A great day to have breakfast outside — arrived to pleasantly find only about 50% of the tables were occupied. Boy where we wrong to think how lucky we were. I ordered sausage and eggs over medium — eggs arrived obviously well done 35 minutes after placing our order and 10 minutes after another table, who arrived well after we did, was served their sandwiches. I complained to our server, and although he didn’t immediately offer, I declined having them replaced for fear it may be a wait before the replacements arrived. My wife’s oinion/ham/cheese omlete arrived with my breakfast but her toast didn’t arrive until she was almost half done with the omlete — she loved the omlete. Server’s reply to our inquiry asking why the delay, after the adjacent table received their sandwiches, was simply«kitchen got slammed from all the orders coming in at the same time». True the placed filled up while we were waiting for our order but we had placed it shortly after we arrived when the place was only half full — maybe if we had selected a table inside? No compensation offered — in fact they initially charged for a coffee we didn’t have. We are local and have eaten here on many previous occasions. I am sure we will go back after the memory of this bad experience has waned simple because my wife likes the food. For me the food is good but not exceptional and the quality of service has always been questionable.

I absolutely LOVE this place. They make their own chai mix, and it is very strong. Definitely suggest the chai latte, and a mimosa. I like to buy a bag of their candied nuts… but be careful because they are so good you’ll end up eating them all in one day! Always a great time when dining at Jeffery’s!

We had a wonderful lunch last Sunday and I attribute it to our waiter Andretty… Great attitude and very helpful… Normally the food is great but the staff always seems stressed and not smiling… Great improvement to a great place

Hands down… the best breakfast in Monterey county! Everything in the menu is delicious, staff is great, and prices are super fair. Lunch is great, too! Also, love the catering menu.

We were here in Carmel for a family weekend, staying at a resort nearby. We had all gotten up late and decided we were hungry even though it wasn’t quite lunch time yet. My brother went ahead and Unilocaled places nearby and found excellent reviews on Jeffrey’s, so ahead we went to check it out. Located in a small quiet strip mall, Jeffrey’s is a very casual country style diner, and the only I could see that was packed with peopleb in an otherwise rather deserted strip mall… ok, it was a Saturday so perhaps this should be expected. We walked in at around 11am and the place was already packed and there were a few customers waiting at the entrance for a table to open up. What I really love about these out of the city country settings is that the people seem so nice, warm, and friendly. The hostess was so nice in attending to our group of six and prepared a table on the outdoor heated patio… they have plastic vertical covers to stop the cold from coming in. Onto the food. The regular menu had many of the classic breakfast favorites, and from the sounds of it, they really touted their hollandaise sauce. Separately, there’s a specials menu. I went with something I’ve always enjoyed, but hardly ever get to try… so I ordered the House Smoked Turkey Hash topped with two poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, a side of cranberry chutney, and sourdough toast… you get a good choice of different breads, including gluten free. My family ordered a variety of different items from the menu, but I didn’t get to try any of theirs. However, as for my turkey hash… yuuuummmeeee! I loved everything about it… the eggs were perfectly poached, the turkey hash was delicious, and yes, the hollandaise sauce was very good! … the cranberry chutney just gave it that extra kick. I would so love to come back to try other menu items here, but I don’t come out to Carmel very often… everything on the menu looked and sounded so good! Our server was really nice and friendly, attentive, and took care of us very well despite the number of other tables he had to attend to. Warm and comfortable ambiance, excellent breakfast and friendly service… I really enjoyed this place very much.

The eggs amazing. The Hollandaise epic. The wait was no where near as bad as we thought. Plus having tons of people waiting is a plus. They had free coffee outside while waiting and the service and food better than expected. I will go back next time down south!

I love Jeffrey’s-best breakfast in the valley. I like to change it up and usually try one of their specials as they always have good ones but I also know people rave about the benedict. Service is always good and they have seating outside so its dog friendly. I will make plans to go out to Carmel Valley on the weekends just so we can have breakfast/brunch here, never a dissapointment.

This place is consistent with their food and service. One complaint I have had for years is once you walk in they basically ignore you as there is no hostess. When a waiter/waitress has the time they may seat you but only after you have been neglected for some time. If they are busy… good luck. The reason I did not give it the 2 extra stars it could deserve is because a very good source told me they have one of the dirtiest kitchens on the peninsula. I was very let down to hear this and consequently I don’t go as often.

Jeff’s(as I lovingly like to call it) is by far one one of the best places I’ve had the pleasure of visiting repeatedly. This location is not really that close to me but we make the drive here at least once a month, because of their stupidly delicious omelets that are so friggin’ oh ma gaaaawd nomms McAwesomely… uhm… delicious! Seriously, their lobster crab scallop and Swiss cheese omelet is ridiculous. oh the mouthgasms… It seems like either this place is getting more popularity(very much deserved) or our unseasonably warm weather has brought more folks to it. This in turn causes one to have to wait to be seated… but the wait if there’s one, is totally worth it. Now I’m only giving this place 4 stars due to the waiting service. You can’t have overall awesomeness all around and this is where the restaurant has some room for improvement. If only the waitresses /host put as much passion into their work as the kitchen does tot he food. I know they’re busy but some better training would help them immensely so they aren’t falling apart. Today, the host sat us(2) at a table for(4) when there was a table next to it that would have suited us just fine being that we were a small party. Next thing you know, she sits a party of 4 at said smaller table… and because of this logistical miscalculation, she began sitting people at our table while we’re eating… I mean I don’t mind sharing eating space but that was just a bit odd. We have had the same waitress every visit and she seems a bit forgetful and not very waitress like. One time, we were charged for 67 coffees o. O, and every other time, she’s completely ignored us when trying to get her attention or when trying to order dessert. Usually, one is offered a dessert after a meal… not this lady. She straight up brings you the check and practically kicks you out… but of course, you’re all like noooooo I still want more delicious. bring me more delicious!!!

Jeffrey’s catered a birthday party at our house this past weekend. I couldn’t be happier with how they helped make the event a huge success. They arrived when I was standing on the back deck, hopelessly struggling to wrangle a tablecloth onto a cocktail table with the wind doing its best to fling the cloth to the ground. Paige and the guys took over and made the deck look fantastic — way better than I ever could. Paige, the event manager, and Brent, the bartender, acted like second hosts to back me up when the crowd arrived, from putting flowers in vases to keeping a watchful eye for empty glasses. The whole team was delightful and no request threw them. The appetizers and pasta bar were incredible. Highly recommend the pasta bar — it really elevates the excitement and feels like the meal has been prepared just for you… which it was. Will definitely use Jeffrey’s again.

We went here for brunch on Sunday — No wait at 10:30. We would have liked a table outside but that WOULD have been a wait. Service was enthusiastic. Chris(I think that was his name) was a sweetie. I got the turkey hash which I really enjoyed. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the cranberry compote was a nice compliment. My man got the pulled pork huevos special, his eggs were a bit underdone, but better under than over I say. The balance of his dish was right on point. The toast with my dish was underwhelming(and this gal loves her carbs and bread) But I do have a wedding coming us — so maybe that was for the best.

We found this place on Unilocal. The pictures of the bananas foster French toast and strawberry rhubarb pancakes won me over. We sat outside in the shade and ordered brunch. They didn’t have the bananas foster or the strawberry rhubarb pancakes, which was disappointing. But we ordered something close… the berry cakes(pancakes topped with fresh blueberries, strawberries and raspberries) and the French toast with fresh fruit. We ordered a side of breakfast potatoes, and an espresso and soy latte. It was so delicious that we cleaned our plates. The service was friendly and fast; our waiter, Joshua, was delightful. I’m sorry that we are just visiting for a day, because we’d come here for brunch all the time.

I went to Jeffrey’s on Sunday and let me tell you… I left satisfied. I had seen a bunch of pictures here on Unilocal about the Banana Fosters French Toast but it wasn’t on the menu so I asked the waitress if they still served that and they did! It was AMAZING. Literally, AMAZING. The bananas were perfectly brûléed and the fresh fruit that accompanied the french toast was perfect. My boyfriend had the Smoked Salmon Benedict and I had a few bites. It was very tasty! The smoked salmon just took it to another level and the poached eggs were perfectly done. The lady at the table next to us got the Huevos Rancheros and it looked pretty good. We got here early, around 8:30, so there was no line and we were served very quickly. I imagine if you get there later in the afternoon you might hit some people traffic. Only thing that was annoying was that we were sitting next to the back door and their doorstop wouldn’t stay up so any time they opened the door to get in and out, the doorstop would come down and I would get gusts of cold air. I could hear the Huevos Rancheros lady next to me complaining about it too.

Came here on Saturday for breakfast. The wait staff were very attentive and accommodating, while being very patient as we picked through the menu. In the end we ordered: Crab Cake Benedict Banana Fosters French Toast Corralitos Sausage(locally sourced and for that day it was jack pepper). I didn’t get to eat much of the crab cake benedict since Jaymee got to most of it before I could take a bite. However, the french toast was rather amazing. They offered syrup but I declined and I’m glad as it’s just about right in terms of sweetness. There were a variety of fruits served with my french toast: raspberries, blueberries, honeydew melon, guava, banana slices, and caramelized banana slices. I think this might have been one of my favorite servings of french toast ever. The sausage was ordered by itself as a side as I needed some protein. It came with a small serving of house-made mustard sauce that was mixed with honey. Tangy with a bit of a kick. This was really tasty and a perfect complement to my french toast. The portion sizes here are medium to large. We had breakfast here at 9am and were full till late afternoon plus we had leftovers. Whenever I’m in the area, I’m definitely going to visit. I wanted to drop by for lunch at some point as I’ve heard the eggplant sandwich is quite special!

I was between appointments in Monterey(between the Bernardus Lodge and Quail to be exact). Because they’re so close together and the restaurants at Bernardus Lodge were packed, I decided to take look at what was in the area and went on Unilocal. This place popped up and I’m very glad I tried it. The place is cozy. It’s meant to be more of a breakfast/brunch place. The service was prompt, the people were friendly and the food was very good. I love eggs benedict, and theirs did not disappoint. No clue why this is listed at $$ because I thought it was pretty cheap. If you’re in the area or want breakfast somewhere that isn’t crowded and full of tourists, this is the place.
