We have shopped at this Marsh for years and historically found it well stocked with quality produce and meats. They have made recent changes that are very disappointing. Produce: they have significantly downsized this area of the store. The selection is very poor now and the quality is not good. Bakery: while their selection of baked bread has never been great they did do some in store items that gave you a choice over the mass produced breads. They have now totally stopped baking anything resembling artisanal breads. Not sure why. Meats/Seafood: this department is still well done but if you cannot get good produce and bread then why stop for meat. Cheese/Deli: their cheese selections have gone mainstream and you cannot get any unusual cheeses anymore. The deli is very«mid-western» focused. Grocery: they have slowly stopped carrying a lot of ethnic choices. If you are interested in canned vegetables and little else then this is your store.

The speed bumps outside this store are just one of the annoying things about this place. Prices are higher than the other groceries nearby for basically similar products.

I don’t stop in here too often because it’s pricier than other grocery stores. I do like coming here though-it’s seems high scale like Fresh Market right down the street, but so much roomier. They’ve got an excellent produce selection as well as meat selection. Also– they post the times, and they put out fresh warm bread for purchase a few times a day! This Marsh also has a decent hot food selection and seating area so it would definitely be a good place to stop for lunch. If you take advantage of sales, you can get some decent prices here, but you have to watch for the sales. Otherwise, it’s just a little more expensive than its competitors.

So excited that we now have two decent grocery stores downtown. And they picked a great location. I am lucky both stores are within walking distance for me. Ok, it’s a grocery store but I gave it 4 stars for the location and just simply because it is downtown. They have a salad bar, grill, deli and sushi for lunch time. It’s funny because there is also a fruit bar and a dessert bar. Not something I would have expected. The wine and beer department is also of particular interest to me. The local craft beer scene is well represented and the wine selection is really good.

I normally don’t shop at Marsh because of their high prices. However, when they have sales or coupons, an item may be worth it. I saw a coupon in their sales ad for a whole rotisserie chicken for $ 4.99. They state they guarantee every day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. a cooked rotisserie chicken or your next such chicken is free. In the process of guaranteeing, they give you a paper without an expiration date in which the manager signs AND must identify their store name on the back of the form; in this case, my store was the one on 116th Street and Allisonville Rd. As for this review of the Marsh in Carmel, it has BBQ-flavored rotisserie chicken, which Meijer’s no longer makes. It was delicious but not as flavorful as I remember of Meijer’s.

This is the Marsh that’s just east off US31 and north of 146th Street, in the strip mall next to the Wal-Mart. They have the best seafood department in the area, surpasses nearby Fresh Market and Whole Foods in quality, quantity and cost. They also have a great meat department with all the normal cuts of beef and pork, plus extras such as skirt steak, ground lamb and ground veal. This Marsh also has a huge produce section with an excellent variety … a whole wall of fresh peppers to choose from, with lots of Organic produce as well. They’re a bit out of the way for me, but well worth the trip when I’m looking for something beyond the ordinary.
