I’ve never spray tanned before. I’m fair skinned and wanted to look bronze before my trip to Florida this weekend. I did research on the process before coming in but I was very nervous and wasn’t sure which tan to choose and what to do. Sara greeted me at the front desk and was AWESOME. She answered all of my rookie questions with a smile and helped me pick the best option for my skin tone. She told me about the different products and how to use them. She also walked me through the whole spray tan process and again answered any question I had. I was so nervous I ended up forgetting the ‘barrier’ step and panicked that my hands and feet would turn orange. Sara handed me wipes and assured me that it would be okay. I had a great experience today and its been fun watching my color develop tonight. I never felt rushed or judged during the entire visit, it was very comfortable and fun! Sara should be recognized for her great customer service and friendliness. Thank you!

It’s just that you guys are stricter than any other tanning spa in the area where they’ll let you tan if you’re close to the 24 hrs apart time and if you say your eyewear is in your purse that is sufficient. You guys seem to take the 24 hr rule to the hilt and then on eyewear try to make money off selling people eyewear when they said they had it, no one else must see it!

Never tanned in my life, and really don’t want to be tanning but after moving here from Arizona 2 years ago I just NEED the vitamin D. And I know as soon as it gets hot enough to tan outside I’m going to sizzling if I don’t get a base going. Very easy to join, a little pricey(not sure what to compare it to but seems spendy). BUT the place is spotless. The staff is friendly and there is hardly a wait. If this is your first time tanning, I would lather up your face, neck, ears and top of your chest. I just use 15SPF tanning lotion, I really don’t need more freckles or any skin damage. And my skin still looks even it’s just more protected than the rest of my snow white skin. Also, I prefer the stand-up booth, there are handles so you can stand there with your arms up and not worry about white spots. I usually get my groove on while in there, gotta dance to the music man. I plan to just use this month’s membership to get my base and then let the natural sun do the rest!

The attendants are usually always pleasant and it’s usually as quick as possible considering the limited number of beds. However I do have two complaints. They have no way to maintain a plan without your card being charged every month. You will be charged the first of the month unless you cancel beforehand. I personally don’t like this method as I feel it takes advantage of the consumer. Also, this is a complaint about Sun Tan City as a company, not this specific location. However, the one thing to be aware of about this location is that some offers aren’t accepted here because they don’t have their lowest grade bed. This means that the ads you will here about tanning for only twenty dollars a month aren’t valid because they don’t have that level of bed. Get it together, Sun Tan City.

Great specials. Nice staff. Only complaint is the wait can be a bit long if you get stuck behind several signing up for memberships. Suggestion, put me in a bed while you sign up new members :)

This actually took place at the West Carmel location, but they have not been added to Unilocal.It’s a brand new location that is now closing at the end of the month. How can one quick trip to the tanning salon produce three complaints: COMPLAINT1 of 3: I walked in to the West Carmel(Indiana) salon, sign in, a girl is at the computer. My friend walks over to the other girl and is being taken care of. I stand there, never being acknowledged until she looks up and says«Did you join here(see complaint three for more information).» I said, I am member here and you seem to just be ignoring me tonight. «Oh, I am off the clock right now.» SERIOUSLY, if you are OFFTHECLOCK, get AWAY from the front desk. Or politely acknowledge a customer when they enter and tell them another associate will be with you momentarily. COMPLAINT2 of 3: I have several upgrade credits on my account. The weekend is half price upgrades. I was excited to take advantage of that. I upgraded to the«faster» tan(another pet peeve of mine that there are so many options), and she said that was $ 2.75 with tax. I said okay. She said I had to pay cash for my upgrade. If I used my account, it would charge the full rate of the upgrade rather than the special. Are you freaking kidding me? These options, upgrades, etc. are just made to confuse the customer. COMPLAINT3 of 3: So the reason I was asked if I joined that location was that anyone who joined at that location was going to be terminated at the end of the month unless they were transferred to another location(makes no sense since the entire computer system is networked). Six to eight weeks ago, you remodeled a tanning salon. A banner hung outside with«Sun Tan City» on it for a while. Two weeks ago, you new sign went up. Today, we learn you are closing this location at the end of the month. Smart, economic move!
