For those that don’t know, Carmine, Texas is a place where you can find real authentic Texan antiques as it’s the location of a giant, huge weeks long, miles wide antique fair twice a year. A few shops stay open year round and this is one. I found a large group of US Postage stamps that were intended to be commemorative but for some reason were priced at 50% off the actual face value. I bought all of them and will use them to ship packages, but the very fact that it was US Postage at half off modern rates, proves that there are good finds here. Even in the stamp collecting world you will never find old stamps at 100% face value. I don’t understand why, but I got a great deal. They also have a very interesting selection of local art in a tiny side gallery.
