This place has been here forever, but it isn’t one of my top Thai food places. Dishes are mediocre. Service is quick and employees are friendly. Inside is kind of cramped and has an old feel, as it is. I stay safe with fried rice and stir fried veggie dishes and only eat here now if friends insist. LOL I do believe there’s an area in the back, past the kitchen(?) which may be for larger parties.

Another Carson token— this restaurant has been here since I was yay high. When the family is craving Thai food but we don’t want to drive too far, we end up here. Not the greatest Thai cuisine but it will do. Among the usuals are the pad Thai, beef/chicken sate and the BBQ chicken plates. Thai tea on the side, of course. On occasion we’ll get the tom yum soup if we’re feeling extra. The interior is quite outdated. It’s like stepping into the early 90s again. Service is a hit or miss.

This is my husband and our kids favorite Thai spot. The S8 with Beef sticks is always what they order. I am not a fan of Thai cuisine whoever, in my household, the majority wins.lol. The décor in here needs some serious help. I always try to talk my family into just picking it up because, I’d much rather stare at my own walls. Water is only served upon request, due to the drought and the last 2 times we went in they overcharged us by $ 50…it was caught both times and corrected but the attitude of the waitress and the cashier was rude and condescending. and they are truly lucky I just unleashed my mouth and words on them.

Tried this place on Valentine’s day afternoon with my mom who had been there before when it was good. Apparently, the place has been expanded but the food has went completely downhill. The entire meal was served cold. Not even lukewarm. The shrimp fried rice was cold. The deep fried«crispy» duck was cold. The broccoli was cold. It was so disappointing that I logged onto this very old Unilocal account to share my experience.

I came here on a Saturday for lunch with some family. I ordered the S6 which is two Wing of Angels, sweet and sour sauce with veggies, and shrimp fried rice. Now let me tell you this, I’ve only been here one other time and that was about 15ish years ago, but I remember it being a lot better back then than it is now. The wing of angel isn’t anything special. It’s a dry meatloaf that’s been deep fried. Bland. The sweet and sour sauce actually gave it a little flavor. Not going to lie, I was a little scared trying to figure out what kind of meats were in that wing of angel… Anyway, the shrimp fried rice was also bland, and came with only two big pieces of shrimp. Who calls it a shrimp fried rice with only two pieces of shrimp? Come on, guys, give me at least five pieces. Honestly wouldn’t go back. I’m giving it two stars because at least the service wasn’t bad.

I’ve been coming here for many years and every visit would be very satisfying, it was our family go to Thai place. Today I came with my family and it was great seafood soup and noodles but the dishes had a bad smell and I ordered a Coke and it was filled with most gas than actual Coke which of I told the waiter and she said they were out. My grandma ordered a green tea and all she would smell would be the filth in the cup. The service was amazing when a Thai guy would work here now all these women give shitty service, foods amazing but filthy plates and no restocked beverages, time to change restaurants this is no longer my favorite. Honestly just scroll for a better restaurant.

Pretty sad that this place let themselves go. The server was pretty rude; you could tell he doesn’t give a crap about anything – he dropped something on the ground and never picked it up. Not once did he check on us. There was a bug that crawled on the table. The phone was ringing off the hook and the rude server didn’t pick it up(numerous times). I can tolerate bad service if the food’s good but this is not the case. The combination soup had discolored onions and fatty parts of the meat. The spareribs plate(S-2) seemed like it was microwaved. I used to love this place when I was younger. I actually looked forward visiting this place since I was visiting in town. After tonight’s visit, I’ll never come back here.

This is my go-to Thai restaurant. They are always quick with bringing out food & the food are always fresh. I’ve been coming here since I was little and the BBQ spareribs are amazing each and every time. I used to order pad Thai noodles but now I’m hooked on the glass noodles or pad see ew with shrimp. You get to choose your type of meat: chicken, beef, pork or shrimp. I suggest to call in your order ahead of time since huge orders take about 15−20minutes. That is if you’re doing a take out. All they ask for is your name and phone number. Try their Thai tea as well, you can’t go wrong with it!

I’ve been a customer here for over 20 years. The food has always been delicious and has never changed. Depending on days, service can be excellent or can be horrible. We always order the beef satay, which typically comes with shrimp fried rice(dinner comes with 2 pieces of shrimp, lunch doesn’t. Lunch special includes a side salad with an awesome honey dressing. Included is a peanut sauce and a vinegared cucumber serano chili condiment. I always love the food, but the amount has decreased quite a bit. Over the years the price has remained the same, but the skewers for the satay are less now than before. From what I remember, the beef satay used to come with 6 skewers and not just 4! Because I regularly ordered over the years, and have always known what comes with the order, I didn’t ask. Would’ve been a nice courtesy to have been told that the menu has changed slightly. Said no mistake that the food is great. I give 2 stars, not only because of the decrease of food amount, but because of what I heard while I was waiting for my food in the lobby… Don’t let the grade a outside for you just yet So after I paid, the young woman said that she would go in the back to put my food in a bag. When she disappeared into the kitchen, I heard a loud scream. One of the guys kind of teased her. The second woman from the front disappeared into the back. I then heard the first young lady say«There was a small mouse!!» Not 100% sure what I heard is what I heard, but I can’t help but think over and over, to make sure I heard correct. To be honest, I’m surprised they received an A?! I continue to buy food here to go, because I know what I’m going to get is good food. But there have been a few times where my family has come here, and we’ve seen a mess. Once we even saw one of the cooks napping in the booth. So yes, maybe not the cleanest of clean. But if you’re not extremely concerned about that and know the reputation they hold for food, then decide for yourself!

This is always the place to go when you’re craving some good, quick Thai food. My family and I have been coming here since I was little. The service is just okay. Not too bad. I do love their food though. My favorite is the beef Pad See Ew, the BBQ Chicken Plate, BBQ Pork Ribs, and the Fried Beef? Ball… Not too sure what kind of meat is in it, but we always ordered it. The sweet and sour sauce it comes with is delicious as well. The only thing I’m not too much of a fan of is their pad Thai. I just don’t like the sourness of it. Regardless, try this place. They also have good dessert. I like their exotic fruits(rambutan, lychee, coconut)

Extremely disappointed with the quality of the food tonight. I’ve been a customer of the original Thai BBQ for over 20 years and the quality and flavors have always been consistent. I used to frequent the LA locations on 3rd street and western when I lived in k-town. I now live in the South Bay and have been to this location several times. However, tonight the S-1(BBQ chicken dinner) and chicken pad see ew were completely off. Pad see ew was clumpy, it seem burned/dark and lacked the sweet/savory flavor. Chicken dinner portion was skimpy and also lacked the usual flavor. I order the beef salad for the first time and could not bring myself to finishing it. Completely lacked the usual tangy flavor that other spots usually have. Strike one! I’ll give this spot another try in a couple of months. Lastly, dear management: please hide your pesticides away from customers. I saw a spray can for bed bugs in the storage area between the women’s and men’s restrooms.

Not worth spending your money there. Food was not good. Service was ok. I tried the Ruby chicken diner and the hen was battered too much. Didn’t have that much of a good flavor either.

Been coming here for a long time now. Always have a good experience. — the pad Thai is full of flavor with the sauce and the nuttiness. — the chicken and spare ribs would have to be the most delicious meat related dishes. — the tables and seats are nicely arranged and have lots of space. However, — the place could use a lot of redecorating — it’s been the same appearance since I was a little paint. — throw some new paint on the walls, buy some new furniture… Something! — the service could use some improvement — staff is slow and rude. Like seriously, just leave me alone and let me enjoy my food!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I just keep coming back! This is actually the only thai restaurant I’ve been to so I can’t compare it to anything :(hopefully I can try other thai places in the future! FOOD: (The following dishes are my favorites) –Beef and chicken satay This dish comes with shrimp fried rice and two sauces. The rice is flavorful and has an orange color to it with egg and shrimp. I love love their satay! I think it’s marinated with curry? I’m not sure but it’s soooo delicious! I prefer the beef because it is very tender and just melts in your mouth. They pair so well with their peanut sauce! I don’t know the name of the other sauce but it is sweet, vinegary, and a little spicy. In this sauce, there are small chunks of cucumbers, red onions, and jalepeños. The downside is that it’s always a hit or miss with this dish. Sometimes the satays come out perfect, other times they are dried out and tough to eat! –Shrimp pad thai Omg where do I even start?! Just get this noodle dish and you won’t be disappointed! It consists of shrimp, egg, bean sprouts, crushed peanuts, noodles, and the pad thai sauce which I have no idea what it’s made out of, haha. Anyways, I love to top this off with more of their delicious peanut sauce and crushed peanuts! –Fried shrimp My family and I always order this appetizer. The ratio of shrimp and crispy breading is perfect! Dip it in the sweet chili sauce that comes with it and chase it down with slices of cucumbers. The freshness of the cucumbers adds a nice touch because it cuts through the heaviness of the fried shrimp. –Ribs I don’t think this is a thai dish but it is very good! It comes with four large tender ribs, shrimp fried rice, and a sweet pickled cucumber sauce. The ribs come off the bone easily and is an all around great dish to eat. –Masaman curry I love curries so I was excited to try this! It is a beef curry with coconut milk and chunks of potatoes! When I took my first bite, I was in curry heaven! Downside is that it was a small portion compared to the other dishes D; SERVICE: I never had a problem with their staff. They are friendly check up on you to ask if the food is good. AMBIANCE: Not the best, they can use some remodeling though. There’s a big fish tank when you walk in which is a plus for kids to look at.

Some things are destined to be just like how my mom and I found ourselves at Thai Original BBQ. I’ve had Thai Original BBQ on my bookmarks for awhile now. When it came to where to celebrate my mom’s birthday, we had other places in mind but by some stroke of luck those places were closed for the Labor Day holiday and we found ourselves going to Thai Original BBQ. We ordered two dishes. We got glass noodles with chicken($ 8.75) and the chicken ruby dinner($ 11.75). We found the food to be very good in both value and taste! The portion size is really good. There was lots of noodles and the chicken ruby is one whole baby hen. We had plenty for our meal as well as leftovers. Both dishes were delicious! The glass noodles were very flavorful. I liked the touch of eggs scrambled in with the noodles and the various veggies that were stir-fried. Our favorite however the chicken ruby. It was a tender and crispy chicken packed with pork and shrimp fillings. It’s definitely a dish to be shared. It was a good place for my mom’s birthday! Everything was delicious and very fulfilling!

The Thai Original BBQ Restaurant in Cerritos is better than this one. Visited this location for the first time July 29, 2014, an hour before closing. The hostess and server were nice and understanding(better than the Cerritos location), but I would say the ambiance/food is better in Cerritos. Reasons: The last time we tried coming here, they were closed for renovations.(Yes we should have called, but even with calling there wasn’t a message or an answer to notify us it was closed). We were seated on the fish tank side of the restaurant, this was our first time here but I couldn’t tell what the renovations were exactly. Our utensils were oily with fingerprints, we asked for new ones. Some of the employees were singing and talking loudly, it was kind of weird in a restaurant setting to be so casual. In our order of Pad Se Ew we found eggshells(included in pictures). The cripsy duck is better at the Cerritos location, it was dry. The peanut butter sauce to go with the Beef Satay was watery. & lastly, I don’t know if the prices have changed in general, but the entrees here are a dollar more than they are in Cerritos. Very candid in this review because I don’t think we are coming back, instead I would recommend Sriracha Thai Restaurant(21950 Avalon Blvd Set I Carson, CA90745) down avalon instead. Pictures will be included. Food was satisfying, but knowing the same restaurant in Cerritos does it better we will go to that one instead. & if we do want Thai food in Carson, we will be going to Sriracha instead. Hope this helps.
