So. First time at a Great Clips. I knew going in that the value proposition of a Great Clips is quick and cheap — but I learned today that their stylists are really good. I just moved up from Houston, where I got $ 50 haircuts from an upscale salon, and have been going to Sportclips for the past couple months. I decided to try this Great Clips since I was in the area. It’s not that clean, you don’t get treated like a superstar, and my stylist actually had a little Cheeto powder on her fingers. But dangit, it was on par with those $ 50 haircuts I used to get, and faster. If you can suck it up in regard to the overall atmosphere(you get what you pay for), quality and price actually combine into quite a good deal.

Needed a haircut near the closing time. Called and they said absolutely, come on over. I have medium length«fine» straight hair with layers. Nothing unusual about it. I told Tiffani I wanted to be able to curl my hair with a curling iron and so the ends needed to be cut evenly. She haphazardly cut my hair and then used thinning shears to «blend». When I got home I turned my head upside down and my 17 yr old daughter said«Mom! Why is one side so much longer, did she forget to cut that side?» I see that many people like this place. go there is you have to just be careful if you have Tiffani cut your hair to be very specific and if you have longer hair she would not be a good choice for you. Also, Tiffani hasn’t cut her hair in over 2 years. She does not believe in cutting her hair. A hairstylist who doesn’t believe in cutting her hair?

Walk in and they will ask for your number. I’m usually very skittish about giving info to businesses, but I have been going to Great Clips for years and I know they don’t misuse it. They store your name and your haircut preferences, who cut it last, etc. I’ve always had great service here and would not hesiatte to recommend to low-maintenance guys. I feel like I see more and more women getting trims at Great Clips lately, just keep in mind that this ain’t Paul Mitchell. It’s a very basic place, giving it 4 stars for quality, service and low upsell pressure. I won’t give it 5 stars because they allow online check in and I am NOT a fan of that, I think people abuse it.
