Came in and the barista he either had a massive burn that looked like a herpie or a herpie on his lip then proceeded to scratch at/around it. Either way unsanitary to be touching an open sore while handling food/drink. I canceled my drink and left.

Went to peets at 1pm on a Sunday and they were out of iced coffee? How in the world does a coffee shop run out of coffee? Just shows that they were lazy and didn’t brew any cold brew coffee. Pretty frustrating because I love coming here. But not so much now.

This is one of my favorite coffee shops ever. I followed them in Shreveport and I will continue coming to Peets as long as they let me in the door! I love this particular location. The inside is open and has plenty of room so you can sit and enjoy coffee with friends without feeling like you’re sitting in the lap of your caffeinated neighbors. There are several couches and chairs that are really comfortable on the inside as well. The staff is usually pretty nice and they haven’t «burned» my coffee before, so that’s a plus. I usually get the white mochas but they currently have some kind of coconut special drink going on I regret not trying. My only complaint is there’s not one closer to my work, but there are 6 Starbucks. Don’t get me wrong, I like Starbucks but it would be nice to see another logo in the area!

It’s a Peet’s! Get the normal menu items frequently found in Peet’s. It’s clean and well enough staffed. Acceptable Peet’s location.

When the barista filled the half and half container, he only rinsed it out with water. He then poured new half-and-half from another container and placed it back on the condiment stand. I then pointed out to him that there was dried crusty milk still on the front and spout of the milk container and that he should wash it. He replied with ‘we wash them at the end of the night.” I won’t be having any thing from their milk containers ever again!

This coffee is good, really good. They sell wonderful Kombucha, and have sparkly clean bathrooms. You need a key, which is a little gross to touch a communal potty key. I expect that of less clean places. We will be back, but the sofas are really not very comfortable. They are squishy and not supportive at all. This is my go to place for take out coffee with wonderful service.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is a Peets. It is a franchise store which is not under the direct auspices of Peets Corporate in SF. The lattes are absolutely terrible! They taste burnt and chalky like the beans were flash-heated and then run through the wrong filter. The main problem is they don’t have the same brew machine as a corporate store for some strange reason. Also the baristas are not under the same scrutiny or have the same zeal as a corporate store. They really have no clue as to what to do to because the communication with the owner is disconnected. I’m thinking they spent so much money to open this beautiful location that they just don’t want to go the extra mile to get things tasting correct. We waited so long for this store to open close by and to not have the taste of a real Peets is extremely frustrating. A real Peets is miles away. So many people know how horrible the lattes taste that the other close stores have to fend off the complaints. This store is I am certain going to inflict damage on The Peets name as unsuspecting neophytes visiting the store do not know the real thing thus will be under the assumption that all Peets taste like the swill served at this store. Corporate said they will address the problem but nothing has changed in the almost year this store has been opened. As a loyal Peetnik, this store is a shame to the legacy of Alfred Peet. I just saw the other reviews before mine, I see I am not alone in my review.

I completely agree with Martin M. I’ve tried this location three times hoping things would improve. Sadly, no. This is NOT Peets coffee. It is worse than gas station coffee and it makes sense with Martin pointing out the cheaper brewing machines. I live less than two miles from this new location but will have to drive to Bressi to get Peets coffee. Don’t let this imposter deter you from other locations. The staff and coffee at all other locations are excellent. So sad for North Carlsbad. Lousy coffee, awful mall and Smart and Final! South Carlsbad has it on us!!!

This is a great location. It’s big and open and just lovely to look at. It’s got some good coffee and tea. So I love it.

Whoever the manager is at this location needs to be fired! I’ve been there a few times shortly after they open. One time an employee was completely prone on a couch sleeping. Yesterday while trying to enjoy my latte, I had to listen to rap music with the F word and N word every few seconds. I complained to the barista. He apologized and said it was the radio. Come on, get a clue! Feels like a coffee shop that should be in the hood and not Carlsbad.

I’m not sure I’m feelin this Peet’s location. The location is very modern and clean, however, the folks working there are a bit emotionless. And, they’re not very helpful. I asked what type of sugar free syrups they offered and the cashier pointed his finger in the direction of the sugar free syrup picture. This, so I would have to walk over to where the barista was to read a picture of all the syrup offerings — WTF! Then, I asked what time they opened as it is impossible to find online; the cashier told me that they now officially open at 6:30 am. Now comes the funny part. He then went on to say how it’s impossible to find their telephone number or hours of operation. Further, that it took him«30 minutes to locate the telephone number himself». Duh!!! Then post it online folks. Or, here’s a brilliant thought — at least be professional enough to have the hours of operation listed at the front entrance. I mean is there a reason your deliberately trying to hide the hours of operation and telephone number? Unacceptable My sugar free vanilla almond milk latte was okay, but not as strong as other coffees I’ve enjoyed at Peet’s. Nothing to write home about. Waste of gas, I should’ve went to Coffee Bean up the road. Get it together Peet’s. We’re glad you made it to Carlsbad Westfield community, but at least be respectful of people’s time and patronage.

Excellent service and great coffee here! Nice location with plenty of seating, very well maintained. Loved both of blended caramel mocha as well as their iced teas. Drinks came out quickly and were made well, worth a stop while in the area!

I really liked this location. The layout is very clean and modern with a grey, black, and white color scheme. Walking in you get a sense that it’s not your typical coffee shop layout nice leather sofas with square white tables for individuals and groups. While my visit was short, the service I received was quick and efficient. I only ordered a small cold brew with room for cream. After I paid for my drink I walked over to a table to text my sister and the person brought my drink to me before I could call her. I liked it. Will come back in the future.

Having not been to a Peet’s coffee in years, I decided to give this recently opened Peet’s a try. It will be a long while before I come back. Service was friendly but being overcharged is not. I ordered a double espresso macchiato dry and got a cup of hot milk with a touch of coffee. The oatmeal was dry and gross. Needless to say I am not a coffee happy this morning.

This place is a sad excuse for a Peet’s. In fact, I’ve already written to Peet’s Corporate to advise them that this place will do more harm than good to their stellar reputation. Look behind the counter and what do you see? Regular drip coffee makers, NOT the ones that are at other Peet’s locations. Do they make a difference? You bet. I drink my coffee black and this coffee is nothing but brown water, similar to a seedy gas station. Look at the other reviews. They speak about location and seating and WiFi — things that don’t really matter when you get down to the essentials. So why is this location different? It is one of the newest FRANCHISE locations and the owner went CHEAP with the brewing system. Look at my attached photo and compare it to the ‘large dinner party’ type that the owner opted for. The end result is huge. It’s unfortunate, really. I live closer to the mall than the Bressi Ranch location but I guess I will continue to drive out of my way to get real Peet’s coffee instead of this impostor brew. And for those of you who felt that Peet’s coffee was meh because of this place, try a different location for the real experience.

Great location, very large and open place with comfortable seating. So cool that there are tons of outlets, too. I played it safe with a iced latte. Not bad. So far so good and I’ll be back.

Finally a place to go for some coffee and a place to sit! This place is fairly large, with lots of comfortable seating and TONS of outlets for people needing to plug in their electronic devices. They have WiFi, but it seemed like you need a password to get on and I didn’t feel like getting up to ask what it was. They had some pastries available for sale, along with a few already packaged items like juices and yogurt. Prices are similar to any other brand name coffee shop. I had the cinnamon hazelnut latte, it wasn’t too bad. It wasn’t as sweet as something you’d get at another coffee shop, but tasted like it needed a bit stronger coffee to counter the syrup additions. I didn’t try the any pastries though, will have to try them out next time. They also have an area setup for adding your own sugar or cream, and past that is the restrooms. I came in about 1 or 2pm and it was fairly empty, except for a group of people that looked like they were in a meeting. The noise level was pretty low, though I don’t know how loud it will get with a full house.

There is room for improvement. The baristasare alway happy to serve and make the customer happy. The only reason for the four stars is the lack of tea choice and they do not serve loose leaf tea.

Newly opened location. So I can’t be too hard them. I can only assume the staff is newly trained and not fully equipped. The space is very open, they have limited amount of seating. They do have a small outdoor seating area. I liked the look and feel of the space. There was one cashier and two baristas making drinks. The cashier was making drinks at the same time while she was ringing up customers. They don’t write your name on the cups here and don’t write the drink type on the cup either. I found both to be odd. Needless to say the line was moving pretty slow. Once we ordered our drinks we waited to be called. You have to keep an eye out for the drinks since there is no real way of knowing which cup is truly yours. My drink came out fairly quickly. My boyfriend however took a while longer. I saw his drink made then it disappeared. The barista saw that we were the only ones left waiting. He asked what we were waiting for and then told us to wait. The two baristas just stopped and stood around for a while then one of them finally made his drink. I want to give them a break for being new but they need to work on the service. Drinks came out pretty good. We ordered an iced and hot salted caramel macchiato. I might give them another shot when I’m back.

Super excited for this location! It is close to my house, work, and gym. Yes please! Great service with great coffee! Lots of seating and an open concept for inside/outside. It is tucked between the luna grill and panera. Everything is nice and new– in addition to the staff being very friendly! Looking forward to more stops at this location.
