Don’t get the walnut shrimp. The first bite is good if you’re hungry. Trash the rest of the«shrimps» as an asian mom would say. You’re better off ordering this at an authentic chinese take out place. You’re welcome. I’ve spared your hour working at a dead-end job.

Should be called slow beef bowl. The drive thru is so slow that you have to turn off your car while waiting.

+: * a good place to get good food fast and cheap. * the staff is super nice to you and provide quality service. * open late -: the drive thru is super slow. It’s not even cause a lot of people fill it up, it’s cause they take their sweet ass time giving you your food. Most of the time I park and just go inside to order my food! It’s a lot faster!

I know it’s a bit late, but the drive thru takes a long time. I only mind it a bit because the quality is always good here. The food always tastes fresh. The clam chowder is amazing, totally love it. The beef bowls are good and not fattening. i would have preferred if they stayed with the old recipe of the chicken bowls. I believed that it was way better. But other other than that the customer service is pretty good.

I used to come here all the time back in the day. We came here so often that the old Japanese lady in the drive thru memorized our order. lol. We used to order the tempura shrimp, clam chowder, and macaroni salad. DIVINE! We went back to see if the old lady was still there. Sadly, she was not. Good place.

Since the rat fucks over at Flamebroiler decided it was a good idea to raise their prices, I came up with an even better idea, laugh at them like you would at any ho that wanted to be respected… and loved. I pirouette into Yosh like a trill Carson thug, and order a large chicken bowl no veggies. I make it rain shimichi and beni shoga on my chicken and devour it… coming up for air occasionally. «But Eugine, their chicken has skin on it», you say. Yes, delicious crispy skin. «But it’s not good for you.» Fuck off, it’s delicious. «But Flamebroiler has MAGIC sauce». That magician, David Copperfield is an accused sexual assaulter. Flamebroiler now straight out rapes your chaste wallet without so much as a kiss or a pat on the back for taking it. Magic is bad for romance. Furthermore, how can you not support the Yosh? It’s been around since 1899. Don’t be some New Jack neo-beef bowler. Stay true, be pro-life…choose the Yosh. What say you?

Loving their new Grilled Tilapia Lemon Garlic Bowl!

Yoshinoya is one of the places that I have passed by many times but have not tried yet, so last week when I got some coupons for their new Grilled Tilapia Plate($ 4/each or $ 7 for 2) I decided to change that. At around lunch time there was a line about three people deep ahead on me and the restaurant was about 25% full with people eating in. Ordering was straightforward and I decided to get the Grilled Tilapia plate with Lemon Garlic Butter sauce and vegetables instead of coleslaw. Food took almost 15 minutes to be prepared considering the people who had already ordered ahead of me and orders from the drive through that kept bumping walk-in orders down. Anyway, I finally dug in with a lot of skepticism but was pleasantly surprised on all fronts. To begin the portion was huge comparable to what you would get in Phil’s Fish Grill or California Fish Grill. The tilapia was grilled perfectly, the vegetables were steamed perfected(no mushiness) and the rice was of good quality and seasoned with some sesame seeds(I think not sure) that enhanced its flavor. The lemon garlic sauce needed some more work, in-fact it needs a lot of work to get it to an acceptable flavor profile. Price was it was $ 5.50 which was almost half the price at comparable places with everything apart from the lemon garlic sauce being of comparable quality. when combined with the coupon it was a steal. Will be back to exhaust some more coupons that I have.

I come here whenever I get a hankerin’ for that thin sliced meat. That’s usually what I order, a beef bowl with rice and the red ginger. Oh, and their clam chowder is pretty good. There’s a drive through, which usually has good service.

I rarely review fast food establishments unless they are superior or a total failure. This Yoshinoya is pretty darn good. I initially stopped to get some steamed dumplings but come to find they are pan or wok fried, which is A-OK. no complaints. Then I noted a side of beef on the menu board so took the chance. It was absolutely delicious. What I received was a steaming bowl of very thin and tender sliced beef. Im so impressed with the flavor, the amount of serving and how tender it was they now have a new regular customer. Someone else complained about the meat in a previous review but I thought it was really good. They even included with the beef some asian seasoned au jus which was delicious!. If you prefer your meat sliced ultra thin, I think you will like it. Next time I’ll ask for more au jus!

I don’t know if this goes for the whole chain or just this location, but the food is really pretty gross — I got the teriyaki bowl and couldn’t even finish it!

Don’t hate the Yosh. I’m not a big fan of writing reviews for fast food joints but I have to pay homage to Yoshinoya. It’s not often that I eat out for lunch when I’m at work, but this place ranks high in the list of options. This particular location though, the parking lot is straight up a bust. I’ve warned you, it’s usually a cluster F so be careful. The concept has always been simple: beef or chicken or both. Combo or large for when you have an appetite. Regular bowl size for when you’re attempting to keep it enough but not overwhelming. Yes, it’s sodium driven. You better believe it. That’s why it’s so darn addicting. And yet, they will happily give you extra soy sauce if you need. Love that beef juice; you even ask for«extra juice please.» Some ask for extra beef but that will surely come with an additional fee. Not a fan of the vegetables that come with the chicken? No problem. Let them know and they’ll keep those greens far away. These days Yoshinoya has tried to fancy up their menu. I see fish, fried items, side dishes, and of course there’s soup and dessert. Back in college, we use to dump the clam chowder on our beef bowls. Don’t ask me why but that stuff was dank. Then the next morning we all had the liquid squirts but a few days later we would do it again. Miss those days when we could eat and digest anything and everything. These days, my digestive system and intestines instantly lets me know when it doesn’t appreciate the junk I’ve consumed. I love the fact that the ginger and Japanese chili powder is there for your taking. We always order take out but I don’t waste their togo condiments. I wait for my food, take it out of the bag, then go to the condiment station and load up before I roll out. By the time, my food is ready to be devoured, all you see is a mountain of red ginger and a hail of red/orange pepper. If you love Yoshinoya the way I do, be on the look out for those coupons. It’s typically buy one item and get another of equal/lesser value 50% off. I heard that even when you don’t have these coupons, you can ask the person behind the counter for it and they will give it to you. I have yet to test out that theory myself. I usually just grab the coupons randomly from the mail. Yeah, it’s sh! tty but we still come back. It may no longer be a weekly deal like back in the day but every once in a while the craving comes knocking. I saw a Yoshinoya in Thailand on my last trip and I fouled up by not stopping by to pick something up. I won’t let that opportunity pass again when I head back to the motherland. Future stop: Yoshinoya Japan!
