We don’t eat there after a take out with extra protein, a dead fly in the noodles. They need a makeover and a visit from the health inspector.

Carmi is a small town, not really on the road to anywhere. Given it’s location and market, this is a surprisingly good buffet. There is an assortment of the usual fried foods, but there is also a good salad and dessert bar, several of the other standards of a Chinese buffet — various chicken and shrimp dishes — and an excellent Hot and Sour soup the is filled with all the yummy Chinese ingredients that make this soup so good. I look for a variety of vegetables when I visit a Chinese buffet — in fact that’s the reason I like to eat at these establishments — and they meet that requirement. Like most Chinese buffets, they like to use pollack and pretend that it is crab, but I expect that, and it’s easy enough to work around it. At under $ 10 including tax and tip, it’s a pretty good deal.
