My wife had a problem with the battery connection today. Had to jiggle the cable to get it started. Told her to go To Butler Toyota to tighten/check the connection. They ran a battery test and said it showed lower that it should(a «B» out of an A-C rating) and recommended a new battery for her. They also said her tire tread was low and she would need tires soon as well as new brakes soon. It is a AAA battery which is two years old, so called AAA to come to house to check things out first. THEYSAIDTHATTHEBATTERYWASINPERFECTCONDITIONASWASTHESTARTER, CHARGINGSYSTEM, etc. They said it would have been pointless to have put in a new battery on this car. So, should we believe them about the tires, the brakes… what else might they find wrong with the car to do work on??? I think a second opinion might always be in order… and/or try another service place to go. Not going to be going back anytime soon!!!

I owned a Toyota Camry that was leaking oil. I paid a hefty diagnostic fee and left it there for a day so they could diagnose where it was leaking from. When I returned for my car, they gave me a $ 4,800 estimate of stuff that needed to be done on my car(which was over ten years old and probably barely even worth $ 6,000 at the time), much of which I knew was an outright lie because it was stuff I’d already recently replaced(like the timing belt, water pump, etc.) On the oil issue, they listed only the«obviouse»(yeah, that’s actually how they spelled it) leaks, and then said I could spend over $ 1,000 to fix those and then see what else, if anything, was leaking. Why in the world would I pay for a diagnosis that doesn’t even tell me where ALL of the leaks are, and which instead was basically a laundry list of everything that could possibly, but not necessarily, be wrong with the car? I told the service representative that I felt they didn’t even LOOK at my car, because if they had they wouldn’t have written down that list, and they would have addressed the issue for which I specifically sought the diagnosis. He refused to do anything about it, and insisted I pay the full diagnosis fee. I showed the laundry list of items they scrawled down to a different auto repair shop and the guys there agreed with me that it was ridiculous. I have warned numerous Toyota owners not to ever buy or service their vehicle at Butler Toyota, and showed them the documents I received from Butler. I wish I could give this place negative stars.

Someone backed into my car right before I moved to Indy in January. The car wasn’t drivable, so I had the mechnical work done in California. A few weeks after we got here, I noticed my car was pulling to one side at higher speeds. I took the car into Butler Toyota to have them check it out. I was afraid there was additional damage from the accident. I know a lot about cars, but I’m a little bouncy girl so people never think I do. I’ve found some unscrupulous shops who try and prey on unsuspecting customers, but Butler Toyota is not one of them. Butler Toyota got me in the same day, did a total inspection of the car and found the source of the problem. They didn’t charge me a cent. I’ve since taken my car here for oil changes, etc. I love the staff. Everyone who has helped me has been professional and courteous. The only problem is that you really need to make an appointment, or you will literally be waiting all day. The lines on Saturday morning especially are crazy.
