Cut Loose Hair Design and Boutique

I called to make an appointment during business hours, no answer. Tryed several times still no answer. I drive over to see if they could get me in. No, half of their staff was not in yet.
I am sorry to have to write this, but I only got to talk to receptionist and no one else. I was nice but I could not get a hair cut so I can not give them more than one star or any kind of good review. I was looking for a new stylist but will look for another place to spend my money. I am going out of town tomorrow and this was the only chance I had to look nice for the trip and the meeting I have to attend. thanks for that!

I have been coming to Kellie for the past 10 years for all my hair needs. She always does a fabulous job! I would highly recommend this salon and Kellie in particular!

I was a 12 year client, and yesterday when I was unhappy with my hair cut I was told to find a new hairdresser. I even offered to pay to have it fixed. If I knew she was going to drop me as a loyal client who brought her clients then I wouldn’t have paid her yesterday much less tipped. I’m now stuck with a haircut I hate, and now I have to find a new hairdresser to try and fix it, and pay for it again too! I do not recommend this salon, I am also telling all my friends and family not to go to your salon anymore. I am absolutely shocked at the unprofessional way I was treated. Kellie was someone I considered a friend as well, so this is extremely hurtful. I can understand that receiving criticism can be extremely hard, but I thought I could be honest about my hair. Don’t go here people, find a different salon.

Stellar experience! Jaime was beyond awesome with my unruly hair. I find this salon to be very cute. I love that it is right in Carmichael and in an old house and not a strip mall.
I really liked how she consulted with me before cutting and really educated me on how to treat this curly/​wavy hair. It looks so cute and I couldn’t be more pleased or impressed.

I’ve been going here for over a decade and I love Jamie. She’s the best at coloring and has always been super helpful and flexible. She listens and really takes the time to explain and answer any questions.
This shop also has the most adorable jewelry and crafts. I would highly recommend visiting this shop.

Kellie Villalovos is the best! I have been going to her for years now and I will not trust anyone else with my hair! Kellie always knows what will look best on me and she is always up on the latest trends. Cut Loose is such a cute salon, it always makes me feel comfortable. It’s easy to find, easy to park. If you’re looking for a new salon, definitely go to Cut Loose!

Cut Loose is the best. My wife and I have been dedicated «patients» of Katie for a couple of decades. Everyone that works here has the highest standards and the atmosphere is always delightful.

I love this place! They do a little of everything, even though I usually just get my hair done by Jaime. The front desk is always professional and sweet. The salon is also always selling jewelry, scarfs, purses, etc. So I get to do a little shopping as well! About 7 years ago I was in search of a hair stylist to get my color perfect for my upcoming wedding. Well I was lucky enough to find Jaime. She is awesome! She is great at doing my color, especially taking my hair blonde (which for my color processed hair is a challange!) But she always succeeds in taking me from blonde to dark brown and back again :) I have been to many different salons, but Cut Loose is hands down my favorite. Which has kept me coming back everytime, no matter how long I have to wait for an appointment. Obviously Jaime is great at what she does so she can be booked out a bit, but worth it!

Best price, cut & color ever with my hair stylist Lauren! She is super down to earth, chill & accommodating! Service here is great & everyone is nice.

A girlfriend of mine has been seeing Jenn for cuts and colors for over ten years; after seeing her amazing hair all the time I decided to try her out; that was three years ago and I haven’t looked back.
Jenn is especially good at the ever so popular ombré technique. I get stopped by strangers regarding my ombré hair. I often run our of business cards for Jenn because of how good she does my hair.

Sherry the owner, cuts my hair and she understands-​do you know how important that is?! I have long blonde hair and its fine and wispy, she knows how to deal with that, and I always leave feeling pleased. The atmoshpere is friendly and fun!

I purchased a Groupon for a facial at Cut Loose. I was skeptical about getting a facial from a business that mainly does hair and not a day spa. Since the business is basically within walking distance, and one of my neighbors said very good things about a hair cut, I decided to try it out.
I’m so happy with the facial I received! Cynthia made my skin look and feel better; she talked when I wanted to talk and was quiet when I wanted to be quiet; she also educated me on a couple of things that I could do at home to help with my skin; and the massage on the face, hands and arms — better than a glass of wine!
Cut Loose is a clean salon with very friendly staff. It is a large converted house with the main floor mostly for hair, while the upstairs rooms are for massage/​nails and facials. If you are claustrophobic, or are tired of the tiny rooms that some spas have, this is the place for you.
Added bonus — all the wonderful unique items for sale! I purchased a pair of earrings, but keep thinking about a handbag that was in the waiting area.
Would I go back to Cut Loose for another facial from Cynthia? — YES!
Recommend her? — YES!

I went today for the first time and Lauren gave me one of the best haircuts I have had in years. My hair is wavy and curly in different places with two cowlicks at the crown and one at the front. My hair is short but I am trying to grow it longer.
Why Lauren is outstanding: 1. She really listens. 2. She doesn’t it take it personally when you tell her what you want; she is very professional. 3. She is very skilled and explained weird things about my hair that no one else has even noticed (e.g. cowlick in the front). 4. She managed to balance my hair’s weird curls and cowlicks with my desire to grow it out and my hair looks GREAT. 5. She was ready on time, which was great, because I was on my lunch hour. 6. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR FOLKS WITH CURLY/​WAVY HAIR.
I went to the same stylist, Laurie at Adorn in Santa Fe, for three years, the last time in 2010, and Lauren is the first stylist I have found who is as good as Laurie.
Great things about the salon: Low key, friendly, great jewelry for sale, really diverse clientele, great atmosphere because it’s in an old house.

Just because Lauren is my friend doesn’t mean I lower my standards, and she is fantastic. After I cut my own bangarangs she helped me salvage my ‘do and livened it up in a way that only she could. Of course now every time I come in for a bang trim they remember me as «bangs». To be fair, they were bad. Like really bad before she took over. She’s always so sweet and not just with me, with everyone I’ve seen come in before and after me. Plus, she really good at only laughing a little bit every time she has to deal with my bangs.
The rest of the staff that I’ve met are all very nice and ready to help.

I LOVE this spot! Thanks to Lauren h. My hair was completely made over for thanksgiving, I went in a ratchet mess and let me tell you, she is amazing with color!!! Can’t wait for my next appointment :)

I’ve been getting my hair cut by Jen for years. The salon she and Darryl were previously at (Salons Within) was not nearly as good as Cut Loose. The owner, Sherry is awesome and the building is so cute!
Jen does amazing things with my hair! The colors and cuts are always awesome and she is such a neat person! Love love love! I don’t let anyone else touch my hair!

If I could give Lauren 10 stars, I would!
My hair was a mess and could only be discribed as a «chocolate peacock.» I searched all around for someone to help and was finally referred to Cut Loose by some fellow Unilocalers.
Lauren was awesome! Not only did she do any amazing job, but she saved my hair from a ton of damage and she also saved me a ton of cash!

A salon inside a 1920’s house. A boutique inside the house/​salon filled with jewelry, scarfs and knick knacks and fabulous hair stylists. Too bad I don’t live in Carmichael or else this would become my place to go to get my hair done.

Kellie V. is awesome. My mom and I have been going to her for years. Whether you’re wanting hair treatments and color (my mom), or just a simple cut (me), she’s the man! Er… woMAN! Prices are good, service is great, it’s a cool old house-​turned-​salon, and they have cool, unique jewelry to browse for a few minutes before your appopintment.
The down side: she fills up FAST, to call way ahaed of time!
