*I would put negative stars if I could. I was casually looking at ravioli when a man doing stock comes down the aisle and starts throwing the cans on the floor from his U-boat, mind you these are 12 pack cases of the 2lb shoprite ravioli. Imagine the brain-numbing noise going towards you until he starts throwing it in front of you. Like dude, don’t you see me picking between mini and spicy ravioli? The heck, bro. I asked the woman who checked me out what his name was, and she wouldn’t tell me. I even complained to the supervisor at the time and they did nothing– the pms-y ravioli-tosser was still at it. Everything I buy from this place is damaged in some way or expired. All the produce is over ripe, the shelves probably haven’t been cleaned since the store opened. The deli is just disgusting, hands down. I don’t want to know who decided any cleanliness policies but they should be slapped. If you’re looking for great service, great selections and great savings, you’ve come to the wrong store.

So they hire everyone for the insane alysulm? They are all idiots that work there. Recently, I went to a register that was lit up but no one was there so I asked the girl at the next register that was bagging groceries if that was her lane and she came over with a n attitude, dropped my food and threw my change in my hand. Even though the prices are good the staff needs to go.. lowest of low, carmel trash…

The only reason this Shop Rite gets even one star from me is for their prices which are very good and the fish market which is also very good. HOWEVER, the rest of the shopping experience here is akin to sticking needles in my eyes. The store is dirty and no matter what day or time you shop the aisles are filled with boxes and associates filling shelves who act as though paying customers trying to navigate the aisle are an imposition. Everyone is totally unfriendly and extraordinarily unprofessional. The cashiers are rude and always act like you are interfering with their day. Unless they have a designated bagger they won’t lift a finger to help you bag. Everything about this store is a hassle and I would recommend avoiding it at all costs. I go in every time with an open mind and am always shocked at how bad the experience is. The parking lot is a mess with carts all over and there isn’t enough parking in general. And there doesn’t seem to be anyone there who cares about the customer experience.

This place is always crowded! But the best grocery prices in Carmel. Customer Service is good sometimes. At others it’s been a nightmare. Anytime you need a rain check it takes almost an hour. They call an employee to go look for the merchandise ½ an hour has passed! Now is when they will consider giving you a rain check, but wait 1st let’s see if it’s even in the flyer! Agh… nightmare! They do have coupons online that you can select then will go right into your card and as you purchase the item it will be deducted off of your bill. I don’t think it gets any easier than that. At the bakery they give kids a free fresh baked cookie. That will keep the kids quiet for a bit. A small variety of organic fruits. Produce has usually been pretty fresh. Decent place to shop for groceries if you can avoid the crowds, which is almost impossible!

This Shop Rite is so bad, I don’t know where to begin. It’s dirty, disorganized and extremely outdated. It’s difficult to navigate because of aisles crowded by extra displays and zombie-like customers who won’t move out of your way – it’s like the people check their brains at the door when they enter. The store is often out of sale items. Calling the staff«oddball» would be an understatement. I would avoid this place if I could.

Pros: The prices are generally good. Cons: The place is a mess. The staff are not friendly. They have great sales but are often out of stock on the items and you may have to wait a good long time for a raincheck because they don’t have enough staff. There are long lines much of the time. It’s borderline dirty, and because of the lighting and layout choices it is always cluttered and dingy. Hannaford costs a bit more, but they always have stock and the staff are mostly polite and friendly. Plus, they hire enough cashiers so you can get in and out more quickly.

As compared to Hannaford on the other side of town, Shop Rite is great. Many discounts, Store seems in disarray most of the time. Cleanliness does not seem to be their strong suit. Half of the deli staff seem to be disgruntled. It is so unprofessional to stand waiting for cold cuts to hear the staff complain, and moan and complain about their jobs. I have always said if you are unhappy in what you are doing, no one put a gun to your head to work there. Move on. Prices are competitive.

I live right down the street from this place, and have been shopping here for years. It used to be a clean, friendly place. If it were not for the convenience, hell would freeze over before I entered that place again. Not only has it become an obstacle course(there are boxes upon boxes of items in the aisles full of product), but apparently, they have anaversion to cleanliness. I actually saw DUST on cans! Now, while I realize that customers can also be pigs(I actually saw a woman wipe snot off her kid’s face, then place the napkin ON the shelf, pushing it back so it was not immediately visible), DUST on cans? Really? The front end staff for the most part ask the three annoying questions that is part of their training«Did you find everything okay? Do you have any coupons? Do you have a Shop Rite Card?» On VERY few occasions do they start a conversatiion with«hello». There is what looks to be a front end manager(always wears a dark pant suit)…I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile. Actually, I think if I worked there, I don’t think I’d be smiling much either. There is also a man who usually works in the dairy aisle… and GOD help you if you want to get a gallon of milk while he’s got his u boat there!!! He absolutely refuses to acknowledge your presence, much less move his gear for you to get by. I just don’t understand why they have to block up aisles(which aren’t roomy to begin with) with the before mentioned barrage of boxes, with displays that constantly are getting knocked over, creating havoc. There is absolutely NO similarity between this particular Shop Rite and the glittering, smiling happy ones portrayed on the commercials.
