I wish I could rate this place a 0. We will never come here again. We ordered a Texan Margarita Picture and it taste like water. The waitress was rude when I tried to tell her about the Margarita. We spoke to the manager and he was not helpful either. This place sucks!

Great lunch prices for a yummy meal. We were a little worried at first when they were leading us to their outside area. It had been snowing the day before. However, they’ve made outside just as warm as inside. That was pretty cool. Their lunch menu boasts awesome prices. You can get a full meal for $ 6. I ended up getting a shrimp taco salad(not on the lunch menu). I had a craving for shrimp. I know what you think, who orders shrimp at a mexican place? Well, jokes on you, because the shrimp was actually very good! They did not skimp on the shrimp at all. I felt like my meal was basically shrimp, lettuce, and beans. I wasn’t very impressed with the guacamole. I like it better chunky than liquidy and this one was basically liquid. However, overall I really enjoyed the taco salad. I was a little afraid it would be huge, but it was the perfect size. I would call it medium. They bring you chips and salsa and that was tasty as well. Service was prompt and food came quickly. I enjoyed the meal.

Vegetarians don’t eat here! I ordered veggie fajitas and found meat in it. All he did was take away the food and bring us our checks. I only ate half of it and paid extra for guacamole that I didn’t even eat. Nothing was taken off my bill or asked if I wanted something different to eat. The daquaris were very chunky and couldn’t get it up the straw so we had to ask for a bigger one which should have been brought out in the beginning. Service was not good either we had to flag our waiter down when we needed something. Not impressed. Won’t return again.

The margaritas were delicious but definitely overpriced. The bartender seemed overwhelmed and after taking our payment disappeared with our cards and cash for over twenty minutes. The room we were seated in had a moldy strange smell. The wait staff gave my plate to someone else at the table and had to recook my food. I didn’t mind the wait since I was two margaritas deep. I’m not sure if they rushed my food but when I did get the Yolanda’s they were just dry burritos. The menu said it had special sauce for a topping but there was nothing special on them. I brought most of my food home to add some spicy salsa and a little sour cream to it. Very bland food for a Mexican restaurant. The waiter tried to give me a second bill for my drink from the bar. I had to tell him no I already paid for it at the bar. I left feeling really unimpressed with every single aspect of the restaurant.

The Lazy Donkey is one of my favorite places to eat. However, today the chips were stale and my rice had very little if any cheese sauce on the dish that was suppose to have cheese(sauls special). Usually a very good place will try again and hope for better results

Service was ok. The food is absolutely not their strong point. Bland, dull and mediocre. The furniture needs updating and repair. The bathrooms look dingy… certainly a can of paint could be put to good use here. Be sure and ask how much beer is in the ‘big’ beer. It’s a lot… more than I’m used to in one glass. Really big. I had no problem with that. There has got to be a better tex-mex restaurant in Carrollton.

Gross! Super gross! Their beef burrito was just ground beef. Salsa made from soupy tamato paste. Nothing was even close to authentic Mexican cuisine. Way too many options on their menu which makes it very confusing. Chips were defiantly from a bag. The entire staff was boring and had no personality whatsoever. I would have been happier going to Taco Bell!!! Trust me, I lived in Guadalajara for over 3 years, so I know Mexican food, and this was just plain awful!

We go here atleast once a week! LOVEIT. Highly recommend. The chicken pasta is amazing, and everything else we’ve ever tried. Waiters and waitresses are always on point, and we never have an unreasonable wait. My only recommendation is: don’t sit out on the patio, we did this once and it seemed we were forgotten about

Service was terrible at my last visit. I don’t know what happened but our server could not seem to find our table. Will not be back anytime soon. Waited 30 minutes for the check and then took another 20 to process it.

2.5 stars for great value but mediocre tasting food. The amount of cheese wasn’t matched by the amount of flavor. The salsa and guacamole were above par– choice of creamy or chunky. Friendly service makes this an OK stop in the middle of nowhere.

Well, at least nobody assaulted us while we were there. Bland, boring food. Mediocre service. Loud inside. Wife got sick as soon as we got home. 1st time today and never going back.

Ordered the –one kids taco, bean and rice combo– the rice and beans decent the kids taco left the taco imagination. The ground meat had no taste the taco shell was soggy and flavorless –one 3 carnitas tacos, rice and bean combo– never in my life have I seen carnitas come in solid steak like fashion. When waitress to ask if everything was ok I let her know that the carnitas were solid masses of meat(flavorless) her response was she had not eaten that in a long time so she was not sure why they were like that. — cheese dip– decent nothing spectacular Overall like most other patrion — the environment leads you to believe that the mexican food would be more authentic and tasty as many Hispanic people are employed but nope. –side or refrained beans– can like. I have gone in past and had the tamales which were also decent. My son completely dislikes this place and it was only confirmed by out visit, that this is not a real mexican food place. 3 stars for attentiveness of staff and quick seating and price $ 20– for meal not including tax nor tip.

My favorite restaurant, by far! My family and I have been going to the Lazy Donkey since the 80’s. Back then, it was a little«hole-in-the-wall» place that was always crowded. Now it has been remodeled but still has the best chile relleno I have ever tasted! Everything I ever ordered has been great and is reasonably priced. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is for the service. Sometimes it can be slow, especially if your party is big. I also recommend the Chunky Guacamole Dip!

Worst Mexican Food Ever! I know this is Georgia, but come on, even Taco Bell is better than this place. Seeing that there were several Hispanics working there, I expected better than this. To play it safe, I ordered the Chile Relleno. Expecting to get a nice poblano pepper stuffed with meat and/or cheese, dipped in egg white batter and fried and served with a ranchero sauce on top is usually standard. This place encases a small strip of poblano pepper and loads of watery white cheese in a corn dog type batter and then deep fries it. It had to be the most unusual«Mexican» dish I have ever had. Needless to say, all the other dishes that my group ordered suffered from watery white cheese and blandness.

We enjoyed our meal. Service was very slow though. On a Monday night the restaurant was very busy with a wedding shower. This might have slowed down the service, but that should not have effected us. Over all it is a good place with decent food. Worth to check it out.

All the hype about this place gave me high expectations and maybe that’s the reason for my low review but I simply was not impressed. It seems like Carrollton being slightly isolated from metro Atlanta keeps the people their with lower standards of what is good or not. Also I got my food to go so maybe the quality of my food would have been better had it not sat in plastic containers for a half hour but in all I though the food was barely ok.

This place has been around forever! We decided to meet up with some old friends here before the parties started for the holidays so came around 8pm on a Sunday. «Patio» seating(plastic roof and walls) was warm enough even in late December and it is a bit easier for bigger groups. I ordered some food for a late supper and they also brought out the salsa and chips. I had two sangrias(I usually can only drink one, these were a bit weak) and the sopapilla ice cream for dessert — good, but they used to make it fancier with more ice cream, I won’t be ordering that again. Our server was friendly and overall the experience was«A-OK» — I’ll probably be back at some point when I visit again, but I wouldn’t say it’s a «must go to» if you aren’t from the area.
