The Quail & Olive

I reached out to Deb and The Quail & Olive while looking for gifts for our company offsite. I was so impressed not only by the fabulous range and quality of products available, but even more so by the phenomenal customer support & service provided by Deb M. She’s an absolute delight to work with and the gifts purchased were very, VERY well received. I look forward to the next opportunity we have to collaborate… You guys made me look good! :) Thank you!

— Flavored Olive Oil and Vinegars. Some unique and tasty flavors all the way around.
— Local Honey, limited selection of high quality kitchen utensils and other high end goods in this small store.
— Quail (The State Bird of California) as in the name — Many really cool Quail related items. So if you’re into Quail this is a MUST visit.
If you’re into eating Quail then State Bird Provisions in SF may be worth a visit: D
— The two ladies working are very friendly and inviting.
— Not as large a selection as other stores specializing in Flavored Oils and Vinegars but good for The Village.
I believe Carmel By the Sea has a couple places with larger selection. For sure the spot I recently visited in Half Moon Bay does.

Quality olive oils and vinegars. Our cabinets are full of your wonderful things. Everyone should visit this outstanding shop!

This was the first shop we went to in Carmel Valley Village, and it was such a cute store! The owner, Dr. Stephen Brabeck (a retired cardiologist), was very friendly and welcomed us to try as many olive oils and vinegars as we’d like.
They had a good selection of oils and vinegars, including unusual flavors like champagne mimosa or kiwi mint vinegar. There were recipe cards to give you creative ideas for using their products. In addition to olive oils, they had walnut and avocado oil. There was a small selection of skincare products (Oluv) that were made with olive oil as well.
If you’ve ever been to Napa Valley, the store is somewhat similar to Napa Valley Olive Oil except MUCH cleaner and smaller!

Simply Delightful! Not only is the Olive Oil tasting free– it’s amazing. Such a great way to try out different flavors. The Balsamic Vinegars are so much fun to try as well. We can’t leave without a couple bottles of each– they even have awesome recommendations for recipes and even drinks/​totally surprised by that! Yum

Amazing olive oil and vinegar boutique. Aga and Deb are knowledgeable with their products and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. I would purchase olive oils in SLO, but now this is my go to olive oil shop. Definitely spreading the word!

Gotta say we love this place. We’ve visited now a few times and each time it seems to get better. The Olive oil is as good as we have found anywhere and the aged balsamic is just perfect with figs or strawberries. We joined their oils club and if your picking up you get a little discount and a little conversation that puts you in the vacation spirit. I would honestly say that it would be a crying shame if you visited Carmel valley village and didn’t stop by. Yes I am bias and for good reason.,

Tasted a variety of olive oils: bacon, basil, and just decided to get a small container of lime olive oil to take home and cook. I wish I had time to sample more, but it would have taken forever! They said it’s great for salads & fish, so I am excited to try cooking since I love both!
I also opted for the specialized tea (got the last one) as well as bath products since I love these things. I love all the natural organic body products that you just cannot find anywhere!
I sampled the olive oil lip balm, the hair oil, and both were divine. I did not get those two, however, I did get the more important products. The hair oil also acts as a body oil and would have been great for the skin.
I am happy with the stuff that I got. High quality products that you just don’t find anywhere else.
Staff was very friendly & was helpful. I hope to come back soon. I love these little cool places that is hard to find.

Super-​friendly staff, lots of different, tasty vinegar and olive oils to sample… We liked and bought the Tuscan Melody Vinegar, which was tres hearty and succulent, and the Roasted Garlic Olive Oil, which had body and a sinuous palate. Carrie was ultra-​friendly, and the middle aged guy who also helped explicate the various products was also super helpful. Way to go, Quail and Olive! We will be back for more.

Recently visited Quail and Olive and was very impressed. The selection of oils and the knowledge of the staff was fantastic. One standout was Susan who, with her personality and humor made our experience most enjoyable.

I love this olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting room! There are many varieties of oils, such as habenero, rosemary, basil, and truffle. Similarly, for vinegar, there are fig, peach, and mimosa. I wish they had more citrus flavored oils besides lemon and lime.

Marvelous local californian olive oil and vinegar, just bought 4 bottles! Nice and competent staff. Discovered a new dimension of flavors.

This is a great place to taste olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The have a wide selection of different varietals of oils and comparing the taste was fun (and educational).
The staff was very friendly and helpful (and not pushy at all).
It is also a break of wine tasting.
