Balancing Bodyworks

I have been seeing Judy, with Balancing Bodyworks for almost a year now. My husband and I own/​run a restaurant and we are on our feet sometimes 14 hours a day. Thanks to the massages that Judy provides I am feeling pain free. As busy as I get, I always make sure to find the time for my weekly massage. Their rates are more than reasonable, the suite is quiet and soothing, and Judy is friendly and professional. I recommend their services to everyone!!!

I received a massage there using a living social certificate, and was offered two additional massages at the same rate. I purchased the certificates and didn’t pay attention to the ridiculously brief window I was given to use them. oh well — my fault. I was told I could use the certificates as cash, which I accepted like a big girl who didn’t read the fine print. I made an appointment based on an email offering $ 15 off a service and intended to use the now $ 80 worth of CASH my certificates had become. I was told that they don’t allow two certificates to be used at once, and that you can’t combine a certificate with a discount. a) they are NOT CERTIFICATES — they are now CASH, as I was told in print by email. b) because they are now CASH, I should be able to spend them as CASH and have the $ 15 discount applied. To make matters worse, when I attempted to rationally explain these facts to the receptionist, she became argumentative, wouldn’t let me speak, then hung up on me. This is a TOUCHING, HEALING business. After that treatment, it would not be a HEALING experience to allow one of their therapists to TOUCH me. now I’ve gotten an email telling me that if I don’t cancel my appointment (apparently the receptionist didn’t hear me tell her I wouldn’t be comfortable being their client since she wouldn’t stop talking), my certificates (CASH) will be void. Advice to small businesses: BE KIND TO YOUR CLIENTS.
