If I would have read the Unilocal reviews first, I never would have visited here(thankfully I didn’t have my iPad with me). We were hungry, and driving by this place looked interesting. So on the way back(even hungrier then), we stopped in to give it a try. Bought the whole chicken, cut-up, for $ 5.99, along with a couple of large sides(mashed potatoes and green beans) for about $ 4 each. I hate ordering green beans from carry out Chicken places, because most tend to lack flavor(and are over salted) and tend to be very«rubbery»(think Boston Market). But the broccoli only came mixed with rice, so I’m like«Fine, give me the green beans»(my 9-year-old likes the«rubbery» ones anyway). Well, to my and my wife’s delight(and our son’s dismay), those green beans were fantastic. As was the chicken and mashed potatoes. Even my son who did not think as highly of the green beans(who requests Boston Market at least twice a month), contends that their chicken and mashed potatoes are«WAYBETTER» and says that he now has a NEW«favorite carry-out chicken place.» I think this is the first time ever that all three of us shared the same sentiments for a restaurant. Hopefully, those negative reviews from Unilocalers were just bad days, and this visit was not a fluke!

Food was very tasty and healthy! Seasoned just right, not salty as many faster food places are. Portion sizes were perfect. Our group of three ordered steak, BBQ sandwich and a salad — everything was great! The combined price was around $ 25. If you want fancy food, this is not the place to go. If you want tasty, home cooked quality food, served quickly, this is the place to go! Their homemade chicken soup was amazing too!

I give a half a star for the customer service and another half for the texas toast. Other than that it was pretty awful. I ordered some steak kabobs, grilled chicken and various sides to go. First, it took a total of 30 minutes for the food to be prepared. Too long for an order that barely feeds 4. When I got home my husband said the food smelled odd. After a few bites of the overcooked steak we realized the kabobs were spoiled. So we moved onto the chicken and sides. The mashed potatoes were poor quality and the slaw and baked beans were just ok. After a few questionable bites of the chicken, it seemed this might have been spoiled as well. We went back to the restaurant and thankfully they gave us a full refund. I’m not one to usually complain and it takes a lot for me to write a bad review, but seriously, this place is bad.

Same as Checkers. Same ownership(family). That said, this time I wasn’t left waiting at the counter for 10 minutes before they noticed me, and they weren’t advertising a deal on a counter placard that they couldn’t actually sell me at the time. Glad I gave them another chance. I’ve smelled these guys repeatedly. I live in the neighborhood, occasionally bike nearby, I shop at the Dominick’s next door, I use the dry cleaners around the corner in the same plaza. Got, to-go, a half chicken, side of mashed, side of baked beans, for under $ 10. Got home and enjoyed it a few minutes later. Nothing special, but not bad. For under $ 10, I ate very well. I would, and probably will, do it again.

I work in the area occasionally and decided to give Broosters a try. I have seen other locations in Lombard and Darien but have never stopped. I figured i have seen them around for a long time and I’m seeing more of their restaraunts are opening so they must be doing something right. Well, i was correct! The presentation of the restautant was very clean and well mantained and a friendly staff… good start :) I ordered the half chicken dinner, mashed potatoes, rice and broccoli and texas toast. Boy was I satisfied, thier chicken has a nice seasoning, very moist and a great flavor. Loved dipping the texas toast in the mashed potatoes. Yum yum! Looking forward to the next time I am in the area, you have my buisness!

Hands down, the best chicken around! I just tried the ribs for the first time, and they are top notch too. I recently had an event catered by Broosters. The food was great as usual, and the service was great too. I highly recommend it!

My family and I had the combo chicken/ribs dinner. It was excellent. I got hooked on their unique seasoning and tender chicken at another location. There is a nice ‘apple’ task to their BBQ that I also like. The prices were reasonable but I really like that we had plenty of sides and food left over. It tastes just as good reheated the next day! The service was good but they were on the quiet side. The menu was also a bit confusing — not clearly showing what you get. I think they can fix these signage issues. Lets keep this excellent option alive in our neighborhood.

Glad you guys came closer to my home. Great food at a great price, hopefully will put some of these overpriced competitors out of business. Just look for the coupon and I was told that it was able to be used at the new location by the friendly staff. You can’t beat 2 sirloin steak dinners for 14.99. I usually get a mashed and baked potato as my 2 sides and the texas toast is great. Free refills on the soda if you dine in. The only place for chicken as good as this is Costco for 4.99 a whole BIG juicy chicken but for dine in this is the best in the area. Welcome to the area, it is only a 5 minute drive for me now instead of 30 minutes.

Not so good. It was almost $ 16.00 for one piece of garlic bread, a tiny side of cole slaw, and a half chicken with an extra leg and thigh. Prices would have been fine if the chicken hadn’t been dried out practically to jerky. Two of us were sharing, and neither of us ate more than 5 bites. Waste of money, and I definitely wouldn’t go back. It’s sad when you want to support a local business, but you’d be better off spending your money at KFC.

Ordered take out ½ chicken, dry, garden salad, chopped head lettuce and tomatoes were okay, cole slaw I could not eat and a soggy piece of garlic bread.

I ordered food to go, so I don’t have much feedback on the restaurant itself, but it appeared nice and clean and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately that was the high point. I ordered a half chicken with BBQ pork, mashed potatoes, green beans and texas toast. Nothing tasted very good at all. The chicken had a weird seasoning that tasted strange and the half was already cut up — maybe that is why it was barely warm after a 10 – 15 min drive home? If that was it, it wouldn’t be so bad, but the green beans were so salty you couldn’t eat them, and they tasted like canned beans, not fresh. The mashed potatoes are very similar to what you had from the cafeteria in school from the lunch service, and the texas toast was ice cold and soggy. The BBQ was un-remarkable, but edible. My wife put a frozen pizza in the oven halfway through. I feel bad, given a 1 for food that just tastes bad, but a friend saw my check in there and stopped a bit later to get dinner too, and his experience wasn’t any better, so sadly, the food is just not good here. Sorry

My first visit was«New Opening» pains I believe. I went back and ordered the exact same thing as my first visit. Two steak dinners, two sides with each and two drinks. What a difference my second visit was! Two of the most incredible steaks I have ever had in my life! Yes, a Jameson’s quality meal at a carry out place! Steaks were cooked to perfection, tender, juicy and delicious. I am a fan and will go back often now! Friendly service, quick and good! Fine dining quality at carry out prices!
