Too expensive. I like the food trucks better. Too much quantity of all natural ingredients, you know, not enough deep flavor. Try Armadillos Nacho Dip for that deep flavor. Just kidding. But no hook factor for me. I like my flavors complex. Deep flavor. Not wholesome stuffing/salty. 4 stars for effort. Keep up the good work.

Was pretty good food, and extremely affordable. Everything was made right there in front of you. I ordered the soft shell fish tacos and they were very good. The perfect amount of food. We also split some guacamole which was also quite tasty! The chips themselves were the best part in my opinion! They were the right level of crispy and soft. The salsa options were fun and interesting to pick from. I got the sweet salsa with pineapple and it was very good! Would definitely come back for a second visit the next time I am in Chapel Hill/Carrboro!

Why has no other Mexican joint discovered the delicacy that is the flour chip? It’s like the holy grail of chips, and that includes Erik Estrada.

One of my favorite places to go to pick up a quick burrito! I always get a burrito with the arbol salsa(amazing) and an horchata. I love how they fill your bag with delicious chips. Sometimes there isn’t seating, but very easy to take out food. I would definitely recommend!

We went here for Friday lunch. I got the soft shell tacos with Chorizo and the habanero salsa. The tacos did not come with chips, but tasted a chip from my coworker and it was delicious. I loved the variety in the salsa bar but you do not have direct access to the bar, you have to ask for what you want. The tacos were decently priced and came loaded with lots of meat, it was filling and tasty. I will definitely be back and will maybe try the burritos and something else from the salsa bar.

I’m all about supporting local businesses, so if there’s a place I can get good burrito or quesadilla while supporting a local business, I’m there. I was hoping Carrburritos would be this place for me, but I was very disappointed. The service left a lot to be desired. No one was rude, per say, but they were far from kind. Apparently they were confused about the quesadilla that I ordered(?), and it took 3 different people talking to me about it to resolve my order. Further, I still received the wrong food — my chicken quesadilla had no chicken in it. They fixed the order, but I was not impressed with the food. Everything was painfully average. Nothing special. I will not go there again, because I don’t think it’s worth the money. It’s slightly more expensive than Chipotle and not nearly as good.

This Mexican establishment in Carrboro has a non-distinct location but the food is far from that when eaten. The«make your own» motto gives you the independence to make your entrée and take ownership. Meats are prepared tastefully so burying them in a burrito or enchilada builds you up to delicious food. Recommend if looking for a Mexican place that’s quick and tasty!

THEFISHTACOS! Freshly grilled tilapia in the most generous of portions. House made avocado cream sauce and fresh flour tortilla chips. As far as salsas, i would recommend the frutas salsa, which is a sweet pineapple salsa. This place is a delicious, fresh, and a truly beloved local joint! The only reason it gets a 4 is because on busy days, sometimes tables don’t get cleared and it can be a little cramped.

Helpful service, and al fresco seating with a tree full of cute little sparrows who would like your crumbs. Marinated tofu special was like discovering wet sponges in your burrito. My mistake for ordering. Pesky flies everywhere. Eventually left as they were both inside and out on the patio.

So I thought this place was amazing until they totally messed up my order. They gave me two chicken instead of veggie. Worst is that we don’t eat meat and I didn’t even know until I got home with the food. When my husband went up there to return and complain they would t refund us only give him an employee discount. He was so hungry he took it. But we had to pay twice and for their mistake. This experience changed my feelings for this place completely and feel this is terrible customer service. The lesson here is check your food before you leave cause they might have made it ALL wrong.

As a new Carrboro resident, the foodie bf and I have anxiously begun our journey to good food. Carrburritos was a great start; I got the Regular burrito with TOFU filling. I highly recommend the tofu filling, which apparently is available on Tofu Tuesdays! The tofu was fried, crisp on the outside, slightly spongy on the inside, a.k.a. perfecto. The Regular comes with your filling of choice plus beans, cheese, lettuce, and salsa fresca. For $ 8 you can get a Regular and a side of their delicious chips! They tasted homemade, not like some cheap ass store bought shiet. Excuse the lingo. We will definitely return to try other burritos!

Since I just noticed almost ALL of my reviews were written in anger and negative, that I would give a positive review to somewhere I LOVE! As a vegetarian, I find most burrito choices in town kinda lame, BUT Carrburittos really rocks their selections! The chips are to die for as well as their vast array of salsa’s. A few years back some little brat was screaming his head off(actually more SCREECHING I guess). One of the staff went to her and told her that they couldn’t allow the kid to ruin everyone’s meal there and could she get them a to go box. Who does that!!! I have been going here for years and plan on doing so ’till I drop dead.

After returning to Carrburritos during a late Friday lunch, I had a very different experience atmosphere-wise but over all, still the same food impression. It was much nicer visiting during the day post lunch crowd, pre dinner crowd, because it was MUCH less crowded! As far as service, I’ve always had an okay experience, people aren’t extra nice but they aren’t grumpy. They do their job and deliver the food, no strings or smiles attached. As far as food, it’s okay but I’ve never eaten something that is rush back for, although I do love their baked chips. After trying the fish tacos this past week, they were good, but just lacked a little flavor. Instead of a coleslaw like most fish tacos, they serve them with lettuce, guac and chopped tomatoes, a little lackluster. Salsa bar on this visit was better then my previous visits, but I hate inconsistency. Overall, I just can’t get behind the Carrburritos love, it’s okay but there are so many better options in Chapel Hill. P. S. If you have to pee you got to ask for a key!

I will start off by saying I don’t think I got the right thing and this review MAY improve with further tries! Overall good/simple menu with fresh ingredients. I got the carnitas burritos… which was just not good. The carnitas had no flavor. Based on just my burrito this would be a 2 star review. I soaked my burrito in salsas for flavors and didn’t even finish it≠0 I did however have a bite of the chorizo burrito-which was delicious. Next to try will be the quesadillas or tortas… but not with carnitas!!! Other pluses: Salsas were delicious. Alcohol! Affordable. Great service. Negatives: No AC!!! Carnitas.

Holy SHIT these burritos are good. Nothing but great things to say about this place. There was a long line when we got there, but the two guys behind the counter worked extremely fast, taking orders and assembling food simultaneously. The atmosphere is funky and local, with cool paintings and outdoor seating. I got the mejor burrito with rice and fresh tomatoes. The tortilla was warm and pliable, the rice and beans were well-seasoned, the cheese melted seductively into the other fillings, and most importantly, they didn’t skimp on the guac and sour cream! Though the burrito itself was enormous, the ratios of each ingredient were spot on. The house made tortilla chips(especially the flour ones) are pure heaven. It’s pretty much just a hipper, fresher, elevated version of Chipotle with lots more options and more bang for your buck. Next time I want to try the sweet potato and caramelized onion filling! Or the carnitas! I’ll be back!

The food, while it aims at a healthy offering of Mexican cuisine, comes up short in that their items are lackluster, under-seasoned, and rather plain. I would have rated them one star except that they do emphasize fresh, made-to-order items and can’t be faulted for that. They can be faulted for the lack of flavor of food they offer. After several attempt over the years, I’m finally giving up on this local joint. The flour chips are overly oily and the corn chips are dry and underwhelming. The salsa are fresh but unremarkable. The Quesadillas were dry and the chicken tasteless.

Walking distance to downtown Carborro? Check. Near a major university(UNC Chapel Hill)? Check. Good tacos and burrittos? Check. Inexpensive? Check. Did I say really good food? Check. May I introduce Carrburitos! It’s a funky joint that serves tacos and burritos(and other items), fresh and made to order. You pick your meat, and it comes a variety of toppings. I chose the carnitas tacos with lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Then comes the salsas. The salsa are made fresh in house and are delicious. We chose salsa fresca and salsa fritas(pineapple salsa). They are were amazing!!! Paired with their house made tortilla chips? Fantastic combination. The tacos were delicious too. The meat was juicy, dripping with flavor. It’s a messy taco but it’s worth it. Prices are affordable and they have a variety of options for food. It’s brightly painted inside, small and cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is great, very friendly. Love it.

Carrburritos has my favorite fish tacos in the world. I know this because I had to stop ordering fish tacos at other restaurants as they cannot compare. Carrburritos, you are my one and only. Now that I no longer live in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area(yeah, I know, Raleigh isn’t that far), it takes much more effort to get back to the restaurant, but I absolutely adore it. I miss the flour tortilla chips, the tamarind jarritos(even though I can buy them here, it’s not the same), and the delicious margaritas. I miss waiting patiently for a table outside on a warm day, and the long waits at dinner. Please move closer to me. I will be there every single day.

On the way to Carborro to see a concert, my dad and I went on Unilocal to find a place to eat. Luckily, we stumbled upon this gem. When we walked in, I immediately noticed the lively ambiance and how busy the place was. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was quick and relatively friendly. I ordered a mejor carnitas burrito(which comes with carnitas, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, salsa and chips on the side). The burrito was delicious and the portions of meat were HUGE(about two-thirds of the burrito was meat). The burrito was larger than a Chipotle burrito, yet it had thrice the amount of meat. The burrito wasn’t just big; it was also very tasty. In fact, it was so good that I had no leftovers! I highly recommend the carnitas. After ordering our food, we were informed that there are six salsas(each of which have a fan club!) made with fresh ingredients at the restaurant and we could choose to try as many of them as we wished. The salsas are all unique, homemade and wonderful. Frankly, this place has the best salsa I’ve ever had! I would recommend trying all of them and getting extra chips! The medium-spicy smoky Chipotle was our favorite, but I’m a fan of all of the ones I tried. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area! When I come back, I’ll try all of the salsas and get extra chips.

Carrburritos is a local favorite. My family has gotten take out once a week for about five years now, so I’ve tasted most of the menu. Everything is really fresh and delicious, and while their monstrously sized burritos are super popular, and tasty, I usually go for the sweet potato quesadillas or the fish tacos. If you’re dining in, try the ceviche! It’s pretty good and also very fresh. And of course don’t forget the chips and salsa! I love their chip mix and the salsa is seriously addicting. My family has to order two giant tubs of salsa bc certain family members could/would/do eat the entire tub in one sitting. + 1 for delicious food + 1 for outdoor dining + 1 for offering great veggie options + 1 for awesome drinks(margs!!) + 1 for ceviche. In chapel hill. At a casual restaurant + 100000000 for being local, and not chipotle!!!
