So first here I thought the food was okay at best. I ordered the California. It’s a turkey sandwich with avocado, cheese, cucumber, and some multi grain bread. Sadly I could only get the flavor of the cucumber on each bite. The turkey and cheese could have been little sheets of paper because there was just no flavor. The multi grain bread was nice thick cut with a good texture. The sandwich is served in a wire box with parchment paper on the bottom. I was not a fan of this because it was just a little awkward to get your hands on the sandwich. As per the ding dong. It was okay. Not the best type of pastry/desert I have ever had but the presentation of the ding dong was kind nice. Biggest gripe with this place are the employees. They’re not bad employees they just have no enthusiasm. I’m not looking for cartwheels while ordering but a smile would be nice. I mean if I was told this place was run by a slave driver I would not be surprised based off the expressions of the staff. All in all this place is okay. It feels like a Panera to me. Obviously a little better food quality but at least I get a smile from the workers at Panera.

Yummy sandwiches, sides, and desserts. Staff is always friendly and I still haven’t tried everything on the menu I want to try but everything I have has been good. Serve yourself coffee and stay awhile. Cute atmosphere.

Met here today for a business meeting. It was suited for the purpose. It wasn’t too loud. I got the brie pancetta panini. It had good flavor, but when I get brie in a sandwich, I like it nice and warm and gooey. My sandwich was barely warm to be honest. I’d probably go back. The food was ok, it was easy to find parking and was conducive to business meetings. I could tell it was made with quality ingredients too so that counts for a lot in my book.

Blu Moon is such a nice delight on Rangeline. The menu is a bit small in my opinion but the deli salad bar is a nice touch. I got the breakfast menu French toast and not only did it look phenomenal but it tasted delicious as well. Although the prices seem high the portion sizes really fill you up. Blu’s eggs is also a good deal for the amount of variety you get. Service is friendly and pretty fast. If you’re willing to splurge on drinks I would go for the tea, although I hear the coffee is great as well.

Met a friend here for lunch on a December afternoon, a rare day off from work for me. I’d never been here before even though I live in Westfield. I was happy to see how many items they had on the menu. I got the salad trio and was able to get 3 cold salads from their display case for $ 8. I really wanted an iced tea but was disappointed to know that they only had fancy tea with raspberry and rosemary in it. I just wanted a regular one. I don’t drink soda and with that as the only other option, I got a bottle of water which was like $ 3. le sigh. The place itself is bright and colorful. I wouldn’t say the staff was overly friendly but since it’s more of a deli type place I guess you can get away with not adding a great deal of a personal touch. I would probably go back again because everything was very freshly made. And they didn’t seem to mind too much that I sat for 2 hours talking with my friend.

I’ve been here a few times for lunch and have always stuck with the salad and sandwich side of their menu. I haven’t deep-dived into their offerings more than that, but they do have quite a bit that seems very tasty. What I have had, has been very good, especially their Greek salad. The atmosphere is very«hipstery» and minimal, but it’s all self-service after the order, so I’m only really interested in the cleanliness(it was) and the comfort of the chairs(not at all). The price is a bit much, though, which is why I gave only 3 stars instead of 4. It’s in the Arts and Design district of Carmel, and I imagine their rent has to be unholy, so I can understand the prices. It’s right around the corner from me, and it’s a nice break from«full service sit down and tip» or «low quality not so fresh fast food».

After five years, Blu Moon is still my favorite lunch place in Indy. The constant mentions in the local media and their new expanded kitchen and dining room proves how successful they’ve been. Hoping for a Zionsville/West Carmel location one day!

Tuna salad panini was perfect. Vegetable pasta salad had a cracked pepper flavor I would wait in a day long line for. Overall my favorite lunch spot with brunch going to patachou.

Awful and unhelpful on food allergy issues. The food I could eat was good. I used to eat here nearly every day back when they were in Noblesville. Never had a problem with them, and the owner was really nice. I had not eaten here in a long time since they moved to Carmel. I had to be nearby for business, and thought stopping here would be nice. Most of the food involved sandwiches, unless you get the deli selections. When you cannot do either bread or lettuce, sandwiches become problematic. I asked about the wraps, and if they contained sunflower oil. The lady who appeared to be managing was very short with me, even though I allowed many other customers to order while I looked over the menu. I only asked a few questions, but I was thoroughly rebuffed. Not sure why I did not just leave… I got the curry chicken, edamame salad and fruit. They were all very good.

Trendy atmosphere, awful food. Tried traditional breakfast. Eggs and become dirty with grill tailings. Looks like they were dropped in dirt.

We loved Blu Moon! We went for Valentine’s Day breakfast and it was excellent! The service was outstanding. Everyone was eager to help answer any questions we had about the menu. The coffee was fresh and hot and the food the same. I liked how fast the service was, like a city deli, but the atmosphere was laid back and comfortable like a small town café! I can’t wait to go back for lunch soon!

This is probably my top lunch spot in Carmel. Any place that greets you with a dessert case full of homemade Ding Dongs and an 18 layer Maple Cake served with a side of bacon has my heart. Well guess what, the love doesn’t stop there. After you stop drooling over desserts you can drool over their freshly prepared deli salads. Personally, I am thankful for that panel of glass. I am sure I am not the only one hoovering over that case. Any eatery that uses local farms(meats & produce) get’s an A+ from me. Some of my favorite menu items share the local love including the Beer Mac N Cheese with Goose Jowl Bacon. Their salads are huge requiring tongs. I love the Thai Noodle Salad plenty for two. I also recommend the Spicy Tomato Soup made with chipotle peppers. Everything is very fresh and super affordable. I have not stopped in for breakfast but I have made it my personal mission to devour their Pork Shoulder Breakfast Tostada, Goose Sausage & Sweet Potato Hash, and their build your own Egg Panini. Other notes: This café is located in the Carmel Design Center with an easily accessible parking lot right next to it. I love the use of local artwork decorating the space. Cute details on the backs of chairs. Lots of natural light. Fun crystal chandeliers. Service is exceptional. My one wish is they were open on Sundays.

On my mission to better familiarize myself with Carmel and the northern side of our fair city, I visited Blue Moon Café for lunch this past week. Many thanks to Brooke K’s review and spiffy photo of the Thai Chicken noodle salad. How could I resist rice noodles piled high on pickled red onions, lettuce, sesame seeds, peanut vinaigrette, roasted red peppers and chicken? It was just as tasty as it looked and for $ 10 I was able to stretch it into two meals — easily. And I’m not one of those cute light eating ladies. As for the space and other offerings, you’ll find a bounty of baked goods like almond cookies(thanks for the recommendation, Dawn V, you were right — very, very tasty), brownies and more. Blue Moon has tall ceilings, an abundance of windows and natural light and free wifi. Great spot to grab a mocha or tea and work at the high top counters. Last but not least, I found the service to be the perfect amount of friendly without being over-the-top. 5 stars!

I had lunch with my mom here. The service is very friendly, but was a bit slow when we went, especially considering the simplicity of our order. I got the spring salad, and it was just… a salad. It was fine, but on the small side and just not worth the $ 8 I paid for it. I have no major complaints, I just wasn’t blown away and nothing seems particularly unique or interesting to me about Blu Moon. It’s near to where I live, but their veg options are so limited, and I felt a bit cheated expense wise, so I probably won’t be back. If you don’t mind overpaying for normal food(my mom seemed to like it fine) you may enjoy it, though.

There aren’t many cafés in downtown Carmel, so Blu Moon is fairly unique in that regard. It is one of the only places to get a cup coffee or espresso drink when walking around the Arts and Design District. The atmosphere is very comfortable and it is everything you would want in a little sandwich shop and café. My favorite part… They will let you have your dog with you on the outside patio. Perfect place to take a break during a long weekend walk with the pooch.

This place is adorable. It has eclectic interior décor which is quite appropriate thanks to the location where it’s housed in. The food is delish. The paninis are something else. Their pancetta and brie panini has caramelized pears which you can usually find in really high end and trendy breakfast joints in LA. Price wise, super affordable. They even have lunch specials and offers catering. Don’t skip on their dessert. Made from scratch mile high red velvet cake? Sign me up.

I usually go with a delicious half blt sandwich and a fresh fruit cup, with a drink for around $ 9. Honestly, everything always looks so fresh and delicious here. Portions are large and worth every penny. I am always greeted by staff in the charming dining area with paintings(all for sale) on the walls. Your food is brought to your table when it’s ready. Their homemade lemonade is delicious! They have a perfect covered patio on the side of the building. This is one of my go-to places for lunch. They have limited hours, so check ahead.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch today. Everything looked so fresh and delicious! I had a hard time choosing. Ended up settling on the grinder panini. Ham and salami with garlic mayo, tomato, onion and spicy giardenera on sourdough! Serves with what I can assume are house made pickles. Had a bag of chips as a side. The sandwich was fantastic and they have a cute little patio so I sat outside on this beautiful day. Friendly service and delicious food, what more could you ask for!

Now, I just came here and had coffee with a potential business contact, so I’m reviewing the atmosphere, staff, and coffee. Although they had an impressive menu selection which I plan on trying the next time I go. The guy behind the counter was courteous and helpful. The coffee tasted great and the whole atmosphere is relaxing. Something tells me that this place is still somewhat of a hidden gem as it wasn’t that busy when I was there around 9−10am on a weekday. The café is attached to the Indiana Design Center so the only downside is that there is no restroom in the café — or at least that I could see. You have to go out into the Design Center and find the bathroom down a hallway. The upside is you can take your coffee to go and check out all the shops in the Design Center. Pretty neat place!

Blu Moon fits well in Carmel’s Arts and Crafts district atmosphere — art from adjacent galleries on walls, clean white furniture lines. Never mind the furniture, it is the food that excites with a question: what eclectic ingredients and spices have they thrown together in a salad today? You can buy a three salad combo as a meal or stick with paninis and soups. Smoked salmon on my panini was just right — not overly salty. Beer Mac and Cheese sported stout flavor and creative presentation(which turned out a bit too adult for a 7-year old). Black bean soup — spicy! In an impulsive buy, we split a home-made Ding Dong. Ganache and heavy whipped cream… I am still cherishing the memory… just not of the fight over each little bit, including crumbs.
