Incredibly friendly, fun joint. Nothing fancy, but that’s not what they’re aiming for, I don’t think.

Hope you like Miller Light!!! Posters and signs for lots of different beers and Hard Ciders but ask for them and get laughed at… Definitely a local dive bar. No food, not that I would eat anything from here anyway. The driveway for this bar is tiny and blink you will miss it. I can’t say I’d recommend going here if you own more than 10 teeth.

Sad what this place has come to. Used to be one of my favorites, nice people, GREAT bartenders. The place has done a 180. I don’t know if the building is having problems but sitting at the bar, you can smell sewage. The staff has been revamped– and not for the better– This place used to feel like home, now the familiar faces are gone and there is an aura about the place that if you don’t know an employee specifically– you don’t belong. Not very welcoming at all. I felt uncomfortable and left after my first drink. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.

Have a bike? This is all you! They don’t serve food but frozen pizza chips and peanuts but that’s not why you come here. It’s like being in your best friend’s garage drinking beer. Every bar tender has been sweet and cute too. Danielle, Taylor, and Jackie are some good girls. But everyone is so inviting. Large outdoor area with that traditional orange and black décor. Ps this is a clean bar too not a shitty biker bar. We love it and come back weekly since we moved to the area.

Will not be back after the recent change in staff. Those bartenders are the only reason my friends and I went there.

As far as «bars» go ya cant get better then this! Great people, Good prices and always friendly staff! They make ya feel at home. If you want flash, people with attitudes/posers or over priced drinks dont come here.

Oh my gosh! We had thee time of our lives at Skeeter’s! Not only are the bartenders a blast but the owners are the nicest people. Very personable place to hang with cheap mixed drinks if you ask me. We loved playing horseshoes in the yard. Being able to take our drinks outside to have a smoke and sit at a picnic table in the sun — what could be better! Loved the place and definitely will be back!

I used to love the Bittersweet which was a bar, hidden up a dirt(now paved road), attached to a ranch house complete with a swing set in the yard. Now its called«Skeeter’s» and its tidied up a bit and the smoking ban has helped but its till a ten stool, two dart board, three table hole in the wall. Drinks are cheap and staff is friendly. As a matter of fact Leah is hoping to become a Loop girl, and I wish her the best of luck. Downside? Really none, just hate when bartenders are texting behind the bar when they could be engaging me in pointless conversation and the swing set appears to be missing. And the smell of a sump pump or sewage in the ladies room, Yuck.

Another loacation in Carpentersville that has changed names, «Bittersweet Tap» is now called«Skeeters» with a mesquito logo to boot. I, on the other hand, prefer«Bittersweet Tap». What better name could you possibly have for a bar in some dude’s garage than«Bittersweet Tap». Stay classy C’ville.
