I stayed here for the first time the night before my wedding. So I visited the hot tub, great and spacious. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast bar had a lot of different choices. Mmmm who doesn’t like complimentary breakfast. My overall experience was very pleasant and relaxing for the night before my big day. This hotel was exactly what I needed.

Rude front desk girl, no clock in room, security lock broken off on door, no do not disturb sign… for $ 100 a night? I don’t think so… Rural Iowa or not, I’m not staying here again. Desk didn’t mention breakfast, wifi or fitness center. Rude young girl needs to learn some manners…

I’m not exactly booking hotel rooms in rural Iowa left and right, so I have no standard for comparison. But $ 82/night for a king bed seemed damn reasonable for: — Large, spotless room with flatscreen, microwave, etc.(peeking into other rooms, all of them looked identical) — Very comfortable beds with real sheets and covers, not that plasticky crap — Great water pressure(Iowan water is disconcertingly«soft» though. That, or the hotel uses a water softener?) — Pool and heated spa — Free use of the gym across the parking lot — Complimentary breakfast 6−10am(involved a waffle maker that was fun to play with) — Functional free wifi(useful in a part of the country totally lacking T-Mobile and AT&T cell reception) The front desk was friendly, everything felt new and clean, and I was, honestly, surprised that this was a Days Inn. Some people who had a room at the nearby Carrollton Inn reported having a less enjoyable stay. The only inconvenience was that our window on the first floor looked right out onto the parking lot, which meant I had to be fully clothed if the room was to see any daylight. It’s not a real vacation unless you can prance around naked in the hotel room.

This is a decent place to stay in Carroll. My rate was $ 79. Free wireless. PC workstation in the lobby with printing — also free. The woman at the desk sent a fax for me for free, and processed a few incoming packages for me during my stay. Decent selection of channels on the TV. Free breakfast from 6 — 10. Sheets are always nice and clean. Bed is comfortable, but the pillows suck. Towels are old but clean. Security was circumvented for most of my stay by some construction workers in town from Texas that kept propping the back door open with a rock and leaving it like that all night.
