Passing through town, we arrived at 5:15, and the dining room was full of dirty tables. Supposedly, a large party had just left and there was no time to clean the tables before we arrived. There is a very limited beer menu, and the only option for dinner that we were offered was a buffet. While we ate, we observed the waitress stand at a neighboring table and proceed to peel, slice, and eat a whole cucumber instead of cleaning tables. The buffet is not refreshed very often, and the dessert pizza station sat empty the entire time we ate, while the staff stood around.

I’m so sad. I have great memories of the best pepperoni pizza here. The quality has gone down tremendously. The waitstaff was wonderful and the tea was good. But the food and the pizza’s were less than desirable. Such a shame. Maybe it’s me who changed.

We ate at pizza inn after a long day outdoors. When we entered, we were seated quickly. Our server brought our drinks quickly, and we chose the buffet. The pizza on the buffet was old, but some more edible than others. We ordered 2 pizzas to be made fresh for the buffet. our server brought us 4 slices of each ordered, and then put the rest at the buffet. Pretty good pizza when fresh. Also, they have many pizza crusts to choose from. And specialty pizzas aswell. They had freshly made dessert pizzas coming out one after another. My husband and kids loved them. The restaurant itself is very dingy, and dirty looking. But our service was excellent! !! The service alone will have us back! And we will order fresh pizzas too.

After a long day to Carlsbad National Park, We decided to find somewhere to eat… by this time is was about 9:00 pm after watching the bat show and oddly enough, EVERYTHING closes way early !! which for a place that is way busy in the summer time with all the travelers you would think it would be open much later, however that is not the point… me and my little family stopped here and even though it was 3 minutes before closing one server vouched for the owners to let us stay and eat and said he would serve us.(Adrian Baiza) was our server and by far one of the BEST servers I have ever had, I am a server myself and take it very seriously so to have someone go above and beyond service was quite the luxury !! I gave this place 3 stars because the appearance of it was horrendous, slightly ghetto and honestly the pizza is not the best, but it was cheep and filling. If you ever happen to stop here… make sure you ask for Adrian(5 stars) it will definitely make your experience much better, he is incredibly friendly and will be sure to put a smile on your face.

This was the only place open on Sunday where you could have a beer and not eat frozen food. Pizza itself is okay. It’s not award-winning, but it’s also not a sicking slab of fat and salt like Pizza Hut or Dominos. It’s thin, light, and pretty tasty.

The price was amazing. 7 of us ate for 35 $. But none of us were thrilled despite eating a variety of items. The buffet was eventually stocked with hot pizza but it didn’t taste any better than the old cold stuff. My sandwich was ok but nothing to write home about. The waitress was the highlight and she graciously offered to put in a pizza request for my son. The restaurant ran out of forks by 6pm, kinda like they were not expecting people at dinner time. I’d say pass but not much else was there.

From some of the reviews I was expecting this to be a lot worse. While at first glance I wasn’t overly impressed with looking at the buffet, I took a chance and had a couple small slices. It actually wasn’t bad, although the crust edge was a little dry, but I don’t eat those normally anyway, so no loss there. Dessert pizza was good — lot of cinnamon flavor. Seats are in definite need of updating. Just about every bench has a lot of torn fabric. Also had to hunt down our waitress to get a refill on our drinks. That, in my husband’s opinion, is the biggest mistake a place can make. :) All in all, not fantastic but better than I was expecting based on reviews.

We never eat pizza buffets anywhere so that wasn’t on our radar. We did order a large with a couple of toppings and it was an excellent pie. Hot and good, and served by a very friendly waitress with a pleasant personality. The pizza was a manager’s special and with two iced teas we paid less than $ 15. Don’t know if we will ever be in Carlsbad again but if so, we will visit this Pizza Inn.

This was one of the worst experiences I have had. I walked in, and was dismissively told to sit wherever. After waiting five minutes fir someone just to say hello, I then had to request a menu twice. Once for the drinks, where the waitress said, «well there’s soft drinks and beer.» That was all. I had to ask her to list the beers. Then I had to ask for the menu before deciding on the buffet. The pizza was disgusting. And I love pizza. I’ll eat totino’s with joy, and this stuff was inedible. I took one bite and set it aside, and are a salad. It may just be the buffet, but it’s still not a great sign. The only advantage is that it’s at least cheap to eat here. The buffet and a beer ran me under 10.00, so it isn’t all bad,

Oh wow — I don’t even think I have the words but I’ll try. Imagine if you can a dingy restaurant that hasn’t been updated since the 70s. You walk passed a buffet table of dried food that looks like it’s been sitting there for hours only to be seated at a sticky table where one leg wobbles the table incessantly. Off in the corner is a fat couple with mounds of synthetic food on numerous plates. Their dull eyes gloss over as they jaw with their mouths open. But wait, what’s this? The waitress is bringing out a fresh pizza!!! Never mind, couple in the corner just got up and took every single slice of that pizza back to their table. They continue to chew and I get sadder. No, this isn’t an imaginary story — this actually happened to me on Saturday while passing through Carlsbad, NM. This was probably the saddest excuse for food that I’ve ever seen, coming in for a close second was a Sizzler in Salina, KS. My partner described it best: It’s everything that is wrong with America. Mindless sheep being told by the media what to think and eat. Thinking that they’re getting away with something because they can stuff their faces with processed, synthetic food for $ 6.99. We promptly left. This place was horrible. Unilocal needs a negative star rating on this one.

Decent service. Pizza was horrible ive had better pizza from the frozen food section of walmart. The crust was really bland and felt stale. The sauce and cheese was the same on every pizza only a little difference with each slice. The coke i ordered was flat and the dessert trays were empty for about 26 min while i was there, until i asked the waitress and she had the cooks put some on. To top it off a pregnant waitress came by the buffet and while staring at the kitchen she started jostling her hand around the carrot tray on the salad bar and since she wasnt looking she touched about every carrot in the cup with her bare hand, picked one up and ate it. I was done at that point. One word… Horrible.

Okay… so I think we had a pizza delivered from the other Pizza Inn down the road, but I’m going to assume it is the same chain. So, let’s see. You are in Carlsbad, you want pizza, and your a choices appear to be Little Caesar’s(no thanks,) Pizza Hut(always messes me up,) Dominoes(is that really pizza???,) or a hole in the wall local joint– we tried the hole in the wall. $ 10.75 for an extra large cheese with free delivery. They said 45 minutes, but it was a little over an hour. We polished off the whole pizza between 2 people(I’m a bottomless pit.) The pizza had a «frozen pizza cooked too long» vibe to it, but to be honest, that is not a complaint. The crushed red pepper they send along helped to provided flavor. If I wanted pizza in Carlsbad, I would order it from here.

Hmm, I disagree with the previous reviewer. I thought the pizza was pretty good! Tried the vegetarian and a meat pizza. Both were tasty and better than Papa John’s or another chain-type of pizza. The thick crust(you have to specify) was really good. They also have a pizza buffet, but that pizza doesn’t look as tasty as the one that you order. There is a family option on the back of the menu that includes either an appetizer or a dessert. Tried a pizzert(a dessert pizza) it was kind of weird… but interesting. The family option includes one trip to the salad bar as well. If I craved pizza in Carlsbad, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

EDIT: After seeing another reviewer comment that you can apparently order pizza(as in, you don’t have to eat from the buffet) I think I may have been a bit too harsh. So – take that into consideration if you dine there – you can order fresh pizza! We had no idea! This was seriously the absolute worst pizza I have ever had in my life. My husband and I were staying in Carlsbad and going to the caverns and came back STARVING, and thought«hey, pizza can’t be that bad, right??» Oh my god, we were wrong. First off, it’s a pizza buffet, kind of like CiCi’s but far worse. The pizza was dry and possibly week-old, and there was some pasta with nasty oil sauce at the buffet. Overall, the whole place didn’t seem sanitary. The restaurant was teeming with scary backwoods-like people that looked like they wanted to kick the shit out of us. Plus, our strange server couldn’t be found when we wanted to get the check and leave – she was on a smoke break Nice. I ended up puking in the nasty place’s bathroom after eating a slice, and then puking again once we got back to our hotel. It just didn’t agree with me. AVOID.
