Simply put the best doughnuts on earth! The only problem is they aren’t open year round and the lines are long because they are so good. They are also not that great a couple of days later but that’s every doughnut.

I thought donuts didn’t get any better than Krispy Kreme. I was wrong.

Probably the best of Glazed Donuts in North Carolina… period. You wait in line forever but that just makes you crazy for the donuts when you finally get them hot and ready. It is an experience to be sure. You have to give them a try.

I have tried Britts twice now; I can not provide anything other than one star. I have tried them both hot and cold. The only taste that comes through is massive amounts of sugar. Yes, I know that a glazed donut is made with a sugar glaze, however one should taste the body of the donut. Sorry Britts fans, but thumbs down.

What’s not to like about a donut? This place is famous in CB. Go early to avoid very long lines…

Yes it is worth the wait… don’t get out of line!!! Make sure you at least order ½ a dozen, they we’re AMAZING!!! My husband and I got them for the 3 hour road trip back home and they were definitely all gone by the time we got home between the two of us. I think it’s just as good as Krispy Kreme, maybe even a little better. Don’t forget the coffee with it.

Simple place, amazing donuts! If you want to-die-for donuts then make your way here. Their glaze donuts will make you wonder why other donut shops served donuts with chocolate, jelly fillings, etc… Glazed Donut: Light and fluffy like a cloud, but savory as a home cooked meal made by mom. The warm sugar exterior satisfied my little sweet tooth and the doughy interior was reminiscent of fresh challah from a Jewish bakery. It wasn’t excessively sweet and eating one donut won’t make you feel like you need to run on a treadmill for hours. Expand your global palate at Britt’s Donuts if you want to eat a REAL donut!

Forget that beach body! I want that Britts donuts body! Always amazing, even left over on the next day.

Awesome donuts! I am usually not a big fan of donuts, but these were so delicious! The donuts had a thin crunchy crust and remained soft and chewy on the inside. We drove 30 minutes to Carolina beach just to pick up these donuts. Worth it! There was no line when we were there since it was near the end of summer. When the to-go line is too long, opt for sitting at the bar. You can always eat one and take the rest to go. Do yourself a favor and go for a dozen. You will want more after trying one!

SERIOUSLY!!! The BEST Doughnuts you will ever eat. This business has stood the test of time. I had my first doughnut from here about 37 years ago and just took my son this past summer. He of course loved them. Wish I could give them 10 stars!

I ate four last week. And I didn’t gain a single pound. Annnnd One of the above statements is a lie. It’s okay though because Britt’s doughnuts are worth the countless hours I’ll have to spend in Gym Purgatory to fit into my pants again. Really, who needs pants when donuts like these exist? Britt’s should rethink their marketing. Make it a no pants zone. All the donuts. None of the pants. It’d be wild. I’m guessing national media coverage. Maybe a spot on the Tonight Show. Hell, I might never leave. I wonder how long before the diabetes sets in? A few tips — Don’t take them to go. Eat them right then and there. Honestly, you’re not going to want to go do anything afterward once you enter the sugary sweet coma post Britt’s. They’re not good cold or reheated really. You may not want to stray too far away because the cravings are going to hit. You need to stay nearby to sate the cravings and curb the withdrawal symptoms. Wear comfy shoes. The line can take an hour to get through. If you don’t feel like waiting in the line, grab a bar seat and be served up front and center. Order a drink. Just do it. Go back. Again and again. It’s worth it.

DONUTS. DONUTSOFTHEGODS. Seriously the most delicious donut I’ve ever put in my mouth. No, they don’t have varieties, they don’t have jellies, they don’t have sprinkles. Order a bag of a dozen and put them in your face hole. Then you will understand.

Made one of the biggest mistakes when I came to this place… I only left with 3 donuts!(I should have left with at least a ½ dozen, or more!)

To be honest, I was totally skeptical with the reviews that these donuts were little round pieces of fried dough heaven. The first smell of that sugary and oily smell of donut put my mind at ease. They are, indeed, worth the wait. They’re basically the North Carolinian version of the beignet: light and airy, melt in your mouth, and perfectly sweet but not overbearingly sugary. Like others me mentioned, the line for Britt’s was on the long side but a hot and fresh donut is worth it. They’re only a dollar per donut so get a dozen! This is definitely a place to stop by if you’re anywhere near the Carolina coast area. It’s cash only, but there’s an ATM nearby.

Okay, so I’m going to admit that I couldn’t get myself to wait over an hour for a fresh hot donut from Britt’s — BUT, I did have a generous friend who was able to snag a bag of them the next morning for me. So how were they, even though they’re weren’t fryer fresh? HEAVENLY. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of bounce back from a bite, these donuts were absolutely delicious. Unlike an apple cider donut or one from a DD, these were almost croissant-like with the perfect sugary coating. Having its start in the early 1930’s, I can’t help but to wonder where the infamous NYC cronut may have gotten it’s start …

There comes a point in time where things become dull. Life moves much as a leaf that has fallen onto a stream meandering its way into an abyss, hoping for something to excite, something to change, something different. For those who have never experienced Britts Donuts, it is likely that you may find yourself in such doldrums. However, once you have gotten your lips caked in the buttery sweet sugar glaze ontop the chewy yet slightly salty goodness that are Britts Donuts, you will finally realize… everything. Put simply these, these donuts are a gift from a higher being. Created with the perfect amount of love and lard they present a harmony of the sorts that has only ever been talked in conversations between grandmothers and their grandchildren on the rocking chairs outside the farm. As you sit there, at that white table, and watch those kids flip the brown little toroids of goodness, one cannot help but wonder why problems even exist in the world. These donuts will change you. They changed me(clearly I sound changed). Get off the highway to carolina beach and grab a dozen while they are hot.

Impossible to put into words how perfect these donuts are. I have traveled all around the country and these are the most perfect yeast donuts . The way the donuts first inflate like a balloon and then shrink to create a textured surface that holds the glaze is part of the magic.

Worth a 30 minute drive if you are a fan of glazed yeast donuts! They are comparable to Krispy Kreme’s plain glazed — light & fluffy with a delectable glaze that is sweet but not too sweet and perhaps a touch of salt. They aren’t as smooth as the KK, more flaky like a croissant but taste just as delicious. The coffee was good — my guess is a medium or light to medium roast. There is lots of parking around(you have to pay $ 1.50/hour at the lot we parked at). There was a short line(10 people) and spaces opened up for counter seating too. Service was friendly and fast. As others mention they are open end of March — September and take cash only. If there is not seating at the shop, walk around and you’ll find a lot of picnic tables and benches around the boardwalk.
