I was overall NOT impressed by Carmel Oktoberfest. The atmosphere sounded lovely but there really wasn’t anything going on and you do need to bring your own seating, which we were not aware of. The lines are long, the place is loud and crowded and the local businesses don’t want you to use their bathrooms. I didn’t find it welcoming or worthwhile and a bowl of chili cost $ 10. I’m a local Carmel resident and would LOVE to enjoy these kinds of events with my family but they are far from«free» and don’t easily accommodate families like they make out. There was literally nothing to do except listen to the band and buy overpriced ill-made food. I expected beer tents, authentic German food and other fun things to purchase like locally made gifts that go with this theme. Instead we got bad food, non-Craft beer and polka boy(the only saving grace). Outside of that, there was nothing to write home about. Disappointing event.
