This place is beautiful! My dogs enjoyed the trails and the nice cool breeze. This isn’t an actual park but it is a place with beautiful trails and there are so many trees and beautiful flowers. Several 1 – 2 miles trails available just be careful with all of the poison oak on the sides of the trails… You could consider these a hike as there is some steep climbs but overall not to difficult.

Nice set of very short(1 – 2 mile) trails above Junipero in Carmel. Wide paths covered with bark, shaded, lots of off leash dogs, not many folks. You can do an interesting combo of walking along scenic(from Ocean Ave) to Carmel River Beach to 16th(turn right) to Dolores(right again) past Carmel Mission Ranch, past the Mission, across Rio Road to the entrance to the trail, and then this dumps you out to the street leading to Devendorf Park. The Mesa trail will send you uphill to a vista point where you can see the Mission with the Ocean in the background. A very stunning sight to see!

this is definitely a great hidden gem for hikers with dogs. we had planned to go to point lobos and realized no dogs allowed. thankfully we found mission trail park which had many trail paths, great shade on a hot day, and not crowded. the other hikers were all friendly! just be careful of all the poison ivy!

This is a nice park. The best part is they are dog friendly. My golden retriever loves to run without a leash. I haven’t explored mush of the park but will be doing so in the future. The only thing bad about this park is the amount of poison oak. It would be great if they could get it at least several feet off the paths.

i started at scenic road, running along carmel beach, and decided that i wanted to explore a bit more of carmel, so i decided to run to this park and take in some of the trails. this is a nice set of trails to walk, hike, or jog. it is also pet friendly, as i saw many dogs just frolicking in the woods here. note that it can be a bit challenging for runners since there are some inclines/hills, especially when you go north. i took the serra trail which was pretty much all uphill as i ran north. the nice part is that you get to run downhill when you’re headed south! there were no water fountains or bathrooms in sight, so be sure to hydrate and take care of business before you get here. the tall, green trees keep you shaded from the sun, so the trails stay cool even toward the middle of the day. there is a map of the trails at the rio road entrance, so definitely take note when you enter so that you know how to get out.

My brother, Greg D’Ambrosio, was instrumental in designing this park. It is a lovely place to take a short hike. I can walk here from home.

35 dog-friendly acres of woodsy trails in SE Carmel, but the paths are well trodden and flat so I was happy walking in a pair of comfy flats. If you enter via Mountain View Ave(where it turns into Forest Road) it’s a nice little walk down to the Carmel Mission Basilica.(Except that the Mission is not dog friendly.)
