I met M. Grosser Jewelry Design at an art show in Colorado(I wish I could remember if it was Mark). I had some old pieces I didn’t wear, so after checking reviews on Unilocal,I took the pieces to him and we designed three rings using my stones and old gold. The first time I received the rings, one was made in yellow gold instead of white and all three were way too small. I called and spoke to someone who supposedly noted the changes that needed to be made. When I received the rings a few weeks later, the gold was the correct color but no change had been made in the sizing of any of the rings. I called again and got an apology and a suggestion that I return the rings again with another ring that fits the finger I want to wear them on. That is not going to happen. I would not recommend this jeweler unless you live in Indianapolis and have plenty of time to wait for corrections to your order.

I was in the market for an engagement ring, and spent a good portion of a day just tooling around the«diamond district» of NE Indianapolis — right around 86th and Keystone, you know? Distinctive Diamonds, Jared, Reis Nichols, etc. I went home empty-handed and angry at the high-pressure sales tactics, emotional manipulation, and outright snootiness of these places. After a bit of searching, I found Mark Grosser’s shop in a hidden corner of Carmel. Mark(and Dave) are both incredibly knowledgeable guys, and they do custom work. I was shown their original work(quite funky, if you’re into it), and when I wasn’t crazy about it they didn’t miss a beat, pulling out catalogues of mountings and setting up an appointment to look at stones. These guys know their stuff, and they’re not trying to screw anyone over or get a commission by peddling a bad diamond onto the next sucker. I made an appointment with Dave, who spent a solid hour going over the stones in fine detail and explaining the qualities of each of them. Not once did I feel uncomfortable, pressured, or intimidated by the entire process. They’re also completely up front about the actual cost of the stuff you’re purchasing. The catalogues they show you are the same ones they order their materials from, with the prices on every item clearly marked and based on market rates for gold and etc. Buying an engagement ring can be a Big Scary Life Event, but having a couple of guys like Mark and Dave there to help you along can be invaluable. It’s very clear that these guys aren’t a jewelry store, they’re actual jewelers — they’re also a compelling argument to shop local.

Amazing work! My sister’s engagement ring was butchered by another jeweler and wanted to see if Mark could do anything about it. He met with us by private appointment and spent quite a bit of time talking with them to see what the best plan of action was. He made some suggestions and quoted a VERY reasonable price for sizing and fixing. It was ready the next day and looked great! Now it has a very finished look. You’d never know there had been any flaws. He also does a lot of custom designs and makes pretty much anything you want. His work is so beautiful!
