Had a wonderful time. My wife and I stayed on the 3rd of July while traveling. Jeanne was a great host. The house was built in 1890’s and is still a magnificent home. All the stained glass is original! We stayed in the Mark Twain rm with a king bed. Very very comfy. Room as very nice, clean and airy. Jeanne gave us a tour of the house all the rooms looked just as assume as ours. One rm even has a whirlpool tub! After we went ti dinner we sat out on the front wraparound porch and watched the fireflies. All in all a very quite and restful stay. Breakfast was a wonderful omelet with fresh fruit, yogurt, scone, coffee or tea if you prefer. Very filling. My wife and I truly enjoyed our stay and will stay there again next time we are in Carthage.

We took my wife’s dinner club of retired school teachers. Everything was perfect! Great breakfast each morning. They were very helpful with suggestions on activities in the area.(I recommend a trip out to Red Oak II to see artist Lowell Davis’ work). Our group of 8 participated in their Murder Mystery over 3 days. It was very fun!

We just returned from holding a retreat at the B&B. Jeanne was a fabulous host and this was the perfect place for our retreat. She did sooo much to make this a special gathering. The place is wonderful and the food is amazing! It was our first annual(or semi-annual) and we will be back again.

We stayed at this charming B and B in July, 2011. When we arrived we were asked what we wanted for breakfast, and Jeannie prepared a very good breakfast each morning. The room was well furnished for a historic house. The room, the Mark Twain Room was comfortable. You will probably like this place. This is on Route 66.
