Not a true B & B as the owners don’t live on site. In fact, it appears no one lives on site. The staff go home and instructions advise you to lock the doors yourself. Pros: Nice décor in the living room area/combined dining room. Clean and well maintained Nice small garden seating area and separate fire pit garden seating area. Small alcove used as a book room. Nice robes in rooms. Ample parking. Walking distance to the ocean.(Not really walking distance to restaurants and town center) Raccoon neighbors at night — very cool! You can hear the ocean surf at night Hair dryers Cons: Older style rooms with crank out 40’s style windows. No soundproofing(given the age of the structure) so you can hear those above you walking, talking, etc. You can hear everything in the rooms next to you and above you. Very firm, hard and uncomfortable mattresses Pillows are insubstantial and uncomfortable Mish mash of soap, shampoo and moisturizer(no conditioner).all different brands???(you would think a local vendor would offer samples to encourage you to purchase their products?) Breakfast is all sugar and carbs — not good if you are a healthy eater(how about a boiled egg or cheese?)I don’t agree that«breakfast» is yogurt, raspberries or cereal and coffee. Carb and sugar fest. Snacks at tea time are all sugar and carbs —(who is the dietician for the owner? as the owner must be diabetic by now) cookies and pastries… no fruit, cheese, etc. I’ve never stayed at a B & B where you were not served at least one meal… this is a first. Three different employees staffed the place in the 2 days/nights we stayed. The woman serving«breakfast» in the morning was very nice. The other two ladies are obviously not customer service oriented and not overly friendly or outgoing. They were sitting at the desk using the computer and, I am guessing, not to work. Coffee in the morning is served on a burner… where it allows overheating and evaporation and coffee tastes like it. Towels are thin and hard You would think if you owned a 4 million dollar plus structure you would at least renovate the windows and bathrooms. You would think you could serve some nice bathroom products, nice soft towels, nice breakfast options… bottled water and not tap water, etc. I’d give this place a miss and try a true B & B in the area, if one actually exists. It appears there are many B & B’s in the area which are similarly operated. I would only choose one with a LOT of good Unilocal or Travel Advisor reviews. $ 200.00 plus per night for a room, no meal in a hotel like setting without the usual hotel amenities seems a bit pricey. Could be better if given some better finishing touches.
