I would give this 0 stars if I could. Looking for something to do on a beautiful Saturday(April 14, 2012) I stumble across a chili cook-off in Cartersville. The event was being held at Sam Smith Park. When we pulled in to park, we were charged $ 5 a person and were told that the band was playing until 5pm. We walked around the entire event which consisted of rows and rows of vendor booths. What we discovered was that there were only 4 booths participating in the Chili cook-off, and one of them was already out of chili at 2pm(the event was from 10 – 6). What a joke. What kind of chili cook off was that??? All the other booths were professional food vendors selling their junk as well as other business vendors like Directv, Avon, etc. None of the booths that actually had chili were labelled as such so they weren’t even easy to find. We couldn’t even find where we were suppossed to vote for our favorite. While I realize that the event was for charity(and it’s a good thing it was!), they could have at least told us that they had such little participation when we got there and we would probably felt okay about the whole thing. But, since they didn’t, we just felt ripped off! We only stayed maybe a half hour and the time we were there the band was«on break» so we didn’t even get to see them. It could have been a nice event… but this thing was terribly organized and a complete failure.
