flavorless. I ordered a chai tea latte, and it was basically just milk. There was no chai flavor whatsoever. Very very disappointed. It’s hard to know what to order when you’re at the counter because there are no menus or a board with options. There are little post it notes everywhere but no one has time to search for those. I was underwhelmed with the décor as well. It looks like a gas station convenience store … Fluorescent lights, no warmth in décor. Little neon garage sale price stickers on bags of chips, etc. We were also served as if we were a burden being there … No friendly service. I was being friendly and asking about the business and how they’re doing but I got the cold shoulder. I also asked for cream for our coffee, and the girl behind the counter sighed as if it was a big deal to go to the back to get it.(Which btw, if you’re a coffee shop, cream should just be there). I hope these folks succeed, but they’ve gotta amp up their approach to make that happen in this location long term.

Just visited this quaint little café this afternoon with some girlfriends. The atmosphere is very relaxed(we stayed and chatted for 1.5 hrs. and didn’t feel rushed to leave). All 3 of us enjoyed our sandwiches(2 of us got ham, the other roast beef). I got the coleslaw and chips and while I enjoyed the coleslaw, I just didn’t «love» it – but I’m not sure why. I think the best part was their coffee. I typically hate coffee, but I want to love it, so I gave it a try. I specifically asked if their coffee was bitter and the server reassured me it wasn’t. She was right! I enjoyed a very smooth and creamy hazelnut latte that wasn’t overly sweet. I’ll definitely be back to visit and try some of their other sandwiches and soups. My only suggestion would be to have a selection of salads(other than the side salad).

Best of the best ingredients make a delicious order no matter what it is. I love spending my money on a quality product that doesn’t dump a bunch of chemicals in my body. The homemade syrups are so delicious and the food is made fresh to order. Meaning they crush the hard boiled eggs to make your egg salad sandwich. The sandwich bread is great too. Not to mention the organic coffee soothes the soul. Truly a local gem.

Great stop across the street from the Cary train station! Stopped in for a cappuccino, but ended up with an additional healthy sandwich, and a nice little coffee cake. The place is cute, clean, and the owners aim to please. Organics is not just a buzzword here but is the core of their business! I can’t wait to be back and try some new things. Awesome!

I stopped in and really loved this place. I had excellent broccoli soup and a fresh pear crumble. Mostly organic offering. Looks great in here. Stop in and support this local business! Excellent!

Perfectly brewed and roasted coffee at the proper temperature. Absolute dedication to quality and sustainability complements the organic, natural, no-gmo commitment. Slowly sipping my decaf Americano, it continues to hold a good temp and flavor! Could be our new local hang-out!

We often drive through Cary to visit friends. So when I heard that All Fired Up Organics had their soft opening scheduled for this past weekend, I knew we had to stop by. They are easy to find at the corner of Main & Spring Streets right by the train station. There’s a black awning overhead(not theirs, but it will be changed soon) and a patio for outdoor dining(not on blustery days like the one we visited on though). The plum colored door catches the eye as you walk by. Once inside, it was warm and cozy despite the chilly temperatures outside. We were immediately greeted by one of the owners which is always nice. There was a counter with some stools lined up. Chairs along a lower counter to people-watch out the front window. A few booths along the wall and quite a few tables & chairs throughout the back of the café. The kitchen area is semi-open which I always like and it’s nice and bright inside. Moving along to the food… The goal is all organic. No GMO’s, nitrates or any of the other garbage we too often consume. I’ll be honest… I’m still learning about what is or isn’t in the food we eat. But owners, Dave and Jen, are really knowledgable and will take special care to help educate you if you so choose. Here’s what we tried… and what we thought: Ham and turkey sandwiches… The lunchmeat was sliced once ordered, it was definitely quality meat and quite tasty. The bread was not their own, but it was still good and they told us that they do have plans to bake their own bread(we can hardly wait!!). The sandwiches were straightforward and very good. Potato salad… The best potato salad I’ve had in a long time. My son didn’t order any, but he tasted mine and was immediately sorry he missed out. So I shared more. It’s a homestyle type of salad, well seasoned and high on the list of things to get again. I usually need to season the bland potato salad I receive when we order out. Not here. This was delightful! Coffee and hot cocoa… My husband added a shot of espresso to his coffee. He called it a great cup of coffee. They are using a quality bean. During our visit, they had two varieties to try and it seems they will be rotating them regularly which bodes well for the local commuters who are sure to love this spot. My son and I tried the hot cocoa. Yummy! Chocolatey enough to enjoy the drink without being too sweet to drink. The fresh baked sweet breads(banana, banana chocolate chip and coffee cake with frosting)… We tried all three and liked all three. Top choice by all of us was the coffee cake with frosting. They used some form of actual coffee in the making of this soft and delicious treat. I would go back for these perfect sized treats. An on the go special! Finally, the cookies… I saved my favorite for last. We tried oatmeal raisin and white/milk chocolate chip cookies. Sold by the piece or in three packs with organic ingredients, these were a huge hit!!! I was very sorry last night when the last one had been eaten. They were buttery without being greasy. And slightly crisp on the edge with a soft center. They sure know the way to my heart. So, I learned that the wood fire grill is forthcoming and we can expect things like pizza and other comfort foods. I also heard some talk of beef stew this week and other fabulous sounding dishes. It was only the soft opening, but you can tell that the owners really have the chops to pull this off and make All Fired Up Organics a success! I can hardly wait to see what’s next and in the meanwhile, we will be visiting for our favorites so far… coffee, cocoa and sweet treats done right!
