I got a living social deal . I can say my food was worth it I will return . I think this place is underrated maybe because it’s in a low key spot but the food is great . Since I been eating better they have great choice and good amount portions . Rice fish and veggies or my favorite Cajun chicken rice and veggies.

This was my first time here I was told the food was good here, well you can’t miss this place its the restaurant with the huge glass windows, glass doors side and the front across from 24 hours fitness, don’t come here with your secret date or if you are cheating… think that may be the same, I think parking can be a bit hard at times there’s a lot of business in this area, as we enter we were greeted by Rachel C. with a very friendly warm welcoming smile(a pretty lady) we were Immediately seated, this restaurant is very clean from want I can tell being a seafood restaurant, there are three TV on the wall two were on but turn down you could read the sub title on them with some pretty cool up to date music playing in the background, about 16 tables and chairs, 6 bench booth seating, there were no photo’s on the wall’s or any art work around, Rachel had told us early when we were seated the place is being remodel, the menu has a lot of Items from the entrée-starters-sandwiches-the grill-beer-wine– beverage– and desserts, some are the seafood platter, crab stuffed salmon, cioppion, barramundi, steaks surf & turf, pasta, pomodoro, pesto, and alfredo, We order the brioche sandwiches which is a blackened salmon with lettuce, tomato, onion rings, and pesto aioli sauce it was«dee-lish» very delicious, also the pomodoro pasta which came with savory tomatoes, basil, olive oil, garlic, herbs, parmesan cheese, and shrimp the food was really good here and with free refill was a added plus too, definitely coming back kinda like this place.

First time here. Pretty casual, great for families that just want to grab a quick bite. The food is similar to Boiling Crab and Shrimp Lovers in Redondo Beach. The lobster fries were pretty tasty. The 3 seafood combo was okay, in my opinion needed more garlic, but it was okay, again you can’t compare them to the others although they’re similar. The crawfish were nice size as well. The service was quick

My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday and we got the 3 seafood combo. We got the shrimp, crawfish, and mussels. Unlike boiling crab, hot and juicy, etc you can’t get different flavors for each different item. You could get it in mild, spicy, extra spicy. We got the spicy, it was good and flavorful. Enough for both of us to share. Clean restaurant good friendly service. It definitely satisfied little seafood cravings! I highly recommend the shrimp and mussels(so tender). I’m thankful we have a seafood restaurant in the area!

I knew of this Restaurant since they first opened. This was my first time to try. I ordered through GrubHub because I find ordering online convenient and I don’t like phone ordering because most often when I order from an establishment like this, I always have trouble communicating. The problem with GrubHub or even Unilocal,is that the menu is very limited. Actually, Unilocal is more limited than GrubHub, so I used that instead. I originally ordered the popcorn shrimp, as it was available on the GrubHub site. About five minutes after I placed the order, someone called to inform me that it’s no longer available. So I changed it to the cornmeal calamari. The guy said the price is the same. So in addition, I ordered the famous lobster fries. My bill for both was around $ 23 including taxes. The cornmeal calamari comes with a garlic aioli. Very tasty and it has a good crunch. The garlic aioli tasted okay. Personally, I would’ve like a bit more garlic punch. I also noticed a bit more calamari heads than rings. Some might prefer that. The lobster fries is definitely for sharing. On GrubHub there is only one option, which is the $ 12.99 one. I know they offer a smaller portion too(or so it says on Unilocal). The fries are crisp, but not overly done. They’re topped with fairly big dices of fresh tomatoes and onions, and drizzled with some type of sauce(reminds me of mayo and something else mixed in). A generous amount of perfectly cooked lobster pieces, are placed on top. The lobster is melt-you-mouth and the dish is delicious. The first bite gives a «Wow, that’s good!» sensation. I ate about 3 or 4 bites, till I got a little overwhelmed and honestly didn’t want to eat anymore. I’m not saying it wasn’t good, because it was very good. I just think the drizzle made it too rich for me. Their menu offers quite a bit. The prices are in the middle for me. Some things, like the two items I ordered, are fine and worth it. A few things, I found a little steep. I’ve hears good things about their Clam Chowder, but a cup is around $ 5 and a bowl is around $ 9. Seems a bit up there. Not saying I wouldn’t try it one day though. From the outside, the place is huge3 and very clean. Looks great for parties and groups. Wish they opened 30 minutes earlier. Happy Hour is offered, but I still think the food price during HH could be a buck less. offers deals, for anyone interested. For is tasty and the ones I ordered are fried, but not greasy at all. I’ll be ordering again soon. Thanks for some good food!

Similar to Boiling Crab in the South Bay, but not quite. My favorite things about this place compared to BC is their Pesto Orcchiette Pasta with Scallops and their ALREADYPEELED shrimp! I’m not kidding… They have an option of already peeled shrimp! No dirty work! Although peeling the shrimp is kinda fun but I don’t usually like working for food. The sauces are similar but not quite the same. They have a garlic butter(not spicy) and their original sauce which just has some spice. I had the seafood combination with the sauces on the side and it had no flavor at all and it was kinda dry. They have combinations and other seafood options like shrimp, peeled shrimp, crab, oysters, mussels, etc. I feel like you don’t get what you pay for. but since this place is so close to home and my grandma loves this place, I will be back to eat my Orecchiette pasta and shrimp! I also always find coupons for this place so another reason to come back. It’s really not that bad! Give it a try!

OMG. I very rarely give out 2 stars, but this review is just for the shrimp, potato, corn, and sausage. Shrimp: Very meaty and big, but not fresh. Even drenched in sauce, it still had no flavor at all. The salt, pepper and lemon gave it a lot of assistance to actually make it edible. Potato: Just a regular red potato which I love, but when it’s supposed to cook in the sauce… it basically just lacked flavor and just tasted like a potato. Sausage: Tasted like sausage and nothing amazing at all. In fact, there are way more amazing sausages such as ones from costco and Trader Joe’s. This one was just bland and I didn’t want to eat any more after 2 bites. Corn: The worst! Soggy and not only did it lack flavor, it was not fresh at all so it actually tasted kind of bitter and old. It was gross. Overall, the sauce lacked flavor, barely had garlic, wasn’t even spicy even though I asked for medium and truthfully, just make me sick. My tummy wasn’t feeling very well after :(Though other things look good on their menu(like their cheap drinks) and other seafood, I’m hesitant to come back again.

My friend and I tried this place for lunch once. Neither of us liked our fish or shrimp lunch plates so I never went back. I kept hearing friends say how good the HOS is and how it compares to the Boiling Crab/Hot n Juicy Crawfish. With that said, I had to give it a second try. Luckily, I found a groupon deal for 2 worth $ 60. I ordered a pound each of shrimp and king crab legs with potatoes and corn. I was confused when everything was on plates and not in bags, but didn’t question it. I quickly found out that this place is NO comparison to the Boiling Crab or any other tasty seafood chain! The flavor was just ehhh… okay. I could taste garlic and spice, but no real salty flavor. The shrimp was a bit undercooked and it was left uneaten by my friend and me. The king crab was good and sweet, but there wasn’t many legs on the plate that seemed to equate to a full pound. Aside from the food being mediocre warm when brought to the table, it is also much more pricey than any of the other seafood places. King crab was ridiculously priced and nearly $ 10 more than Boiling Crab for sure! I wish the flavor could justify the price! HOS isn’t the worst that I’ve had, but it certainly isn’t the best. As much as I’d like to give it a higher rating, 3 stars is as much as I can spare, and that’s being generous.

Let me start by saying I’ve never been to Boiling Crab. I found this place via Unilocal.I was looking for a restaurant in Carson to meet a friend. I love seafood and this place is right off the freeway so I thought perfect. Wrong:-( Pros: 8pm on a Mon the place was empty(they close at 9) so we didn’t have to wait. The waitress was really nice. __ Alcohol. While they have alcohol on the menu this night in particular they were out of the following: beer, wine & sake. Pretty much all the alcohol on their menu, which is a decent size; they have an entire page dedicated to alcohol… which they had none of. ‘Their liquor shipment never came’ really? Lobster fries –They were OK. There was a good amount of lobster on it. My only complaint is that is it came with a lot of a mayonnaise-based sauce on top. I hate mayonnaise. Personal preference of course but it was too overpowering. 1 lb shrimp — Good not great. I was expecting great. Thinking about it, again it was the sauce. I didn’t love it. It tasted tomato-based which I found odd. I got my shrimp spicy. Thank goodness I didn’t get extra spicy cause these were hot! I chose to keep the shell on. It was very messy but they give you bibs and line the table with ling construction paper. I still managed to get sauce on myself of course:-) The shrimp also came with their heads on which I didn’t mind. More flavor! I added sausage(2.99 for 6) & corn(.75 for ½ cobb) to my bag. I wish I hadn’t. Neither went well with the sauce. The sausage I found particularly bad:-( 2.5 stars rounding down to 2 because my meal was alcohol-free.

The lobster fries were incredibly satisfying. I thought the mix of chipotle aioli and pesto would be odd, but it worked! They didn’t skimp on the lobster pieces, either. The fries weren’t the best quality, but when you’re topping them with all sorts of good stuff, they don’t have to be. We also got their seafood boil with shrimp, mussels sausage, corn and potatoes. It was decent, and the seafood was cooked just fine, but the sauce itself was nothing special.(It’s no Boiling Crab, so if you’re looking for something similar, you won’t find it here.) Honestly, it just comes down to expectations. I wasn’t expecting this place to be the best seafood place, and it wasn’t. But it wasn’t awful. It’s a decent spot. If you want a Boiling Crab experience, go to Boiling Crab. Another review mentions that this appetizer is overpriced. It’s $ 11 — and they give you a good amount of lobster. If you think that’s overpriced, maybe you should hit up a McDonalds.
